I can and will openly say this show saved my life, stress and anxiety and depression, during lock down even worse than ever and I started watching this show again, and I'm only 40 but this show is not just a life saver but is at the top of all comedy's
The last of the Summer Wine is for all ages groups , wonderful to hear how much it helped you and hope you are doing ok now , I use it as a way of convincing myself that it's ok to be happy and not work so hard. Best Wishes from the West of Ireland.
ME TOO...LOVE THAT SHOW. I WOULD WATCH IT WITH MY MUM ......WE LOVED THE CJARACTERS & NOW MY MUM HAS PASSED I STILL WATCH IT & GET A LITTLE TEARY EYED WHEN THE MUSIIC CAME ON.....BUT I THINK IF ALL THW LAUGHS WE HAD & FEEL BETTER. I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO HEAR HER LAUGH.
these oldies are all the best just like all the other golden oldies before the world went mad and political correctness took over with all the mind washed groups around; it was all good fun thank god i was born in the 40's.i have seen the best and heard the best music.
You know, looking back at this fantastic classical sitcoms like On the Buses and Last of the Summer Wine, makes me wish I was born in the 60's/70's instead of the 90's! I'm pretty sure life was much more peaceful back then than it is now!
I could not watch the first three seasons as the accent was too strong and I did not like that the women were not as involved and they all smoked. Did not like the third man, whose name I cannot recall.
You could tell compo was going to scare a woman by showing her the inside of his matchbox like he does from 21:06 to 21:24. That blonde haired actress had a good scream.
I was mad about Wesley th mechanic he was a local dramathis not a professiol actor but an ordinary painter but he was good so were the rest .saw this tonight i had pains in my sides .
so many people say it should never have finished. true it was sad but we have to be honest here by the time it came to an end they must have been out of all ideas for stories. how long can a show like that have kept going.
the song lyrics playing in the background in the pub sounds like: " Love those vows of silence...la la la la...love those vows of silence, la la la la la"
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
I would have loved to have 👀 seen a final episode where "You Know Who" ends up in the Hospital 🏥, , and wakes up to find they took his clothes away and BURNED them!!!
Unlike Clegg, Sallis was reportedly a "devious" ladies man Known for his self-effacing and meek persona, Sallis was once the subject of tabloid chatter over his infidelity, the Guardian reports. He married actor Elaine Usher in 1957 but they separated at least 16 times before she divorced him in 1965

Absolutely love this show, I watch it every evening
When this came on my feed ,I appreciated it for how funny it is without any profanity & was well written. In 2024 , it is a treat to watch.
It’s hard to think this terrific comedy never won any awards after more than 30yrs.Great characters never forgotten.
Wow. I guess I just made an assumption that it did. That's really quite sad.
Totally agree with you it was such a g8 show at least still watch on utube just fantastic.
I totally agree all incredible characters especially my favorite compo 😂😂 and cleggy and Nora batty 😂😂😂😂 Should have won many tv awards
And great to see it on drama channel and gold
Maybe their award was an audience for years even after the last show!❤
I've always loved this show.
My grandfather sometimes drank his tea from a saucer. I’d forgotten about that.. Thank you for the memory. ☺️
Ha Ha
What I'd give to bring back those days

Cleggy and Glenda were always my favourite! 😁
This of course should be watched on a Sunday evening after a bath and some tea....Seymour was funny!!!!
He should have been a Doctor Who Doctor if you ask me. He has the right personality for it.
Michael Everest and sexy as hell,
1am on sun drinking peppermint herbal tea and watching this 😊

Love it!! I watched this show as a child. It's great to watch it as an adult.
ME TOO, ALSO BENNY HILL, ALSO NODDY...... WHEN I WAS REALLY YOUNG, & THE LONDON PALADIUM.....& I ALL GREAT MEMORIIES.🤣🤣
ALSO... ROGER MOORE "THE SAINT"! .....COROMATION STREET......ENA SHARPLES ,& MINNIE CALDWELL.......THE GOOD OLD DAYS.
R.I.P. Howard. (Robert Fyfe).
25:54 love the way Compo pushes Clegg, into the cafe. Like a school boy trying to embarrass his mate.
Is one of the greats they don’t make programs like it any more I got all the dvds 32 of them
I think last of summer is Avery fine series of shows ,they are one of my favorite.
One of the best episodes ever.
all are good. compare to any today`s
programes
The writing in this show was outstanding !
It's one of the best comedy ever
This was the first proper episode I watched of LOTSW 10 years ago and also one of my favourite episodes of the whole series!!
l ❤ them wish life was a easy as they show .
Every woman needs a best friend like Marina. She is always such fun and willing to go for anything.
Great for educational purposes was marina 😂😂😂

What's the use in asking him?!
He didn't even know if YOU were 'ere!
🤣🤣🤣
Grew up looking forward to Saturday so I could watch this, keeping up appearances, are you being served and Dr. who
exceptionally splendid, very satisfying,throughout
Yes, still children inside all of us are! Oh to be them!
The comment about the ashes (for those of you who dont know) relates to the MCC cricket team versus the Australians. Now look it up on TH-cam...
"I think, so long as there is people prepared to kiss Nora batty then we might still recover the ashes"
Such a delight. These are always wonderful.
Marina - one of the nicest woman in the series.
Always smiling and up for a bit of fun.
RIP Juliette Kaplan , who played Pearl has died today
RIP Pearl/Juliette
Very sad to hear that, she was my favorite!
She suffered for her role wearing skimpy clothes in cold outside scenes
Sorry referring to Marina
She was perfect for her character in LOTSW. what a great actress sadly missed. RIP..
love the first 1-3 seasons the most , but i love how they added "the Ladies " and most of all the Dame ; with all the Compo era~ Joy !
I could not watch the first three seasons as the accent was too strong and I did not like that the women were not as involved and they all smoked. Did not like the third man, whose name I cannot recall.
When the bbc was entertaining, a lot of years ago!
Bring it Back
great show
His obsession with Nora Batty is priceless.
I liked the shows with Brian Wilde the best
Cleggy looks young here in 1989 , him being 68 years old, eh?
It can take years to get a good TIMID, if you're starting from Scratch.
LOVE MARINA!!!!
that Throaty Voice is A turn on.
Reminds me of Tampon Queen Camilla…which woman came first…please somebody re-master these series
Mavis darling, you keep knitting! We totally have cold winters in the third world.
Can you get these on dvd?
Yes you can
You can get box set
Last of the summer is very good but I enjoyed the First of the summer even more.
I do miss Foggy?
So sad all these actors are dead 😭😭
Marina 💓 😊
gorgeous sunday nights
so many people say it should never have finished. true it was sad but we have to be honest here by the time it came to an end they must have been out of all ideas for stories. how long can a show like that have kept going.
Bah ha ha ha...so funny!
Marina is only one keeping town livable!😇
Norman Clegg, my role model in life, is VERY timid and CERTAINLY gormless. I worship in the COC [church of clegg]
A 3/8ths spanner on a 2CV? Then Barry passes what looks like a 5/8ths! Brilliant series of course.
Funny how Nora knew where the bedroom was
the song lyrics playing in the background in the pub sounds like: " Love those vows of silence...la la la la...love those vows of silence, la la la la la"

Nora Batty was the best! Great actress!
i love it and I am only10
I know right!! I was 12 when I first started watching this show!!
Ivy And Nora Batty were Full Figured, I Don't Blame Compo For Having the Hots for them.
+Debbie Reeves I love my Full Figured Women.
Can you crop it and make it more blurry?
Has anyone ever wondered what was in Compo's matchbox?
What year was this one... Ta
If it's with Seymour it will be between 1986 and 1990. Wally is no longer there so it would be 1987 or later. Joe Gladwin died in 1987.
lovely
Is Mavis Poskitt related to Adrian Poskitt that Judd spoke of in "Short, Back, And Palais Glide"?
Funny thing Nora knew where Norman's bedroom was
I suspect all council housing had exactly the same floor plan and format.
Wonderful show reminder of Happy days before the BBC became political correctness mind police
Pastor Flaps Pity Compo’s actions are considered too offensive these days, I love the relationship between him and Nora.
Did anyone else spot Thelma Barlow (Mavis , Coronation St) in the pub scene at 22.00?
I WATCHED CORONATION STREET MANY YEARSAGO IN ENGLAND., MINNIE CALDWELL & ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS..
I can't get last of the summer wine from beginning to end
😀😀😀😀
Could you please re download them, please, they are blurry on tv screen
Once you get the hang of the accent it's really funny. All those old men and women. 😂
Classic. Jesus saves
Is he the key master?
Who's Mavis Poshkit?
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."

Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
Wow. Marina doing something useful for once.
They changed the Font on the credits from this episode.
DAFT DEVIL
10:48 The pc thought police would probably find this comment offensive now. After all, mixed race marriages are virtually compulsory now!
I would have loved to have 👀 seen a final episode where "You Know Who" ends up in the Hospital 🏥, , and wakes up to find they took his clothes away and BURNED them!!!
They all run out and glendas laughing her head off
I worked
With
😅😂🤣
I only like the shows with Bill Owen.
Unlike Clegg, Sallis was reportedly a "devious" ladies man Known for his self-effacing and meek persona, Sallis was once the subject of tabloid chatter over his infidelity, the Guardian reports. I wish compo and Nora Batty got married
