I am a 38 yr old man literally crying after watching this video. I have been following Justin's story ever since the very first time you guys featured him in one of your films. Like many others I have really enjoyed watching his progress. There have been many people who have helped get Justin where he is today. In fact, if I didn't know any better I would insist that the Justin we see in the first video is not the same Justin that we see in this video. The change we see is just astronomical! I see that a lot of people have given a lot of praise to the various people who have been a part of Justin's everyday life and that have helped him to get to where he is. I honestly feel like Calamari Films have played a very important role in getting Justin to where he is today as well. I say this because your videos have given a lot of exposure to the challenges involved in getting Justin to where he is today. I also think that the exposure you give to the entire juvenile system has motivated people to want to help regardless of how big or small their help is. So I would like to say KUDOS to Calamari Films! Please keep the videos coming!
I completely agree 1,000%. It has been so incredible to see how much Justin has grown. His story has touched thousands, if not millions of people. He has gone through so much in his life, that no child should ever have to deal with. I probably have cried watching every one of the videos featuring him. I wanted to adopt him right then and there and just give him the love he deserves. I’m glad that he found a loving home. There’s more kids out there who need a loving home. I probably won’t be able to have kids biologically but after watching this, I’d definitely be looking into adoption someday.
#1 Nobody - Time does indeed fly! We're glad you watched his other videos and we agree -- bless all the people who helped Justin have the life he has today!
This is the greatest update. Justin seems like a whole new person . God Bless Mel and the Staff at Damar that actually cared about him not just leaving him in the system
It is uncanny how much Justin resembles his adoptive father. I have been following Justin's story and watched him grow into adulthood. All the childhood hurts and trauma and still he was loved into the wonderful young man he is today. Thankyou all for your caring and dedication to his welfare and development over the years. You made all the difference.
I have been following Justin's story for some time as well Justin looks so happy with his father the crazy thing is he LOOKS like he could be his biological father
@Jaymie Deville - we're so happy for him too! They make a great family and we are forever grateful Mel came into Justin's life. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you Calamari for bringing this very special journey of Justin through the years. It had been an arduous, turbulent, roller coaster where Justin should not have been placed in the max-security and for the many knights who fought the system for Justin to be placed at Damar. Then a strange magical moment where Mel came into Justin's life and became not only as mentor, friend, big brother, counselor, but eventually adopting Justin and becoming his dad - an honorary, well-deserved, perfect fit, most of all just love and care flowing spontaneously between both of them . Although the journey started in darkness and hellish, it ended up as a fairy tale with amazing beginning of a new family unit. Once in a while the universe does throw us a magical moment in Camelot. Fate too brought both "soul mates" and clicking in sync to garner such a warm fuzzy new chapter. Wishing Justin and Mel continuing the fabulous unit as ONE and may their lives fill with joy, laughter & happiness. Once again, thank you Calamari for an enlightening documentary lasting for more than a decade. These episodes gave us all a glimpse of the struggles and perserverence, dedication of the staff of the Juvenile department, second chance placement at Damar and for one brief shinning moment all the stars aligned for Justin and Mel to be a family. Appreciate a wonderful transforming documentary that took so many years to complete. Well done and keep up the great story telling so that the community would ever be more ready to lend helping hand to these juveniles so they could have second chances in succeeding in life.
@Chao Yoong - It is so heartwarming when we get comments like yours. Thank you so very much for your kind words. Justin and Mel were truly meant to find each other. The life they have created together as a family is why we love doing this work. As you say, when you get to see the dedication and perseverance of kids like Justin over the course of time, it's an amazing journey to be on with them. Yes, it can be heartbreaking and sad, too, but new beginnings like this make it all worth while. Thank you for seeing the beauty in Justin's story, and for taking the time to comment. Greatly appreciated!
I’ve never seen your channel until just watching Justin’s story & follow up. Glory to God for using this to help so many moving forward & bringing him to the best dad to lift him up & help him to become the best version of himself! hallelujah

I just found Justin's story yesterday and I was happy to see that he moved from Juvenile prison to Damar. They seemed to put the person first and totally understood Justin and what he needed. I loved that they let Justin take control the minute he entered and they asked him questions. Such a person centered way of working with people. I'm so happy he has now found his family. WTG Justin, I'm happy for you.
I watched Justin's story a long time ago. Could never get it off my mind and always would rewatch when TH-cam would reward me with his thumbnail. So happy to see this update and the extremely amazing job he's done. Thank you 💕
This has been an amazing story to watch with such a happy ending. Restoring my faith in humanity. That boy had alot of people that really cared about him.
Yes, I remember Justin and have also been following his story with VERY much interest. For someone who had a very limited vocabulary, look at the difference in him now ! All of the staff who worked with him deserve a special recognition for the tireless work that they do

I'm so happy to watch this and see that Justin has a family now that loves him and has given him a safe refuge. His dad is incredible and if it weren't for Mike and the rest of the staff at the prison and group homes, he would be a lost soul. Cheers to you all.
Justin is such a special person, his whole story has had me on an emotional roller coaster. I have had anger, sadness, relief, crying a lot, I’m so happy that Justin has a dad now and is doing so well. I hope he got his chance to go to California. Sending my love to you all.
I am so happy to see that Justin Finally got the family he needed and deserves. His story has touched my heart , I am so happy for Justin, From a fellow Canadian.
Thanks for the update. So happy for Justin. Always look for an update on Justin and how he’s doing. Thank you everyone involved for helping him on his journey to success and to have a place where he can call Home.
I have been following Justin’s story. I am so happy that him and Mel crossed path. It’s sad to know that his family lied to get rid of him and put him behind bars. I am so happy that the staffs saw that he didn’t belong in the facility I am happy the Mel adopted him and now he has a family.
I’m so happy to find the conclusion to Justin’s story, l followed his story until he was 18 … it’s great to seem flourish and feel safe in a new home !
This makes me extremely happy! I’ve been following this story of Justin and even said myself I would have adopted him and it gives me joy to know that Mel adopted him 😊 I pray God continue to Love, Protect and keep both Mel and Justin ❤🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤

From NC.Thank you for keeping us updated on Justin. I've been watching Justin's story from the beginning and it just brightens my day every time I see one of Justin's videos Justin has come a long way and I will always keep him in my prayers ✝️
Mel and Justin…..you two are soulmates as father and son. Mel, you are an angel. Justin, you are a beautiful soul and that is why you bring so much good into your life. Keep letting us know how you are! Lots of people love you!
May God bless Mell and all other people who opened their hearts and showed compassion and love for Justin. You made a huge difference. Not only for Justin but for a lot of boys/girls that would have been placed in the wrong facilities. Thank you so much
This makes my heart happy for Justin! I'm so glad to see such a positive update and that Justin got his family. Blessings to Justin, Mel, and everyone who saw the potential in Justin.
I've been following Justin because of you guys. Thank you guys for helping Justin! Please continue to help the children around the country like Justin's case. I needed that help, fight for them and make them feel worthy
@Cocoa Boucher - Thank you so much! As we keep saying, we did the easy part. The people at Damar and Mel are the true heroes, along with the staff at the prison who refused to let Justin languish behind bars. It truly took a village, and we're beyond grateful we were able to capture it all on film. Thanks again!
God bless each and every one of these adults who gave this child time, and love. Without all of you being there he may have never felt that he was loved or to know how it felt to have love in your heart. You are heroes!!!
Dear mel. Thank you for being in justins life. As I been following this life story ,for it to have such a great ending. Is just amazing. Im in tears my heart is so filled. We still have to belive in humanity and that their is still love out there. 💖💖
Wow Thank You for sharing your story Justin. Mel we need more people like you. To hear you say”your life is complete “ is very moving. Mel and Justin you guys deserve the best with what this world has to offer. May God Bless you Mel and Justin on your life’s journey. ❤️
So happy to see Justin is doing well. Given where he was a decade ago, this is a huge step forward for him. This is exactly what he needed in the first place, someone to take him in and love him for who he is.
Thankyou so much for this I was only thinking of Justin last week so this was AWSOME. As always Justin you have AMAZED at everyone milestone you crush. Keep at it brother much respect all the way from Australia!!!!!!
Thank you for the update on Justin. I can't stop thanking our lord for all the wonderful people whom help him. I am so grateful for this update on Justin. I learned about his story today. And I couldn't stop thinking about this angel. And all the staff the help Justin get here today. I was not aware that Justin was older. As a mother for three and a grandmother of four I can't think of my siblings going through or anyone child. His mother should be ashamed for not any involvement in his life. I pray for her. Because what's coming to her from our lord up above can't be stop. I'm very proud of all the staff that help his journey to be an amazing one. Please continue to give us an update on Justin. Go's bless.
Thank you for providing us with an update on Justin. I’ve been thinking about him and wondering how he’s been doing. I’m glad to see he has a loving father now.

I'm just so happy for Justin and everything is turned around for the better and it's just going to be getting better I'm glad to go to the doctor that guy's a very special man that adopted him and thank you for the update
I first saw Justin as a boy in prison it broke my heart then I was happy to see him go to Damar, then into a community house, and now I've cried Happy tears seeing him finally have his own family. I'm so happy for you both. Justin I send you live and vest wishes from Australia and I would've adopted you too if it'd been an option and I lived over there... I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands who feel the same. There's a lot of love for you in this world. 😍✨️💜💯👍🫶💫
Thank you, thank you for this amazing story of Justin's life. Like so many i have followed his story & you guys did a brilliant job. Mel you are amazing & long may you both be happy & you kinda look alike. Justin you are a truely beautiful person & deserve all the happiness in the world & you are loved unconditionally. Once again like many people have said thank you for doing this documentary xxx
I have followed Justin since the first time i seen the video prison orphan, This has always been in my heart . I have watched every video that has been posted by Calamari. I have to say this brought tears to my eyes He has been blessed because of the people in his life that truly cared .This up date is the best Justin has a family now and Dad you can tell that truly loves him . Seeing this is the best thing i have watched in a long time .Congratulations to Justin and his Dad they found each other .
This is the work they need to be recognized for, because of all these caring people of course including Mel ♡ came together with the sole purpose to give this kid a place of love, a place where he can recieve positive influences.People who taught him not only the basics of taking care of himself but how to thrive in the world being himself.Thankyou for your beautiful work and sharing with us such a great story. We need more of people looking past their own self gain to help others, it feels so good to do it and it helps someone live a life worth living in the darkest times.
Awesome! It's amazing they got him out of juvenile. If he would of been there until 18 his life would of been a lot different.. So happy he has a dad that loves him..
Its great to see first hand what can happen when people genuinely care about the well being of one. I'm glad he's doing well. Its such a shame that the reason he was in the system to begin with was a lie because nobody wanted to help. They really lost out on a great kid. A great story start to finish and thanks for keeping the viewers updated.
Seeing Justin now vs where he was when in juvenile corrections. I would never think that he has an IQ of 40 given his appearance and composure now. That someone like him didn't fall through the cracks in the system is something that is heartwarming to see - and to see that Justin was able to find a family (or a family found him) and that is something that is great.
So happy for you Justin! You finally got a loving home that you deserved. Hats off to all of those people who never gave up for this young man since day one.
Thanks for watching his story @Jacob Thompson! He's such an amazing young man, and the life he has now with his adoptive dad, Mel, is a wonderful thing to see!

God bless ya Justin. I, like many, have watched your story and I must say this is your best chapter. I’m so pleased you and Mel are living the family life you were both destined to live. Together. There are many amazing people who have contributed to your success with dedication and love. You have made a lasting impact in their lives too. Best of luck to you my guy. Sending much love and endless blessings to you and your Dad. 💙🙏🏼💙

Omg❤❤❤❤❤❤ He is adopted , my heart is so happy, Once he met kate, mike, you karen,Mr Fred and finally Mel he was saved your all earth angels, thank you and justin for allowing and making this documentary im in UK and im horrified these kids end up in prison because no one wanted them, and that original judge should be ashamed whilst you slewp well at night! I wish Justin and his dad the very best, all staff in these facilities & calamari productions please take a bow and sleep easy knowing you have all done a great job!

I have been following Justin’s story. I am so happy that him and Mel crossed path.
It’s sad to know that his family lied to get rid of him and put him behind bars. I am so happy that the staffs saw that he didn’t belong in the facility
I am happy the Mel adopted him and now he has a family.

Thank you so much
What a beautiful ending to this journey. I’ve binged all of Justin’s videos. ❤️❤️
@lisamcilvainartpage8838 - we couldn't agree more! He is such a gem!
This is an amazing story so touched by where justin has ended up and how supportive the people around him have been
This makes my heart happy for Justin!

So happy to see Justin is doing well. Given where he was a decade ago, this is a huge step forward for him. This is exactly what he needed in the first place, someone to take him in and love him for who he is.
@William Sevier - very true! So glad you've watched his story!
@@CalamariProductions Thank you and Thank you Justin for allowing us to follow along with this journey.

Go's bless.

Thank You for Uploading This
@Darius Teel - You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
@@CalamariProductions I’m Happy That He’s Doing Well and Stuff Now
@Don W - Thanks Don! We love being able to post updates like this one. Makes the heart happy!
@burton m - we agree 100%!! The happiest of "endings" / new beginnings!
So happy for you Justin! You finally got a loving home that you deserved. Hats off to all of those people who never gave up for this young man since day one.
So many heroes in his life, and no one more deserving than Justin!
TQ Mel and every single person who have helped Justin. God bless all of you. Amen. Love to Justin from Malaysia, South East Asia.
Omg sooo happy to see how far Justin has come and to see he found the family he waited so long for!!!!
Thank God this has gone so well for Justin. Im so happy to have found this and hear how its worked out for Justin!!!!
Wow. I remember seeing him when he was a prison orphan. Glad he found a home.
Thanks for watching his story @Jacob Thompson! He's such an amazing young man, and the life he has now with his adoptive dad, Mel, is a wonderful thing to see!
Calamari Productions Thank~you so much for this update!
I've thought of Justin often since, you first filmed him!
Blessings to everyone who has been a positive, loving part in changing his life`
His story has always stuck with me!
💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Jesus died for us all, and rose from the grave to defeat death, so we can have eternal life. please give your lives to him, and repent, he loves you!🙏🙏❤️
God bless ya Justin.

Justin's conversational skills blew my mind, He has found in Mel what he always wanted, a home and his parent to love him ❤❤❤❤ Im bawling tears of joy, i love these full stories on each kid.
Thank you to everyone for looking after Justin and all the kids without parents that need your help.

Well done & thank you Mal, just what he needs in my opinion, a parent, family & sense of belonging 💜
I sometimes see adoptive, step & foster children and they look so much like them. You’ve got matching beards 😀 love it!
