I really love this show with breathtaking english countryside, so relaxing, peaceful, the actors are very good, natural, humorous. 😍

Yes, it's the "Four and twenty blackbirds" line taken from the English nursery rhyme "Sing a Song of Sixpence". Credit to the fantastic, Ronald Hazlehurst (13 March 1928 - 1 October 2007) who I understand wrote all the instrumental music for the show.

I just found out there was a First of Summer's Wine that centered around these men about WW2. Also, Roy Clark produced it. I'm going to watch it.

I've been watching on PBS and now you tube for the last 30ty years now I set the timer on my TV bring up Summer Wine and try to doze off.

The only thing I don't like about the "Last Of The Summer Wine," is the cropped scenes they removed about 1/5th of the margins.
To bad they didn't bring a set of loppers and a machete.

Also, is they ANY episode where that greedy old goblin gets her just deserts, as in failing to make a sale, or lose money? I REALLY want to see that happen.
