Barry sounds like a real nice guy. I can't wait to watch him see the '34 after all those years. Bonus: This dude's a car photographer. I imagine those pics he said he has are great!
sorry to be off topic but does someone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I love any tricks you can offer me.
@Abraham Izaiah thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I wore a big smile watching this episode and hearing the stories of the evolution of the car, as every car, no matter how "finished" it is, is always a work in progress. I can hardly wait for the episode where he gets to see it again...
Good story Matt, its amazing how the chance finding of some document when cleaning out a car can lead back to decades of the car's history ..........and pics to boot, that doesn't happen very often. Cheers
Nice to see the history of the 34 tudor sedan come full circle :) And when he said "Honest Charlie's Speed Shop" It made me feel so old LOL . I remember those days (with Hot Rod City just down the street from me in Torrance Calif ) .
Wow that’s so cool to actually find and speak to the original builder , I can see the day you guy’s meet being a long and interesting one maybe even a little emotional for the cars original builder , I know any car we invest our time and efforts into become an extension of our personality’s and emotional investment, most non car people wouldn’t understand a car we build is never just a car . Great stuff and I hope you’re able to make a video of the meeting and the first time he sees it that would be something special, thanks for sharing and cheers from down under 😎👍👍🇦🇺🍻
That’s exactly what I think. I’m the 3rd European owner of a Mustang 66 which arrived in Germany 11 years ago from California, I’d love to do the same, but there is no Marty’s report for 66! Excellent story thanks for sharing!
@@IronTrapGarage i said it before and i'll say again i'm really glad it was itg that got hold of this car. could have had a far different fate and this gent may have never had a chance to see it again.
Stuff like this is why TH-cam should exist. The types of conversations you maybe got a quote or two of in Rod and Custom. So cool to hear his voice and can’t wait for him to see the car again and see what kind of photos he has of it from the 60s
I could only imagine what it would be like to be told that one of my early cars was still out there. And, in the condition that I last saw it!!! I'd be absolutely stoked to buy it back!
Listening to you guys talk made me think back to the mid 60's when I was a teenager building my first 55 Chevy and a little later a 36 Ford coupe! Those were wonderful care free days!
Matt ; the Hot Rod Gods were smiling on you to be able to get in touch with the original owner. That's so cool that you will be able to meet him also. I bet a tear will come to his eyes when he sees the old girl. Thanks for posting this history. All the best from East Coast Canada.
No question the coolest thing I've watched in some time. Hoping for a reunion but it's really great to hear this guy recall his old car, seems like a good fella, and glad it's stayed in PA. I love this car even more.
We can’t wait to get him over to see the car! Hoping to have it far enough along to maybe even just take it around the block if it isn’t fully done. So excited!
Hi Matt & Co. Wow, it's really heartwarming that you are taking the initiative to find the history of this car, keeping the car as the original builder built it is awesome. When you two meet I hope you have the camera going, my guess it will be quite emotional. Keep this up Matt, you have a viewer here for many years to come!! God Bless!!!
Wow. You lucky SOB! Knowing the history on these old cars is half the fun of having them today. Thanks for sharing the conversation. One of my biggest regrets was never taking pictures of our old drag cars and race cars. All I have today is what I can remember.
So cool that you were able to connect with the previous owner. Bet you made his year hearing from you and talking about his old car. You're a good guy Matt for putting the effort in to getting in touch with him.
How cool is that you talk to the owner of the 34 Matt that's awesome I love you are going to keep it the way he had it that makes the car even more cooler.
Well done. Brings a tear to the eye. Really great to hear more of the history on the vehicle. Hope this is motivation to get the wheels turning faster. Would be nice to reunite the original steering wheel with the car.
GREAT SHOW !!! ... So many times I wondered what happemed to my customs from the 1960s ,,, Sometimes I dream I am walking through a junkyard turn the corner and there is my panel painted 1950 Ford from 1964. ... Thanks Matt!
This is the content I'm here for ... nothing like hearing these conversations between different generations of enthusiasts swapping stories and reliving the past .
That is great that you could get a hold of of the guy that built the car can't wait to see it when he gets to see the car again you could tell he loved that thing
Can't wait for the episode where Barry sees the 34 ford the first time in over 50 yrs! Hope it happens to soon. Whatever pictures he brings will be the icing on the cake. Thanks Matt!
Just incredible that you were able to contact the original owner. He sounded so excited that it is still around, can't wait to see him see his old girl. Probably bring back a ton of memories and emotions. Nice work my friend
That is awesome, you now have the story behind the build, I hope Barry allows you to make copies of the pictures and please, video the reunion between Barry and the 34. Cheers
Fantastic phone interview!!! He's still alive...lives nearby...AND has pictures as well as, OG steering wheel.WOW! My elder friend, in Orlando, bought his '34 Tudor in 1962. It's more of a Street Rod, but I still want it. Over 250k miles!!
Pretty much every rodders warm and fuzzy there. Makes a great day. Really neat story, very lucky the guy is still here to fill in the blanks. Thanks for sharing
WOW Matt, that is such a great story!! So good of you to track that man down and document all of it. I think it will be an emotional experience for him once he sees his car after all these years..
Greetings from Australia! Who'd have thought a static camera video of a phone conversation could be so fascinating and enjoyable? I LOVED that vid!! I love your channel and the passion that drives you in your various projects. Hearing the history and back story on our cars adds so much to the experience of owning and driving old vehicles. To hear him actually remember things as you spoke to him was a bonus. Can't wait to see the reunion episode featuring you and Barry with the 34. Well done Matt!!
That was great conversation with the original owner, something you very seldom do is find the original owner, I know he will be excited to see it on the road again. Guess that shoots me out of the saddle. Take care of it guys. Freddie out!
This is so cool ! Usually by the time we get to do or try to do this the original or former owners have unfortunately passed away . I love knowing the history of a car it always makes the car more special . I like to do that in junkyards imagining the history of the wrecked cars and looking in glove compartment looking for clues . Good for you Matt !
wow what a blast to talk to the guy that had done it back in the day I'm so happy that you got a complete story on the 34 it's so hard to get a story on those old rods. The story makes this car special more than other cars that are found because most of the time you just guess what the person had in mind for their hot rod.
That’s awesome Matt, that makes the find so much sweeter, I bet that was a good feeling when he started describing the car and what all he did to it back then, I am looking for the video and his reaction when he sees the car, one thing we all always hope for is that our car lasts and someone takes car of it, I am sure he is just as happy as you are
What a fantastic video. It's always great to have some contact with a car's previous owner or family. I've got a 1947 Rover 16 (not a hot rod, just old) and a few years ago I got some photos of the car from a friend of the original owner's, and spoke to his daughter on law about the car. Fascinating stuff.
This is so neat Matt that you found the original owner and got a chance to sit down and talk to him. Hope he meets up with you someday and you can make a video of that too!
This is fascinating. Thank you for sharing this conversation with us. I’m sure that he is as psyched as I would be if someone called me about one of my old hot rods. I look forward to seeing the reunion. I would watch a channel dedicated to matching old cars with their former owners like the ones that they have now for reuniting families. Awesome channel! 👍☮️
So cool to find the guy that owned the ‘34. I love that little car, and would love to have it myself! It would be so much fun to, cruise around on the country roads, here in rural Kentucky!
That is fantastic to actually be able to talk to him about the car and it’s history But I find it actually incredible he is still alive and sounds so well and is so keen to see you and the car 👍👍😍😍
This is awesome Matt. Plus he’s a hot rod photographer. You guys should have him come out to look at the car once you get it all cleaned up and ask him to take new photographs of it. You could make a story book of the car from his old photos to present day. What a cool car with an amazing story. This is what makes your channel so special. Awesome.
Awesome !!! In my limited experience, it's rare to ever see a car you sold years later. Every car I have ever sold has been pretty clean and complete. Only ever ran across one a few years later. A 31 Model A 5 window (that I sold to my brother in late 1963 and he still has it), a 63 Impala, a 67 SS 396 Chevelle, a 48 Chevy tudor Sedan, and a 30 Model A Tudor. Only ran into the 48 Chevy a couple of years after I sold it. Anxious to see a "follow-up" on this video !!
Just goes to show that people in Pennsylvania don't move far from home . My cousin and I are 6months apart I'm 69 , has lived within a few miles from where she was raised in Philly , only one time she came to Vegas in the 70s , makes tracking someone down easy , nice always fun meeting new people and the history to go along with it. I'm really surprised he didn't keep tabs on the car knowing the dealer so well
That was cool and unfortunate. I was in touch with one of the owners of one of my cars, and it’s an interesting experience. He sounds like a nice guy. It should be fun.
Too cool !...I have often looked at old cars and said " if this car could tell a story we'll be here all night".....looks like you got this car to tell a story. I hope you video Barry and the car's reunion.
How cool was that!!!! I can't wait to see his face when he sees it in person!
Great story, imagine your hotrod preserved like that, man that’s cool
The back stories are always great and often are not so easy to discover as Matt did for this great car. It makes it that much more special.
Barry sounds like a real nice guy. I can't wait to watch him see the '34 after all those years.
Bonus: This dude's a car photographer. I imagine those pics he said he has are great!
I was smiling ear to ear watching this, SO stoked for you Matt.

That’s so freaking awesome Matt!! Knowing the history of such a survivor is so cool!!
Matt, you gotta record the reunion. Good stuff,
thats the plan!!
So exciting to hear a conversation like this, incredible.
Good story Matt, its amazing how the chance finding of some document when cleaning out a car can lead back to decades of the car's history ..........and pics to boot, that doesn't happen very often. Cheers
We cant wait to see the pictures!!
You not only brought the engine back to life you gave the car back it's life , driving and working on it will mean so much more , Bill
What an absolutely excellent phone call. Thanks for sharing that one matt 👍
Nice to see the history of the 34 tudor sedan come full circle :) And when he said "Honest Charlie's Speed Shop" It made me feel so old LOL . I remember those days (with Hot Rod City just down the street from me in Torrance Calif ) .
Old cars are so much cooler when you've got the history, Love it. Thanks Matt, Brian and Barry!!!

Almost brings a tear to your eye hearing him relive those memories. So awesome that the car is as he built it. God I hope he gets to see it after all.
I could only imagine what it would be like to be told that one of my early cars was still out there. And, in the condition that I last saw it!!! I'd be absolutely stoked to buy it back!
I would try to buy it back too !!!!
The best thing about old cars and projects are the back stories. The history is sometimes the best part of old iron.
Thanks for sharing Matt.
The best part of this hobby is the stories. Nothing better then sitting down and listening to the stories of the early days of hot rodding
Listening to you guys talk made me think back to the mid 60's when I was a teenager building my first 55 Chevy and a little later a 36 Ford coupe! Those were wonderful care free days!

Absolutely fantastic to have that history connection. Can't wait to see Barry reunited with his old car and the photos he might have of it.

That's so exciting...And what a great guy! He is going to be blown away when he starts watching your videos. I think you have a new friend.
That guy was so nice and excited about news of his old car
Once you get the car running and have the reunion, you need to submit it to the Kustomrama website. That is where there is a history of old hot rods.
Yea great idea. I do enjoy their site!

Fantastic Matt. This is such a great story, and such a great car. Can’t wait to see the look on the original owners face when he is reunited with it.
We hope to film it!!
Awesome 😎 👏 hope you get the photos 👍
Glad you found the history on that car
That is fantastic to actually be able to talk to him about the car and it’s history
But I find it actually incredible he is still alive and sounds so well and is so keen to see you and the car
👍👍😍😍
It’s so nice to put together the history on the car!
Awesome.
We cant wait to see the photos he has of the car. it would be so amazing!!
Great video it's cool that you could get all the info.
Awesome !!! In my limited experience, it's rare to ever see a car you sold years later. Every car I have ever sold has been pretty clean and complete. Only ever ran across one a few years later. Only ran into the 48 Chevy a couple of years after I sold it. Anxious to see a "follow-up" on this video !!
This is so cool!! Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
I'm really surprised he didn't keep tabs on the car knowing the dealer so well
Awesome story and awesome hotrod. I have a 1929 reo that I was able to track the story right back to original owner, always makes for a good story
That was cool and unfortunate. I was in touch with one of the owners of one of my cars, and it’s an interesting experience. He sounds like a nice guy. It should be fun.
This car would be my ultimate hot rod... colour, wheels and great history👍
Too cool !...I have often looked at old cars and said " if this car could tell a story we'll be here all night".....looks like you got this car to tell a story. I hope you video Barry and the car's reunion.
we will be sure to document the reunion!!
Great conversation! ...Newk from Kentucky
Generations pass, the thrill stays.
This is awesome! Kind of a tear jerker of joy. 👍🤘🇺🇸😊
Glad that you were able to find him. GREAT VIDEO. #STAYSAFE
Way Cool that you got to talk to him. I do need that car in my life, just saying.
