You bought my dad’s painting at curiosities! He was from Grants Pass and owned it. He wasn’t the artist. I sold it at a garage sale in Sherwood over 2 years ago. I love that painting! And I agree, it definitely needs a black frame. Love seeing its journey! Thank you🤗
Jessie, you are getting sooooo.... much more comfortable on camera. You are doing a GREAT job and becoming a natural. Just keep being yourself ,your doing well and we really like you both!😊
@@leftcoastrevivalsyou can tell… it def comes through and I came to say the same thing … you both are just a joy to watch… I laugh right along with you… I am still looking for my Jesse 😉 I started my “Christmas Market Fund” but after this video it may change to a Scotland trip instead 😉 I’m a few hours over the WA state line and I work at a Goodwill… it’s my hope one day you’ll walk through our doors!! we are actually the only store in our region that gets what does not sell in the Goodwill Blue Boutiques and online… I am amazed every day at the quality items that come through our store… where in the world did you find that jewelry!?!….you found some great scores!!! I keep saying I want to shop where you shop LOL😉❤️
Been to Neu Schwannstein a few times. Once on a field trip in high school and once with my parents and once with my boyfriend. My daughter held the tour guides hand through out the tour.
OMG!!! I live in NY now but knew the artist Stuart Mendelson from Grants Pass that painted the artwork you bought! He has since passed away. He was an amazing shoemaker as well
Fun fact. Poland sells gnomes cheaper than in Germany. Gnomes are such a tradition that you are only allowed to bring as many for your use into the country. Not enough to sell. I bought 10 for me and my mother and they let me through.
I love Scotland! We did a 3-week tour for our honeymoon in 1989. As for the "Scotch Highlands" painting ... that's sort of a faux pas! We had a driver who told us: "Scots are a people, Scotch is a drink ... but we're both quite tasty."
the round wooden box is from the European alps. 1950s ..60s, probably Swiss or Austrian. the flowers on it are the classical top 3 alpine flowers: edelweiss, gentian, and alpine rose.
I have one of those 70s lamps that goes all the way from the floor to the roof in the barn. I think everybody had one in there basement livingroom on tv.
Those coats at the beginning are Capotes made from blankets. Many re-enactors make them for events. Looks like they had some made out of Hudson Bay 5 point blankets. Over the years, I made a few for my ex for his mountain man re-enacting. Pendleton and Hudson Bay were the most common blankets used.
Oh Laura you just reminded me of my lovely, funny dad, to make us laugh whilst washing up he'd put the cat shaped tea cosy on his head, which amongst family is very cute. Not sure what the milkman thought when dad paid him for the week, stopped, chatted and neither batted an eyelid at a 6ft man wearing a padded ginger cat on his head 😂
I died when you said there is always a theme ! When I had a space to fill , my first purchase usually would set a theme , so many good memories! You guys are awesome so happy I just discovered you . Best wishes !
I can't believe I saw a red leather vintage coach bag with the 3 inch wide strap. OMG IM DYING Laura. ( it's so fun to see all the stuff ) Coach made 3 inch wide leather straps and it's very hard to find them.
Blue and white ceramic horse was lovely! The colorful mid century abstract cityscape print was good. I have a huge silk cats round frame art piece hanging in my kitchen window ( pre-qualifier...I live in Oregon and have a huge cedar in front of my window so the silk doesn't get sun damage); it's double sided so each side has a completely different cat! One of my neighbors in NYC from China had 24k gold filigree shoes similar to the silver ones; her shoe size was like a 2; so tiny.
Hi, love your videos and have learned so much from them! Just dropping in to say that the wooden 'juggling clubs' at 31:20 are actually Indian swinging clubs which were popularised in the West in the late Victorian era when the British brought them back from India. They were used for exercise, strength training and military training in India and Persia for over 2000 years. Apparently the shape of current juggling clubs descended from these but these were not usually thrown but swung (and swinging juggling clubs has become a related art form too). They come in a range of weights/sizes - some are huge! I looked into them after getting some at a car boot sale, as I am an amateur juggler.
I love the show “ the great pottery throwdown” it’s a competition show from Great Britain and so educational on how different forms of pottery are made like Raku pottery.
LOVE your videos...especially with your husband. You two are adorable! I love how you disclosed what you sold the pieces for, but would also have loved to know what you paid for them! It would definitely make me consider thrifting/flipping as a side hustle!
I love the fact that you always try to support, and teach fellow small business. Many folks are just thinking of themselves, you and Jesse are amazing😊❤ 38:38
Love when you both shop together!!🙋🏼♀️🥰Pam the hand ✋ still using the wood hand I won from you everyday, and think of you everyday too! Best wishes and lots of love! Always Pamela
You always find such beautiful things. I love how your shop is super curated, and you've "branded" your aesthetic. Laura Caldwell designer coffee table book in the near future? ❤ Jessie is hilarious! So clever! And I thought the sheep at 10:55 was adorable. Definitely off brand for you, but so funny! Thank you for the smiles!😊
A man who loves quilts warms a quilter's heart! Definitely a different frame for the picture, black metal sounds like a good idea. The frame should be wide though, at least an inch.
So glad that you decided to support local businesses in this video. So many cute places! I’m looking forward to checking out some in the Portland area in the Spring. I have that little butterfly you picked up that was broken! I found mine at Good Will last year. It was a whopping $3.99!
Laura, the other day as I was walking home from my daily walk in my town center I stopped at a charity shop ( thrift shop), i am based in the UK that’s why we call them charity shops. I got in and found a cute piece of pottery for £5 and once I got home I did some research and found who the artist is and that’s cause of the signature ( it was not that easy as it was just a stamped Y) and I found a similar one is selling for £65 on eBay. I was so happy with my self cause of the research that paid off and it made my day!!! X
I find it very hard to see the prices of the things you sale even with my readers on but im enjoying your videos so much. Love when ya'll travel as a couple as well!!! ❤
I wish I had your budget Laura! Great pottery! Loved the face art with the bird! Definitely black frame! You can really tell how the vendors work so hard to make their spaces just right! Lots of heart goes into their booths! Love when Jesse goes on the thrift trip with you! Too cute!
I very much enjoy your channel! Laura, your knowledge about ceramics and signed pieces in general is so interesting and the banter between yourself and Jessie makes me smile too. I’m sure someone has already mentions that the round cast iron with the triangle wholes in it is for baking corn bread I believe… ooo and SCONES! I just got back to your video here where you mentioned that you googled it!
I gotta say- I love the antique malls and unique resell stores you go to. They are so well curated and it’s just cool for me ( at least) to shop vicariously through you. It’s an opportunity to see such cool stuff. Although your Goodwills are exceptional, and I’m sure many will disagree- but I like the specialty shops. It’s good if you to patronize them as well. The two of you make a great shopping pair.❤My husband and I separate and then I hear a distant,”Liz- are you done yet?”🤨
I enjoyed watching and learned a lot with your thriving escapades. You really have a great taste arranging and decorating your place. I admired your taste but I'm learning. I believed I saw all your upload and enjoying everything . keep up the good work.
Ooh I’ve been to Newberg (not a popular holiday destination for someone from the UK, like I am). Stayed there in 2000 with a friend’s family. I remember a really old cinema with a little old lady in the booth selling tickets. That’s all I remember about the town 😆 Oh maybe a popular pizza restaurant, too? It was a great base for seeing Portland, Mount Hood, some beaches where The Goonies were filmed, Multnomah Falls and I also travelled on Amtrak to Seattle for the day. Great memories, I was 21 and have wanted to go back to Oregon ever since ❤
I sooooo love your channel! I’m learning so much from you , your husband, and your thrifty friends. I’m hoping to look around my neighborhood thrift stores soon..wish me luck!!!!
U2 should do videos all the time. You both are very funny so charming to watch your banter is so amusing, and I totally appreciate your breakdown of your items from purchase to selling. Thank you and keep the dynamic duo postings coming. ❤
That handpainted bowl is fabulous! Right near it were two beautiful etched champagne flutes. I also love the cloissone' enamel frame with the cat and bug.
Hi there Laura & Jesse! The cast iron wedge shaped pan is to make cornbread! You might need to season it first (so Google that 1st) before you use it to bake in. You might also use it for other quick breads, just get info on the pan 1st! Thanks for sharing your thrifting videos with us! 😊😃💕Christina 🍋
I love thrifting with you! My dad made the best Jalapeño Cornbread in cast iron skillets! I could see that in this skillet you found! What a great find!!!
Have always been a BILLBOARD reader ... even stopped to take pictures back in the day when cameras were an extra. Neon signs good too, but billboards are way better.
I have 2 of those Mexican Tonala cats. One is identical to the one in the video. Got it from a client a few years ago. I found a different one at Goodwill a few weeks ago for $4.99 in perfect condition
I love going on your shopping trips with you and Jesse !! I love you positive energy !! You are so knowledgeable about pottery and mid century !! Keep up the good work !!

No way! Things so fun. I love the cycle of vintage 😄
It's a very small world!
As a 70 year old married 47 years it does my heart so good to see the two of you in love, having fun together.
Jessie, you are getting sooooo.... much more comfortable on camera. You are doing a GREAT job and becoming a natural. Just keep being yourself ,your doing well and we really like you both!😊
I’m weirdly so proud of him 😂🥰❤️ We’re having a blast making videos together!

What does Jesse do for an occupation
Gooo Jesse! 😊
Been to Neu Schwannstein a few times. Once on a field trip in high school and once with my parents and once with my boyfriend. My daughter held the tour guides hand through out the tour.
I love these videos with your hubby. What a fun guy! What a fun time!
He really is! 🥰 It’s been so fun to share thrifting together again like old times!
I took a bus tour to the Kaiser factory. It was so much fun.
OMG!!! I live in NY now but knew the artist Stuart Mendelson from Grants Pass that painted the artwork you bought! He has since passed away. He was an amazing shoemaker as well
Wow! What are the odds! Thank you for sharing this ❤️ How fascinating that he also crafted shoes. I adore this artwork by him!
Thanks for recognizing the weather struggles of small businesses
YES put a large white mat and black metal frame around the art you bought. It will make it look much more modern.
I was thinking the exact same thing. White mat, and black frame matte finish.
Fun fact. Poland sells gnomes cheaper than in Germany. Gnomes are such a tradition that you are only allowed to bring as many for your use into the country. Not enough to sell. I bought 10 for me and my mother and they let me through.

As for the "Scotch Highlands" painting ... that's sort of a faux pas! We had a driver who told us:
"Scots are a people, Scotch is a drink ... but we're both quite tasty."
I was about to comment the same, scotch is a drink, Scots or Scottish are people.
The cast iron skillet with individual triangles is for cornbread; but you can use for anything else. Tina
Yes I liked seeing the end what it sold for. More please ❤ thanks Kathlene
So glad it’s helpful!!
the round wooden box is from the European alps. 1950s ..60s, probably Swiss or Austrian. the flowers on it are the classical top 3 alpine flowers: edelweiss, gentian, and alpine rose.
😍 Thanks for the info!
In the south we use those sectioned pans for cornbread. That way each slice has lots of crispy parts!
The thing you thought was a hat or purse or tea cozy,is actually a toaster cover.Lyatt Sandee from Ohio. 💜💜🙏🤟😊
Love the playful banter between you two, made me laugh so many times. Great pickups especially the jewelry.
“It’s Italian, I think it’s Bitossi”. He is hilarious. Thank you for sparing us, Laura. They were horrible! 😆
Oh Laura! No Toucan?
🎶Precious and few are the moments we Toucans share 🎶
Hi Laura and hubby! What a treat to have a new video to relax to on Friday night with a massive mug of raspberry and blueberry tea 🎉🎉🎉
Sounds delicious! 🫖

What I wouldn't give to be in your backseat as you guys are traveling. Oh the conversations!!❤❤❤ And the memories.
Oh Laura you just reminded me of my lovely, funny dad, to make us laugh whilst washing up he'd put the cat shaped tea cosy on his head, which amongst family is very cute. What a sweet memory!! ❤️❤️❤️
I died when you said there is always a theme ! When I had a space to fill , my first purchase usually would set a theme , so many good memories! You guys are awesome so happy I just discovered you . Best wishes !
I had to laugh at the confusion over the skillet. It's to make cornbread!!
Yup, I've made corn bread in one!
Me too…snickering here
I just came here to say it was a cornbread pan. LOL
Lol i stopped watching to say that partway through before she gave answer lol.
😂❤️
Watching before I take myself to dinner…literally lol’d @ Jesse “I think it’s Bitossi.” 😆
I can't believe I saw a red leather vintage coach bag with the 3 inch wide strap. OMG IM DYING Laura. ( it's so fun to see all the stuff ) Coach made 3 inch wide leather straps and it's very hard to find them.
Right? I was yelling at her when she was touching the plaid picnic bag "the Coach! Get the Coach", lol.
@charlottemccaig578 I used to resell them, and even I've never seen the red handbag in the thick 3-inch strap.
And in the color RED. What a beautiful vintage coach
Yep, that bag caught my eye too! I adore vintage Coach bags and that one was a beauty! 😍
I love you and Jessie together. So fun! ❤
I enjoy seeing you two thrift together. You had me laughing. Love all your videos.
Reframe your art piece to black or metal! Love ALL THE THINGS, especially all the turquoise and silver jewelry! ❤❤❤

Cast iron is for corn bread! I live in the South. It's a staple here. LOL
LOVE your videos...especially with your husband. You two are adorable! I love how you disclosed what you sold the pieces for, but would also have loved to know what you paid for them! It would definitely make me consider thrifting/flipping as a side hustle!
My husband is Tom and he is from Scotland now in Canada. We love Scotland
I love the fact that you always try to support, and teach fellow small business. Many folks are just thinking of themselves, you and Jesse are amazing😊❤ 38:38
We know Scottish Tom. He’s been our neighbors forever. Love. It’s such a small world.
Haha small world indeed! He’s so much fun!
I love the areas you went to in this video! Thanks for the road trip! Made me homesick!
At about 20:35 the divided cast iron pan is for cornbread.
Would it be snowing in the redwood forest?
I like that you showed some Disney stuff. I love vintage Disney ❤. Thank you

A man who loves quilts warms a quilter's heart! Definitely a different frame for the picture, black metal sounds like a good idea. The frame should be wide though, at least an inch.
Yes, black or cream color mat and black frame will make that painting, super fab!!! ❤

I have that little butterfly you picked up that was broken! I found mine at Good Will last year. It was a whopping $3.99!
The cast iron piece is used for corn bread or scones
Another triumph for you and Jesse, Laura. Fabulous finds, but you guys together are just magic ❤ So enjoyed this video.

Used to make cornbread. Divided cast iron
Loved your new plaid jacket. Fun shopping with you’ll.
The round cast iron divided in wedges is a cornbread pan to make individual cornbread wedge bread pieces.
You guys are so funny and sweet together!

Yes, please reframe that great piece of art you found. Black metal sounds perfect.
I loved this video with the two of you! Y'all are a great combo! I think a black metal frame would look nice.
That was truly so helpful to let us know , what the Jewelry sold for at the end . Hope you have a wonderful trip 😊

Hey Jessie how about the bar in the basement? When are we going to see it?
Ooh I’ve been to Newberg (not a popular holiday destination for someone from the UK, like I am). Stayed there in 2000 with a friend’s family. Loved the tea cozy. I’m heading that way soon. Maybe it’ll still be there. Enjoy your videos the most.
Insulators were jokingly called the poor man’s stained. They go in the window to bring color. My Dad had a collection so they make me smile
I love it when you are both thrifting together💕
My friends and I love supporting small businesses. Great idea!
The round wooden box with flowers is from Switzerland. Those are typical Swiss flowers.
Yes, they are Edelweiss! ❤
Definitely a Black Metal Frame for the artwork!!
I love you both…so happy to see a happy couple.
U2 should do videos all the time. You both are very funny so charming to watch your banter is so amusing, and I totally appreciate your breakdown of your items from purchase to selling. Thank you and keep the dynamic duo postings coming. ❤

Really beautiful finds !!! Great trip with you both !! ❤️🦘
The cast iron divided pan is for baking corn bread.🥹
It's a cast iron corn bread pan. Instead of cutting a round cake of bread, everyone gets their own section for more crunchies.
OMG your back and for conversations are so cool. Jesse is right on cool lol. both of you had me laughing lol. Sign GUY lol
Hi there Laura & Jesse! The cast iron wedge shaped pan is to make cornbread! You might need to season it first (so Google that 1st) before you use it to bake in. I love that you show what things actually sold for, and your jewelry haul was fantastic!
Love you and Jessie's banter, makes it more enjoyable
Have always been a BILLBOARD reader ... even stopped to take pictures back in the day when cameras were an extra.
Neon signs good too, but billboards are way better.
Be careful girl! I’m falling in love with Jesse! Seriously I love your bantering it brings out your personalities .
The cast iron pie looking pan is for making cornbread.
Thats a Bitossi .. Literally burst out laughing. What a fun video and its very interesting to see what some of these pieces are.
Maybe spray paint the frame in Black to see if that works better.
The metal Spanish fruit bowl - ❤❤
Awesome finds. You really have good eye in finding the treasures.❤
Cast iron pan was very good condition. Made for corn bread!
The way Jessie looked at you when you were blowing dust orbs in the car.😂😂
I kept going back to that and rewatching. I was cracking up! They are both so funny!!!
😂
Ikea’s always been mass produced but we had it only here in Sweden in the beginning :)
I have 2 of those Mexican Tonala cats. One is identical to the one in the video. Got it from a client a few years ago. I found a different one at Goodwill a few weeks ago for $4.99 in perfect condition
20:25 Everybody here down South is screaming "cornbread pan!" Cast iron makes the BEST cornbread (something my grandma taught me).
Love the art. Agree it would look so much better in a black frame.
I think the sectioned (cast iron ) pan is for cooking scones in.😊
I love going on your shopping trips with you and Jesse !! I love you positive energy !! You are so knowledgeable about pottery and mid century !! Keep up the good work !!
Jessie is so funny!
