The fact that we have 5 minutes without a shred of Garak really does speak to how much Bashir is a disaster Bi. And, honestly, I can't help but imagine Julian years and years later with Ezri and Garak. After all, Garak is flexible, and has matured to recognize that perfect is the enemy of good, and Ezri is a Trill, and given the presence of bonded Trill, like herself, there has to be some allowance for complex emotional and romantic dynamics.

Bashir was such a sweet loveable character on DS9. I really believe he represented the soft loving heart of Star Trek on such a dark show.
