Modern split a/c can control the dehumidification, as well as are heat pumps and can push heat instead of cool as well. So it ticks multiple boxes to spend a bit more to get one. Amazon has them about 800 bucks that could do a small 5x5-5x10 maybe.
My Mars hydro 600w (700w output) increases temperature by 5 degrees celsius 22 at night with lights on, 28 during day + 3 degrees if my A/C is off.. btw I have 3 tents 1 veg 2x flower, LED'S are not as great as people think. LED is an option for decreasing watts for same results in grow (lumens & overall coverage by cm)
@@scapeallday1414 why are you using crappy old mars hydro 600s? atleast get 1000s if youre going to talk shit. those 600s only pull 100w by the way, the 1000w ones pull 120... vs pulling 100 watts to put out 1000 watts with regular bulbs that raises temp by tons.
You want the ventilation system w/ scrub filter to vent out side the room that the air is coming from so you constantly have new air as opposed to your plant "rebreathing" the air. It needs fresh co2 to consume ... You could vent in same room if you use co2 canister...or could open the window...but then no hiding the smell.
@@TheShleafHerder the question is about the C02. If it's not the same air that is recirculating, the CO2 would be lost and it would be a big waste of money.
You can recirculate the air on a closed loop sealed system if you supplement CO2. It ends up being less efficient for the air conditioner but saves you money on co2 overhead if you're supplementing.
Can i use the same air in the room if it is being moved around and cleaned with a carbon filter im new to growing and i dont have a way to circulate fresh air from the outside to my basement
Yes you can. You can have a completely sealed environment called a lung room. You will have to supplement CO2 and likely need a dehumidifier and air conditioner.
The closed light system saves you$ on heat removal and you can get much closer, with fans on canopy! It May not seem like much but your ac would be running alot!
@@Epiphalactic i use both, led in the summer and hps in the winter..... after using my gavita 1300 for the first time ive ben impressed!!! i think ill continue using my led
Referring to the last diagram : What about the negative pressure in the room? if it's a seal room, and air is being pulled from the room into the tents through the bottom vents, and then exhausted through the top, where is the new air coming from? How would there not be negative pressure?
The whole idea of a true sealed room is to have no air exchange between the grow space and outside the grow space. There may be slightly positive pressure from the oscillating fans and air from the a/c and dehum but the room shouldnt really be pressurized. There is no need for new air because the co2 in the air in the room is constantly replenished and your a/c should be strong enough to keep it cool without venting any air or air cooled hoods. The last diagram seems pretty pointless unless you want to veg and flower plants within the same larger room or grow males in a quarantined environment. Check out urban remos sealed room
My dude at local garden center. Aka in door grow shop said don’t listen to any of you unless you are in my climate region. Kinda makes sense doesn’t it. it is a hard to kill weed and grows different in different areas or regions. I can use about half of the info in all these videos. Experiment and be patient. Room #4 question...... In that setup how do you control the two different rooms inside the main room? There is one dehumidifier in main room and the a/c heat, I see that working if you are either running 2 rooms in veg or 2 rooms in flower but without added equipment keeping VPD at the right level would be impossible. At least thats what I see, if not explain how to conquer vpd with this setup....
How can I increase the airflow in my grow closet? I got 2 house hold fans in the room. Tried cuttin a hole in the wall, and it's not enough pressure to push thru. So I've been leaving the door open for 12 of the 18 hrs light on. Tried putting a window ac that I made into a sealed ac not covering the fin vents blowing out the room with tarp covering door, and hose blowing thru a hole in tarp. I'm tryin to be atleast cheap as possible now
Looks good, I always thought with gavitas you have the light fixed higher and let the plant grow into the intensity as young plants may struggle with the light too close ?
a minisplit is meant for permanant instalation, the only advantage to a standalone ac is that you can always move it around, in/out of your tent for cleaning purposes etc.. to get a minisplit installed you probably wanna pay an hvac guy to do it
Not really. If you have proper A/C for your room you shouldn’t have a problem. I run 1000w DE gavita lamps now for 3 years and my yields are crazy more than my previous air cooled hoods. I’m doing an average of .91 grams per watt, what do I know, ha ha. Professional grows use open hoods or no hoods at all.
Be cautious about that if it's not venting outside... It can be dangerous in larger amounts and you can't detect it without equipment... I would hate to have it accumulate in areas with stagnant air flow.
Soon as you need to use a carbon filter with extraction co2 is a waste which sux it literally just gets sucked straight up and out of the room.. When I didnt have to worry bout smell was way better as co2 stayed in the room
WRONG YES cooled lights produce less light (10-15%) 550 PAR without 500 with in one test but air cooled means closer to the canopy (11 inch) measuring 650 PAR on a 1000
Grow tents need more duct whole option's! Just a thought lol. N I don't like air-cooled lights that much because they're not like the sun's natural heat! Plus the xtra uv filter like u say vid man. They are good for proper tiny spaces tho
Nice videos! Good for us visual learners. Also, "Ponics" means "works" btw.. Man-Ponics! And CO2 does drop... but one 18 inch fan is enough to mix it up in a small room like that.... CO2 it's only 1 carbon atom heavier than the air you breath, O2. More important to have correct air flow ... no stagnant air pockets... so if you can aim 1 fan right above both canopies and hit all the leaves you're Amber. Concentration more important. Just breathing increases CO2 a lot in a sealed room.
I have a question, I dont really have the funds for a Co2 tank, is it possible to fan inputting air into the room to replace c02? I have a duct fan that i can either use to export air or import air. Thanks for your time!
man i wish this was not so old because i would like to know if his thoughts on air coold lights is different now. the idea is you can run 1k watt air cooled lights way closer which on a par meter test i saw of air cooled v non air cooled the par was way higher at the same canopy temp becuase you could run these 1k lights like 8 inches from the hood. that gave 100 more par which way mroet han made up for the 10-20% loss in efficiency. numbers lie if you let em and i think you let the numbers lie to you cheif. stay stoned

co2 does sink in a stagnant air environment. But it can't resist the forces of a fan or wind movement and will circulate in the air flow..
With that many fans, the co2 does not need to be suspended above the canopy. That's overkill for sure.
Hi, maybe a stupid question :D. Is the air being sucked in the unit to be cooled down will be the same air that is going back into the room?
Sucks from filter area then returns ac vents out back
