can you please show a mote detailed explanation of how you pinned and attached the sleeves, im a bit confused on how you placed the sleeve piece initially.
Just finished a mock-up (practice) version of this dress.. my first dress ever, and despite my being an extreme amateur it turned out sooooo cute. I can’t wait to make the real thing and wear it all summer long 😊 thank you Solana for your patient teaching!
I subscribed right after watching this video. I love how detailed this sew-along is. This pattern is very similar to some of the dresses on my vacation Pinterest board. Looking forward to more patterns/tutorials! 18:05 This step is called understitching if anyone is wondering or needs to look for a closer-up tutorial. Sewing the seam allowance to the facing so the facing does not roll out while you wear the garment.
Just bought this pattern and watched the tutorial all the way through before starting, plan to try it out this weekend. This is a neat little dress design and great video, especially for your first one ever! Much better than written instructions , blehgh! Thank you for taking the time to do this!
WARNING: The dart lines are NOT properly marked on this pattern. They are drawn as cut lines. Because of this I cut them out, even after watching the tutorial, because I naively expected a $20 pattern to have its components properly marked. I'll likely be able to salvage it, but maybe not and that's a bummer
I've never seen such a clear and easy tutorial!!! I really appreciate explaining everything because I'm a beginner. The dress is beautiful. Thank you!!!
I saw you from Instagram and I literally falled in love you make so beautiful pieces i hope that you're gonna achieve the position that you need to be ❤❤❤ love you😘
Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials! I've become obsessed with sewing thanks to your patterns! I am currently making this dress and I tried it on before closing up the sleeves and its a bit too big in the chest. Do you have any tricks for taking that area in? Thanks!
im planning to buy this pattern from you so im thrilled theres a video tutorial :) i will say though that some parts seemed a bit fast such as when you put the front and back pieces of the dress together with the right sides together and the liner in between
Love your videos! I just started sewing but it’s fall/winter in the US. Could we see some fall and winter pieces/patterns too? I would love to wear what I’m sewing now rather than wait till summer comes along again 😂
WOW! I found your accound on Instagram and I really can't wait for your shop to be online again so I can get the pattern! 🤩I quite gave up on sewing a while ago because I couldn't find tutorials that were actually easy to understand for beginners (I struggle a lot placing well the fabric), but this one is so well explained! Took some notes and screenshots, and I am SO ready to finally have the pattern between my hands! ☺
Hi lovely, this is an absolutely beautiful dress. Perfect for my upcoming trip. Would you please share how did you get into sewing and where did you get your basic lessons from. I want to start sewing but the tutorials on youtube are too overwhelming. Thank you ♥️
Danke!! 🥰 als nächstes kommt das Scarf Top als sewing pattern und tutorial, das ist ein bisschen besser geeignet um es auch an kälteren Tagen mit einem Cardigan oder Blazer zu tragen
When overlocking the sides of the dress, I can't tell where you're doing that at. I'm using a normal sewing machine, so I was going to do a zigzag stitch but confused about the part where you ironed the seams open if you are sewing them together? Is there a deeper explanation of this technique anyone could point me to? 😊
I got confused about that too, but I kept watching and got a glimpse of that seam later and it looks like she overlocked them together. I’m also using a zigzag stitch. The part I couldn’t figure out though was how she did the bit of the side that’s just one layer, between the lining and where the skirt starts.
@@sparklehoof not officially, but honestly that area is so short it seems to do a good job of holding itself in place. I just gave it a good press. I figure if it becomes an issue I can do a topstitch to hold it, but I don’t think it will
Could really do with a detailed explanation on the sleeves please, I couldn't really see anything you did and couldn't tell where they were being pinned/which way round. Please help - I have a half finished dress!
Hi, i have a question regarding a long overlock in minute 28-29. You have ironed the fabric and overlocked, but it doesn’t show closely. You have ironed the fabric it lays down on two sides, how do you see it after that? On which side? I am confused 😊
After you pressed the seam open with the iron, you basically put the 1cm seam allowance we just ironed away from each other, back together and then overlock it together. The reasons we first press them apart is because the outside of the dress where the seam is will look much nicer. Let me know if this helped!! I hope you understood your questions correctly:)
hey, the way you presented the video in so much detail and you look absolute gorgeous while doing so...... Also could you me in knowing how to cut those patterns of measurement (sheets that u used), please?
Hi, love the video! Just wanted to ask how much fabric do you need to make this dress? I usually use about 3 meters for most dresses but you seem to cut your pattern out with a lot of excess thrown away.
Can you explain why we have to go back and forth on those little corners? Also, Is it possible the stitch will get caught if I go back and forth? I get scared to do that.
I bought the pattern, but the problem is that there's no numbering for assembly, and I can't figure out how to place the pattern correctly. can you help me?
The pages are assigned as A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, B1, B2 etc. The A is the 1st column, B is the second column etc. There is a video on her Instagram that shows how to assemble the patterns if you need more info!

Does the pattern also work with cotton?

Hi :) check my newest video that I uploaded yesterday, I'll explain and show there how to put the pattern together :)
Do you have a pattern for the variation of the more rounded neckline? You had a white dress in that version x
Way to go!! 🥰

1.6m for this dress 😊
So cute 🥰 did you designed this dress? 👗
Hi, awesome tutorial, where do i buy the pattern from please 😊

Do you secure the edges of the fabric?😊
Super well explained ❤ I will buy the pattern
Thank you!! 💗 send me a photo once you finished sewing your Lea dress, I would love to see it!
This is my first time sewing and I’d like to make this for my graduation. Can someone tell me what supplies I need besides the fabric and machine?
How many yards of fabric did you use? Thank you!
would this work with a viscose fabric? its so beautiful TFS
Can you explain why we have to go back and forth on those little corners? Also, Is it possible the stitch will get caught if I go back and forth? I get scared to do that.
backstitching just makes it really secure so the stitches won’t come out when the fabric is moved about and worn etc
Hello Ann-Sophie,
Where can I find the printable pattern, while the site is being maintained ?

Welcome to Australia😍 How are you finding sourcing fabrics here compared to overseas?
Thank you!! I'm loving it so far here! But when it comes to sourcing fabrics I am really struggling. If you have any tips please share them with me!!
Depending on which state you’re living in, there’s spotlight, lincraft or Homecraft textiles. Hope that helps x
how do you print out those papers?
What company did you use to make your garment labels?
They are from Dortex
