I just bought one, and I love it. It's snappy, beautiful, performance is cohesive, cameras are great and gosh, no other phone, old or new, looks as great - NO F* notch, NO hole on the screen, and what an awesome screen, like gosh... don't come talking about the bezels - they are easier to ignore than notches or holes and they're actually smaller than the wasted space you get with holes on S10 and alike.
4gb are fine - you won't have performance issues because of that; and it's running Android 10 - maybe not 11 officially when it comes out, but then again, you never know...
Battery, well... it's not amazing. True. Charging, on the other hand, is freaking fast. Like, it's faster than Corona virus. (STAY HOME, PEOPLE!)
So, no complaints about this phone. Prices as dropping harder than dancers on a pole. Just get it.
Edt: How freaking is it that Samsung has just updated S9 to One UI 2.1? Not much has changed, but most didn't see that coming - just like no one saw that coming when they stated that 3 yr software updates upgrade. And - bang - S9 shows up in several leaked lists of phones that will get Android 11 officially. If that really happens, dude, this phone becomes the best deal in 2020. (If only it hadn't had its price thrown to the top here because of all the crisis covid has brought...)

I just ordered one of these yesterday. I’ve been w/ Apple since the 4s and I felt like I wanted to try Android. I liked the specs on this the best for my “android starter phone”. I told my friend that if I like this one, I will upgrade to the more recent phones instead of goin back to Apple. I’m over feeling like I have to see people when I talk on the phone anyway😒.

Well, you’re just not into iPhone within your reasons. Actually, iphone’s chipset age very well even iPhone 6 can still do well in 2020 in terms of overall use. Samsung S9 is well balanced smartphone, it can do what any flagships out there can do but when it was just a new released smartphone, it comes at a price.

just bought a second hand s9 plus for 50 pounds,it's two years old but in great condition, updated it to android 10 and one UI 2.1 and it runs like a dream, battery life after two years is still good, average 6 hours screen time over one day, strange what was once a plus size phone is now fairly compact considering the standard S20 has a 6.4 inch screen and this plus is 6.2.I prefer the design of the s9 plus with no notch and finger sensor on back, and it's runs great for me,the exynos UK version, gets 670 in geekbench 5.1 in single core, that's fast than the new Snapdragon 765g!!

I am still using the S6. Now finding the battery is even worse than when I first got it way back in 2016. Cosmetically still looks very good, as I always have a silicone cover on. BUT!! I have just took the leap and bought the Samsung S9. I don't have a huge budget, so this was my best option. Waiting for it to be delivered. I am looking forward to the larger screen better battery and the "curve screen" as I always wanted one when they were first released just never had any cash.
I don't do a lot of gaming at all. Don't take a lot of pics. Whatsapp aside. I use whatsap a lot for video calls etc. So the 8MP front camera will be a big improvement and the fact its a helluva lot quicker. I am gonna feel like I am on a £1000 phone in comparison.
Great video and loads of useful info.
    Thank you.

My insurance claim just upgraded me from the S7 Edge to an S9 last week. So far I am quite pleased. It seems to be a good solid phone that will do everything I want (and my S7 Edge's battery life was garbage after a couple years so this is an
inprovement for me plus I always carry power blocks anyway thanks to the S7 issue).
My only big conplaint so far is that the front camera takes super awkward pictures. They are too zoomed in (even in group mode). Not a fan. Otherwise, great phone!

bought mine now in 2021 for 150 bucks.. only ever had 1 smartphone before it and it was a P9 Lite which is now 5 or 6yo. Don't get me wrong, that phone still did everything I needed and I kept it clean and shiny. In fact I think I still prefer the simpler UI and experience from that one to the clutter that comes with these new* phones.
But the battery on that thing isn't what it used to be and while it still performs perfectly fine, it can't really handle some of the games I play these days (not to mention it has absolutely no memory, tho not a huge issue since it had an sd card)
Man.. the S9 tho.. the screen difference is the first big change. Better in every way. The camera is perfect, 500x better (not that I care about this however since I never take pics).
And it performs much, much better.
it was and still is a flagship phone.
I'd never spend $1000 for a smartphone lmao.. you're better off making a PC for that kinda money
and just look at it, its beautiful. The single camera phones were soooo much nicer than the dumfuckery that's going on these days... all the entitled twats think they're professional photographers now and need 50 cameras on a phone.. what a joke

S9+ is just a powerhouse i am using it for 2 years with no problems at all(only battery life is droped and i changed battery 60$cost but i am a heavy user)l , all the updates coming in time like the s10 series with android 10 .The display is awesome better than any iphone 2k with HDR10 and 6,2 size ! This phone is still a modern flagship with awesome desing with no notch/or punch hole display . In my country in Europe the last brand new s9 start from 450$ and the S9+ from 500$ but it is still a bargain .And the One UI is perfect!
The only bad think for its age its the camera i miss the widecamera but otherwise its awesome especialy the night mode is preaty good quality with the upgrades of the software.TOTALY RECOMEND if you dont care for future upgrades of the OS .

I've had my S9 since launch, but, as mentioned, the battery life leaves a lot to be desired. Software is better with One UI 2.0, with way less crashes and the camera is still pretty good. Very slow updates (it's mid-May...still on March 1st security update) plus a battery that doesn't go a full day (at best, I get 2.5hrs of SOT), unfortunately makes it hard to recommend. If you can afford to be next to a charger all day, and could care less about updates, than you should definitely go for it. I am moving on to iOS (yes yes, boo me), though.
