Looking to pick one of these up. How do you use fly line with the lillian string?

I just make a slip knot at the end, works perfectly

Tie off a small loop in the fly line. Make a loop from about 6 inches of backing. Hitch the backing loop to the line loop. The hitch the backing loop to the lillian. Use a tapered fly leader with a loop to loop hitch connection on the other end. I tie a tiny ring to the end of the leader and then tie tippet on to that... good to go... But beware... with the tiny ten you can have too much line pretty quick and too much line on a Tenkara can become hard to handle and cast. So you will have very little actual fly line and you will trim the leader a bunch, too. I have found best not to have the total line... backing, fly line, leader and tippet... Not to exceed 1.5 x the length of the rod. so the tiny 10 is about 5'... so... no more than 7.5' of total line to play with. Have fun. I love mine. I have a very high quality Tenkara rod that costs a LOT more than my Tiny Ten... and the Tiny Ten is just as much fun.
