idk, you can get pretty quick with them after a while, but it is also the 'pain in the ass' programming that gives way to so many 'happy accident' acid lines haha
@@ColonelForkEyes Exactly. The whole thing about acid is that you don't really know what you're going to get until you hit play. It's a serendipity machine. It's only a pain if you're trying to copy a line you heard somewhere else... but it was interesting to see this anyway :)
I know it is heresy, but I have really enjoyed the 3rd party options that have blown up around Behringers TD-3 Clone for editing over USB. I can have the same sound and in-show flexibility but upload an entire set's worth of patterns from scratch to ready in less than 5 minutes using a sequencer program and just sync over USB. Easily one of the best dance tunes of all time and definitely one of the Prodigy's best from their best album. Also easily one of the best albums of all time.. groundbreaking and still sounds fresh decades later
The Prodigy are my favorite “band”, Music for the jilted generation generation is my favorite album, the Narcotic suite is my favorite part of the album, Claustrophobic sting is my favorite part of the narcotic suite!
First 3 albums are insanely great. Too bad the music was only produced for stadiums from there on. The first one will always be my favorite when the music was purely about having fun.
I don't know why this was in my recommended list or even why I watched it. Don't know the first thing about that bit of kit you've got, but loved watching how it was put together! It sounded spot on, great little video. Haven't listened to the Prodigy for a while, that will have to change tomorrow!
Your video made me go back and give "Jilted" a thorough spin. It had been years since I've listened to it, and was reminded of how great it is! Cheers..
Brilliant! My favorite track of that glorious CD. The 303 in combination with the that break beat. Just awesome. I will program it to check. Thanks... 🙏
@@jiltedgenerator I've done it. It sounds marvelous. It comes very VERY close to the original. But I guess that's because the TB-03 ain't the TB-303. One way or another, it gives me goosebumps all the way. Thanks for this. 😉
Brilliant video! It was all we had at the time and we loved it! I still remember the fiasco of transferring from analog to Midi. I had to go back to school to learn all about the new digital set ups!!!
Great job on recreating the pattern, can suit as good tutorial for the people who own the machine. I remember when i was like 10-11yrs and that intro with water and screaming kids made it the most uncomfortable song for next decade of my life . I love Prodigy but this song is not for everybody, I´m 32 now
This is so sick to see how much of a ballache it is to learn how to do this. It always melts my brain to think that musicians and producers were able to make all that music back then without any YT tutorials or online resources to show them how to do it.
When this came out i was like "Oh, this sounds EASY, WHY oh WHY havent' anyone done this before??" Now i see how hard the process really was. Great respect 'to ya lads that took the time to enrichen our lives with yer crazy shite
Excellent Video!! I got a Roland TB-03 and Behringer TD-3 and trying to really get my head around programming them and looking at other well known lines. 👍
For those wanting to do this on a Behringer TD-3... It won't transpose up 2 octaves, so I did high C up, C down, C up, B, C, high C up, C, B down, and then turn the tune knob to +3 to get it in the same key as the original. This is what Liam must have done in the first place.
@@jiltedgenerator Are you able to tell how "no good" Synthslines had Liam made? Or anything about used Hardware in that Track? Anything? I would love to see that deconstruction... All the Best Mate..😎🤘👊
I've never really associated Prodigy with acid before. I would have said break beat techno but this is definitely an acid track. When I think of acid it's usually something like; Acid Junkies - 181, Mike Dearborn - Birds On E or Robert Armani - Spectacular. I'm even up for a bit of Woody McBride sometimes. Not sure if they're still uploaded here but Paul Birken had a couple of good live PA sets on youtube.
