    Thank you for explaining it for individual's like myself who never took a woodshop course in high-school or know all the specific jargon that defeats the purpose of an intro tutorial. You literally solved 3 simple issues I was having with this video! Thank you!

    Like some others I’m coming to the world of power tools late in the day and with no history of fatherly advice in such matters.
    Also I’m not an artisan by personality so what I do learn I learn slowly and quite self-consciously.
    This video really helped.
    Thanks very much.

    For a such a simple tool these things are very intimidating for a newbie so I kept using a hand saw for 2x4 cuts. Now I can actually use one of these and feel confident. Thanks!

    I watched a bunch of these type of videos on a circular saw before but this one is by far the BEST, most informative and concise video on circular saw out there. Well done, lads!

    Don't forget to NEVER use gloves when working with a circular saw! The glove can snag the blade , if by chance you somehow get your hand in the way , and pull the fingers into the blade.

    Dude. Thanks for the video. I just watched this once and been very careful for my very first use of the tool and made sure the blade edge is enough to cut the desired thickness i want in the wood. It was a clean cut(given there's a small error between).

    Informative video! I am on a budget and looking for my first saw. I am interested in the corded Ryobi circular saw. I noticed on the Home Depot website, that they have 13 Amp, 14 Amp, & 15 Amp versions. Other than their 1 Amp differences and pricing, should I just get the cheapest one (13 Amps)? What's the noticeable difference from 13 to 14 Amps, or 14 to15 Amps? thx

    Does it matter if the blade is to the stock side or waste side? I would think the motor over the stock side would be better if possible? I also have a left handed saw, I’m right handed, so no really different in use, right, other than a left hand crossover? The left handed saw is just easier to see the blade.

    Does it matter which side of the shoe rests on the off cut? I have a righty saw but feel more comfortable making cuts from the left side. Am I compromising on result/technique or safety by doing so?

  • @00zuu00
    @00zuu00 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    During the cuts the work piece moves a lot! Always work on stable surfaces, it is safer and you will get better results.

    But if you’re cutting a long 2x4 in half and you don’t have the other end supported, then the wood will split off before the cut is over. This leaves a big splinter on one half and a big gash on the other. I made it work by getting somebody to hold the other end, but is there some other way to fix this?

    Also ditto the 3:30 fail comment. A level is to tall to fit under the motor when properly cutting. Use a framing square, straight edge, or other sheet good factory edge of size/thickness similar to a drywall t square.

    Will a 165mm blade fit a circular saw with 160mm blade, the bore is the same on both blade 20mm?

  • @Mentorcase

    And no mention of which side of the line the blade falls on?

    • @conwaytwittyisalive9883
      @conwaytwittyisalive9883 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no difinetive answer for that. If you measure a board that needs to be 52" and a tight fit, you cut to the outside of the line. If you need it to fit exact you cut directly on the line. If it can have wiggle room, cut inside the line.
