  • I absolutely love COOKIES. But I don’t like overly sweetened cookies often found out there. Hence, this homemade recipe would be perfect for you if you are looking for some Less Sweet Chocolate Chip Cookies. These mini cookies are super crispy, crunchy and brittle. Rest assured, they are easy to make and will be ready in no time. What’s needed is probably spending some time beating the butter for 10 minutes to incorporate a lot of air to create the air pockets that would give the crunchy texture. Fee free to double the recipe, keep the extra cookie dough in the fridge and have freshly baked cookies when craving hits!

    =Ingredients=
    80g (1/3cup) unsalted butter
    70g (1/3cup) brown sugar
    20g (1.5 tbsp) white sugar
    130g (1 cup) all-purpose flour
    5g (1 tsp) malted milk powder (Horlicks/Ovaltine)
    30g (1/2) egg
    4g (3/4 tsp) baking powder
    2g (1/4 tsp) baking soda
    3g (1/2 tsp) vanilla essence
    2g (1/4 tsp) salt
    50g semi-sweet chocolate chip (up to your liking)
    50g dark chocolate, chopped (up to your liking)
    *Bake at 170°C for 10-12mins until golden brown
    *Makes about 90 mini cookies, each dough 4g

    80g (1/3 杯) 无盐黄油
    70g (1/3 杯) 红糖
    20g (1.5 汤匙) 白细砂糖
    130g (1 杯) 普通中筋面粉
    5g (1 茶匙) 麦芽奶粉 (好立克/阿华田)
    30g (半粒) 鸡蛋
    4g (3/4 茶匙) 泡打粉
    2g (1/4 茶匙) 苏打粉
    3g (1/2 茶匙) 香草精
    2g (1/4 茶匙) 盐
    50g 半甜巧克力粒 (分量随自己喜欢)
    50g 黑巧克力 (分量随自己喜欢)
    *170°C烘烤10-12分钟至金黄色
    *差不多能做90粒迷你曲奇,大约各4克

    I tried this recipe! The cookies were crunchy and delicious. For me , i felt the cookie Has lil bit sweetness. Rest of all , is amazing ❤

    I put mine in freezer and bake it after 24 hours. Taste really good, crunchy and did not crack

    Hi, your cookies recipe seems amazing. I'd like to know if these delicious cookies can stored in container under room temperature for up to 2 days? Will it become soft? How to avoid softness in cookies?

      Hi these cookies can be stored in an air-tight container at room temperature for 2-3days and it will still stay crispy! Another way is to keep the cookie dough in the freezer and bake in small batches whenever you crave for it

    this looks like the recipe I've been searching for - smaller cookies that are less sweet! I'm excited to try this out, but I have some questions:
    1) can I reduce the amount of butter? I don't like the smell of butter and sometimes cookies smell too buttery.
    2) should I follow your grams or 茶匙 measurements? I read that grams are more accurate.
    3) do you turn on the oven fan while baking?

      1) Yes sure you may reduce the amount of butter, but you may have to experiment a little as I’ve not tried it before. I personally think the buttery smell for this cookie is not heavy at all.
      2) Yes grams will be more accurate!
      3) I prefer not turning on fan while baking, just top bottom heat will do 🔥

      Hi! I hate the over whelming smell of butter too! What I do is place the dough in an air tight container and age it in fridge. Not the refrigerator. It gives so much depth of flavor and gets rid of the butter smell. The vanilla and chocolate impacts the cookie. Hopefully this was helpful

    Hi! Lovely recipe.
    However, I want to know if anything else can be used in place of Malted Milk Powder? We do not have it here where I live and would love to bake these little cute yummies for my bf and I. Please let me know.

      Heyyy You can definitely try it! I searched online a bit, it recommends to use no more than ½ cup per recipe to avoid crystallization and dryness when baking with erythritol

      Hey Riska! It should be able to store 2-3days at room temperature. I’ll suggest to bake the cookie dough when you would like to eat, so you’ll get freshly baked cookies every time!

      Cookies are recommended to chill in the fridge as it prevents cookies from spreading out too quickly once they’re in the oven, helping to hold onto their texture. If you skip the chilling step, you’re more likely to have with flat instead of lovely, chewy cookies.

    Hihi may I know do I have to bring it to room temperature to soften the dough first before rolling into ball? I realise my cookie always look very puffy…it doesn’t flatten up like commercial cookies

      Hihi I think as long as it’s soften enough to roll into a ball will be fine, just make sure the dough is not too soft before baking :)
