Hey friends, so happy to finally be back with a new video 🥰 Besides this one, I have actually uploaded another video titled "Personal Vacation Vlog in Denmark", a 23 minutes long personal video, with Christine me on vacation in Denmark.
I've uploaded this video exclusively to my Patreon: www.patreon.com/kalleflodin - The money I earn from my Patrons is going straight into building a bathroom for our new little family, so if you feel like supporting that, Patreon is a great place to do so 😊❤
Want remove snow put 2×6 wood in triangle 🔽 back of vehicle push snow to the side of the road..........!!!!!!!!@!!!!!!!! 2/29/2024
Are you exercising now Kalle? Pullover looks good on you, stay fit
Crowd funding sounds like a fine idea to me, I think that's ok to do, I would contribute 😀
@@CC-Pi That's really sweet of you ❤
Absolutely beautiful!❤
What about building a smaller fenced area where the dogs can be outside but contained. We call it a ‘dog run’ which you can make as small or large as you like. It would enable you to be outside for as long as needed without worrying about them running off.
You are RIGHT!!!!!
Training dogs to stay in an invisible but defined perimeter on a property isn’t too difficult. Before confining dogs to a tie out or fenced dog run, perhaps Kalle could hire a reputable dog trainer, especially since a newborn will soon enter the picture. It’s vital that large dogs maintain proper boundaries around children.
No fences in sweden fullstop
@@dennolf2256 Hmm... not true.
Thanks for the tour, you have such an amazing place! I just wanted to say that crowdfunding the well seems like a great idea. I’m sure a lot of your viewers would love to contribute to something concrete like that. Swedes like Norwegians (I’m from Norway) are raised not to ask for help like that. But at the same time we are raised to help when someone asks. I got to experience the positive side of this recently as my wife started a crowdfunding campaign for me to get an all terrain wheelchair. The response from people who wanted me to get back outside was quite overwhelming, but it proved to me that we are there for each other when someone asks for help. Clean drinking water for a family is even more important than a wheelchair, so I’m sure people would support that! And your videos offer so much value to so many, I’m sure you’ll fund the well in no time🤞
Hello Kalle it’s nice to hear from you again. I am a retired woman from the USA in Pennsylvania. I really enjoy watching your videos. The forest is so beautiful. I love your cabin and the simplicity of it and your lifestyle. Thank you for the tour it was very informative and personal. It is nice that you have great neighbors etc. I need to get Patreon so I can watch more of your content. I love seeing your dogs also and how happy they are playing in the snow. I keep thinking of Christine with the baby. I am so excited for the two of you! Being a mom or dad is the best thing in life!! Wishing you all the best in life ♥️♥️ Can’t wait to meet your sweet baby boy 🥰
Thank you very much for your video.I live in Ukraine , your videos give peace and rest for the mind
in a difficult time
In Canada we call this a camp with no running water or toilet inside
Yes do a crowd fund! Let us help! We are all family here!
That's very kind of you 🥰❤️
@@KalleFlodin do a live chat crowd fund!! For baby!
I think of it as we get value from watching your videos. The crowd funding is just like seeing the bonus features of a movie. We pay more for it without another thought. Plus honey, God gave us a community for a reason. It will give your family security, and a comfort that shouldn't be hashed over.
Loved seeing this. Such a beautiful place. Maybe investing in an older pickup and attaching a front snow plow is cheaper than a tractor. Can be used too for lots of work around the place. I live on 6 acres and I agree to live on your property for a year or more so you understand the lay of the land, the way the water flows, the way the wind usually blows, where the snow accumulates etc. We have a fenced in back yard and a dog door off the laundry room so they can go in and out and then on a leash when we take walks. PS I just joined you on Patreon. I can certainly afford $5 a month and it is hardly enough for all the hard work you do on your films. But I appreciate an affordable way to be a member.
Great video, Kalle. It was very nice getting to see the "whole picture". Looking forward to seeing all the renovations as they come to fruition.
Thank you 😊 Next video is about the next renovation, see keep an eye out 😉
@@KalleFlodin P.S. Fully support the crowdfunding idea if you decide to go ahead with that. Sometimes that truly can be the best way, particularly for something so vital as a clean, reliable water source. I think your subscribers would be very supportive.
Wow that was such an informative video, thanks so much for sharing so many details and showing all parts of the property - very useful for people who want to move one day ☺🌲✨ Still blows my mind you have fiber 😁
Thank you Lora 😊 Haha yes I blows my mind as well 😅
I totally agree with @lorastaneva ;-) A really interesting and beautiful video! Thanks for sharing!

Now that you're going to drill for water and have a pumphouse, there goes my using rainwater from the roof idea. I want to express admiration to both of you. You inspire me!!! Though I have to say, once the baby comes, you're going to have to babyproof inside the cabin. Ty for entertaining me with excellent videos. I especially like the POV one with you and your friend. That was movie quality for sure. Best of luck with the newborn. Patrick from US
He could probably do both.
Thanks for the tour
Great snowy winter ambience.
Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful and informative video Kalle!!!
Wonderful informative video Kalle. Definitely try some crowd funding, don’t be shy about it. Running water in the cabin I guess would be such a game changer for your family.
I enjoyed that so much. Thank you for sharing these details with us.
Such useful information. Big thank you and all the best to you with your life and channel....
Amazing! Thanks for sharing very informative video ❤
I loved this video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the update! I was just thinking of you two and was going to send you a message to see how you’re doing.
Blessings Kalle and Christine. Thank You for continuing to take us all on your journey
Thank you for being apart of the journey ❤
Thank you for sharing your experiences and showing us everything. It is really interesting and I like to see your love for this place =)
I definitely think you should crowd fund. People love to help 😊
Really great to see all of the cabin and its surroundings, it is really a wonderful place in the middle of nature! Really inspiring and goor tips for moving over to Sweden too 😀 See ya soon!
So great to have a tour of your beautiful property, and glad you had a good holiday in Denmark! I agree with another viewer and trust you will fence off your pond. In Canada we have to do this by law, around pools etc on property. Warm wishes as you soon welcome your little one into your lives.❤
so happy for you kalle.you are truly blessed to have that an a good woman an doggos
I love the fact that you share with us your beautiful country. Specially your home. ❤. And where you live. Love your videos. I traveled every time I opened one of them. Thank you 😊.
Maybe we'll look into moving to Sweden from Maine, US.
I would switch with you any day of the week 🤫
Welcome 😀
Always enjoy so much your videos, your calm voice, your quiet lifestyle and humble personality. Wishing you and Chritine the very best with your future and the baby coming along soon.
Thanks that was very informative. As to the dogs, I have had good luck with the invisible dog fence. It saved my lab's life when she started chasing cars on our country road. Wishing you guys all the best with your little one. Take it from an old man, it's the very best life has to offer!
Wonderful video. You are rightfully proud of your property and the work/improvements you have completed. Hope ‘Mom’ is feeling well!😍🇨🇦
Nice! As for a fence for the dogs have you considered an invisible fence? The dogs are collared then taught the boundaries where a signal reminds them not to cross. Then you have your beautiful scenery without interruption of a fence
I'm a first time viewer and I just wanted to say that I really like your vibe, and the fact that you explained everything without sugarcoating anything, telling everything exactly how it was and how you felt... feels very raw and sincere.

Jättekul och intressant att se hela tomten/ägorna! 👍
The air in Alaska is like that, pure and refreshing.
Hi. Love from India. Since I got exposure to the idea of self sustainable living, I am planning and saving so that one day I will buy a big piece of land and live off it. It won't happen any sonner. But if it happens, even in this life life time, I would be very happy and grateful. ❤
A really interesting and very welcome 'contextualisation' of where you live, Kalle - just several years late! That said, knowing this from the outset might have taken the edge off the impression of northern wilderness you've managed to create through your many fascinating videos, when in fact your proximity to a gravel road within walking distance (just!) of a town that's some way south of the arctic circle makes you almost suburban. (OK, not quite ...!) Terrific video narration, much enjoyed.
Cheers for all the great things you have accomplished, and new parents to be!
Super cool!
Cheers, from California USA…
I think it’s wonderful that you share your life and beautiful forest . People like to share in your story so I would try crowd funding all people can say is no . And any money you get will help you get the water faster 😊
What a genuine and well paced video, loved it! Thanks for inspiring me to make videos as well, it feels freeing to be more of a creator than a consumer
You guys are truly blessed. It’s my dream to live somewhere like this. I want to walk outside and hear just nature.
Thank you for video, its an amazing place. Yes love this kind of moss, too, found it in germany /black forest, and at our property in norway at polar circle. Wow you studied ecological gardening? Great.
I’m so excited for you guys to welcome your baby 💛. My baby turns one in a few weeks. I hope the birth goes really well and as hard as some moments can be in the newborn phase, lean on each other and you’ll make wonderful memories 💛.
I always enjoy your videos, always inspiring 🤙💚
Yes I absolutely agree about being very conscious of placing structures and features on the land, it's one of the first things I consider as I permaculture garden designer.. wait even a couple of years if you have to, as long as you need to consider all aspects like where the sun rises and sets through every season of the year so to capture and utilise the elements of nature , what animals live on that particular landscape and how can you support them.. actually in Permaculture we suggest to consider every being that will be on that land.. another important element is to check where the water flows across your land and how can you encourage it to flow well, but also maybe slow it down to allow soakage into the water table.. although that might more relevant to a drier climate, I am in Australia so water is a really important resource and not to be wasted or sullied
I love your place Kalle, I'd love something just like that ❤
Love the big picture video!
Kalle great 👍 video 😊. Adding some insulation would be very simple and economical. My uncle builds homes . I was able to add insulation to a summer cabin with his help and instructions over the phone 😅. Big money saver 👍. It would be interesting if you made a 2nd video of how much money $$ you had to add to invest to make this cabin and other buildings on your property. Congrats on new baby coming ❤😊
Love what you and Christine are doing...and how you are caring for the land and your home. And yes, I would love to send you two (soon to be 3) some money to support what you are doing. I am a retiree living in a tiny home on wheels in the foothills of Mt. Rainer 35 miles south of Seattle, Washington. Whatever I can do to encourage people to live more intentionally I will do. Hoping for a safe and happy delivery❤
Wow has it really been 2 years since the days of you literally going miles and waiting hours to upload videos! I’ve been subbed since then as I remember you telling us about it. Where’s the time gone!
You’ve done a really really good job with fixing the place up.
Really loved this where you showed your property. Felt so relaxing.
Looked freezing though!
Hope you’re all doing well buddy! Don’t worry about having breaks.
Make sure you’re both ok.
Not sure why i find you’re channel so fun, but you have grown a place in my heart. Then when Christin came in the pic, i was so so thrilled you were not alone. And she is such a fine girl. And now a baby, can’t wait. ❤
You have find a lovely place Kalle! 🌲🌲❤🏠❤🌲🌲 I remember I had the same feeling when i find my home in Finland countryside. You just know it! Have wonderful time you both. Soon you are 3 ❤❤❤
Wow I was shocked to hear the price of the well drilling. Was nice to see you again and catch up. Also was shocked to hear it took you 7 hours to shovel your drive way phewwww id never go anywhere during winter if that was me lol. I would likely do a huge grocery haul and do with what I had until I just absolutely needed to go again to avoid the shoveling lol hopefully you will get a solution to that soon especially with the babies arrival very near.
The first thing we did when we moved to Sweden was to set up a fence, with the house in the middle. Best thing ever. What a freedom for the dogs. We used armeringnät, bit rusty and it blends in amazingly
Crowd Funding is a good idea. Many people don't mind donating small amounts they can afford if they really like you and believe in what you are doing. You have done the hard yards and life is so much easier when you can progress. Now you have a little family and after the well, I do hope you get the tractor so you do not have to spend a whole day clearing your road.
I was thinking on the back of my head on a solution for some king of isolation without disturbing the nicest of the construction. And I think I have the solution. Build a clamshell of sort, but as the actual wall is. Just stack the wood beams as they did 100 years ago but 5 to 10 cm form the actual wall. You keep the look, but I understand for a few years, you lose the "patina" of the old wood. Then shift the windows and door to the new exterior wall.
Not the cheapest option, but I believe it to be the best option to a comfier life during winter.
You have a pretty place, love seeing the snow 🌨️❄️🥶l know you and your wife can't wait for the baby to get here 💞🍼🧸 like your video

Thanks for sharing your experiences as a TH-camr without fiber optics. Your tenacity amazed me and encourages me to continue publishing, despite the total lack of tools. I feel I need to share, to bring a different vision of the world, to Italy where certain lifestyles are considered a little a bit crazy. (Sorry for my bad English).

Love your videos, and I like the lifestyle choices you’ve made. And I’m all for helping people out with crowdfunding projects, I would do it. Its neighbor helping neighbor, or people supporting others endeavors.
I'm happy you feel that way 😊 I completely share your view, I supported two crowdfunding projects last year, and also supporting another creator on Patreon every month 😊
I love watching your videos, really looking forward to seeing what you do in the summer when all the snow has gone. I have an allotment with my husband and we really enjoy being outside in the fresh air, When you spend a day there it really makes a difference to me. I would do crowd funding if I was you, i'd try and make money for your well in as many ways that you can... look good and best wishes... what an amazing life you are creating for yourself and partner/child.
Hey Kalle, my girlfriend and I are going to be in Solleftea next week March 8 to 10. Is there something interesting to do and visit during that time you know of? Looking forward to see your and Jonnas "home town" and the nature around it 😊 Best, Arthur

back in 2007/2008 you could already get affordable prepaid 3G internet in Sweden from I think it was "tre" , is what I remember from my holiday in Sweden. It still is quite cheap I think for what you get compared to here, while in Sweden you need a lot more masts to get any sort of coverage then here. If you want optic fibre here that far out with no nearby neighbours you either get denied, or they want at least 30-40k euro for it, if not more. The house we were in also was maybe a little bit remote (but not really) but had a well, power, electric heating, oil heating, moose in the garden (sometimes), howling wolves at night. It also was my last "proper vacation" of more then just a few days, but oh well.
Jag lät borra en brunn (92 meter) 2018, det kostade 32 k efter ROT-avdraget. Pump, hydrofor och kulvert fixade vi själva. Låter som att du måste hitta en billigare entreprenör! :)
From a person who knows put a tall fence all around all the water and lock the gate going to it /my family all most let my son drown while I was in hospital having my daughter/and my parents where negligent with a baby they adopted whose attracted to water nearly drowned in a creek and was in hospital then did drown in a swimming pool that had no fence with gate -all that water by your house looks very dangerous for drowning a baby/toddler -
please dont jus think ah all will be okay/ we can watch the baby /- - - they can be gone before you know it- - - hope you hear me and do something (all said with love and a light heart)
I had the same gut feeling when buying my abandoned farm in Finland. It felt like having a sun in my chest. I bought it the next day without even seing it live. When I finally did see it, it was even better than I had imagined. Always trust your gut feeling. ❤
Same when I purchased my land here in Finland. My wife and I searched for a long time but nothing really clicked for the both of us, until we found out plot and bought it the next day - we just knew this one was it.
@@upnorthandpersonal it is good power to have being anle to listen to, trust and follow your intuition. A superpower of sorts. ☺️
You are happy ❤❤❤
Really nice video yet again, you have really inspired us to also move into the word of TH-cam, and we finally got our first video done, not as nice as yours, but hei, gotta start somewhere
I feel your pain with struggling with that word. I have a few words that causes me have to stumble when I say them.
We're probably passing by your town/area in 1 month (don't worry, we're not there to disturb the peace you crave living in the woods - we crave the same) - but we were wondering how the road conditions are beginning of April? We lived on the polar circle in Norway before and know the cold but heard Sweden does not clean the roads so well in winter time. (We live in a tiny tiny caravan the next months with our toddlers)
The views currently are 14,605. If we all contributed a dollar it would cover the well. I don’t know about fees and exchange rates to make a donation but if we all gave a little it would add up quickly.
Can you put a septic system on your property? That would allow for a proper bathroom, seems to be necessity for a young family.
Nice amount of beard moss and Hypogymnia physodes on trees on your land:)
I'm not sure if this is an option for your location, here in the United States we have what's called an invisible fence for the dogs. They where a special collar that tracks them and only allows so much distance. You can set the collar so that it vibrates and they learn not to go that far. It doesn't hurt them in anyway. I thought perhaps since you have that fast internet it maybe an option for you.
Crowd fund Kalle!!! You have a lot to offer..
Could you share little bit more about Fiber?
Thanks for caring for nature and wildlife
Was just wondering when we’d hear from you - but I I’m sure you are a bit busy these days. 😊 You have a beautiful property. Just out of curiosity, is that a Joachim Ingulstad talisman you’re wearing?
Be carfeul cutting down too many trees near the cabin. In summer it's quite nice to have some shade from the sun
Do you have any thoughts of planting your own food? I understand that you might not have so much time when the baby comes or bc of the other projects you have, but it would be awesome to see you planting your own food! Maybe putting some stuff in the freezer so you have enough for the winter etc if it’s possible?
P.S. Love your videos and looking forward to see the three of you soon!
Sorry I meant the five of you! Dogs are also family members❤️
Great looking place , lots of work , but worth it.
This is what I was looking for. Ended up in a horsfarm in Stockholm, pay 500$ rent and live next to to lakes in natereul reserve. Living 4% roul after selling house in Stockholm.
That looks so much like Canada where I live!
In Canada for this money you can get groceries and maybe pay hydro ;)
@@BlazejMarczak yeah, it's pretty bleak here right now, I was just contemplating this...
Was wondering if you have the chance to buy any additional land around your current property?
That’s great that you are on the grid. It’s a beautiful place. I love what you’ve done with it. It would be great if it had running water and a bathroom. Just wondering if you pay for tax property for your land? Also how long is your drive to the hospital with an Emergency Department?
So pretty!!!
There are videos on TH-cam on how to drill a well.
