You’re awesome Brandon, thank you for this! 🙌
I dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
My guy! You the best! Especially for people out of me who ran out of data! I can’t watch the whole video unfortunately 😂
How about the 'upside down pose', where the hair falls upward?
Portrait trick 1: a beautiful model.
I was just about to say that!!! hahahah half these poses wouldn't work on your actual paying clients............pretty girls expect to get work for free!!! I've tried some of these poses on clients and they didn't like them because it doesn't highlight their best features
Ok, but if neither the model or photographer know how to pose or otherwise get good shots, the pictures will still fall way short of professional.... posing is just one part of the equation.
Iam Think iam beautiful but all my pictures look like crap 😂
Give me beautiful model, good MUA, hair stylist, and great retoucher... and Swedish light strobe Profoto 😂
I believe the lighting is even more important. And the vibe
I am retired after 30 years as a successful portrait photographer. Back in the 1980s when I was a novice, very few photographers wanted to share their years of photographic knowledge they had garnered through photographic schools and the school of hard knocks, so I attended numerous seminars taught by the masters of portrait photography like Don Blair, Frank Criccio, Frank Kristian and Monte Zucker and others. So let's start at the beginning. IMHO the FIRST thing a photographer should know about posing is if the subject is standing with all his or her weight equally distributed on both feet, the pose will be straight and stiff and the subject will look awkward and just generally bad. ALWAYS have the subject place all their weight on the rear foot and hip (in other words shift their weight to the read hip/foot). If the subject is seated with their weight equally distributed on both hips the subject will look stiff and awkward. Have them raise the foot nearest to the camera up onto something about 14 inches tall. This will shift their weight to the rear hip and give the body a nice lean. You don't usually want the hips, body, or shoulders level.
Thank you so much!
Well done! I especially like the "why" behind each pose.
I’m glad Hector! Thanks for the comment 😊
Good to see that there are still photography channels on YT that are worth watching. Thank you
Ahh you’re the man for saying that, thank you! 🙏

This was great thanks! I prefer subtle natural looking poses, I rarely like the hands to the face poses but loved nearly all the poses here!
Great video man, this is just what you are looking for, when getting into portrait photography. High quality content, cant believe you have made so few videos when you are this good already! subscribed!
I’m glad it was so helpful and really appreciate the support/kind words 🙏
Great video, Justin. They all looked like pro models which really does make a difference. We've all done jobs with amateur models where some of them have trouble understanding left from right, up from down, in from out. Regards from a retired photographer now only doing some charity photography in the UK. Stay safe!
Beginner photographer here and Love love love this video❤.
Glad you enjoyed it! Really means a lot 😊
This was by far the most helpful posing guide I've seen!

Beautiful model
Waited for a video like that man!!!
Titouan! Whatsup brother! Glad you like it 😎
Nice video, enjoyed watching it. But I think number one is to start off with a good looking model, more important than the 14 essential poses. All your models, specially the (young) one, are amazing. Frankly she will look good in ANY pose. Your models are great, and your colours, the way you edit the images, are the key to why they look amazing. A good model is so important - she has to have character besides looks, and her expression is so important also. Keep it up, let's see some more !
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Wow! Thank you so much!

Super Great tutorials! I found your IG page because we have some common contacts..
Question for you.. even if it can change with every situation... when you shoot outdoor portraits.. what is your favorite shutter speed?
Tough to pinpoint one but I’d say between 1/50 to 1/120 probably
Love it ♥️
Love you back my friend! 😊
Thank you very much
super helpful thank you!!
Thanks Jordan! 🙏 tag me in the shots where you use some of the poses on Instagram! 😊

Late to your video here and so appreciative to have found it. An amazing number of fantastic tips. Fun listening to your large vocabulary of adjectives! Fun watching your excitement when you finally reached the #1 most flattering pose! And at 10:40 you were so close to revealing the king of tips... but you didn't. "It is so easy to shoot." Don't stop there, Justin-tell me why it is so easy to shoot! Arrgh! You didn't even have to tell me how to shoot it, only why it is so easy. Hey, gotta say, if there has ever been a photo vid with better example shots describing what you are saying, I've never come across it. Thank you so much for the work you and Cynthia put in to create this great video-as you said: She nailed it. ⭐ x 5 - 0.1 for not telling me WHY! 🤣
Hey thank you so much! I will do my best to answer it here :) which part are you referring to exactly?
@@justinlaurens Oops I gave the ending time instead of the time of your statement. At 10:12 you say the Over-the-shoulder pose is classy, it is elegant, it is easy to do. Wondering why it is easy to do. Thanks for responding.
Ah! Simply because you just need to ask your model to turn to the side then look over her shoulder towards the camera. Easy setup for amazing results! 👌
@@justinlaurens Oh, that kind of easy to do! Easy to communicate the instructions to the subject. Got it. Aww, I just knew it was going to be something technical! 😁 Thanks for the clarity.
My pleasure, thanks for the question. Have a great day/night 👍
Great video and very helpful. Just came across it. Subscribed now.
Awesome, thank you! Glad it was helpful Arun
Great channel
Great video! Would be interesting to see a similar video with male models and see how the poses are replaced and modified to create a masculine image. Well done!
That’s actually a great idea. Let me think how I can incorporate that. Thanks Guy 🙏

Appreciate it man much more content on its way! 😁👍
