Ken, I love the "This House" channel. So many interesting historic houses and mansions. My dad was an architect and my daughter is an architect, and I love history, so I love your choices. Also, you have such a calm, quiet voice, such a pleasure to listen to. Carry on, carrying on. ❤
What fun! A walk with you through America's for sale in real estate. Typically my meanderings in Zillow are solitary without the insightful observations. Thank you!
I love the exterior of 55 Church Street, New Hartford Connecticut 06057 and the interior of 77 Brinkerhoff Street, Plattsburgh New York 12901. I especially love the floors in the house. That fake library wallpaper got to go though. That backyard of the Ohio house is so long that the Cincinnati Bengals can play football on it. That fireplace built into the staircase is so cool. I love these home interiors that are basic but has style and not too ornate. The interior of the Arkansas house is beautiful. I love that French styled house in Dallas Texas. I'm a huge fan of the French History between 1638 and 1821.
I loved this video format. It was fun to explore with you Ken. My favorite was the FLW. I'd love to own one that is still a private residence. Thank you for the journey!
The home in New York was built for J. F. D. Lanier. He was the grandson and named for the first J. F. D. Lanier whose 1844 Greek Revival home is now a spectacular house museum in Madison, Indiana and overlooking the Ohio river.
So nice to see your face for the 1st time (for me). I really enjoy your videos and watch them daily/weekly. Your voice and descriptions in your videos are pleasing. My experience working with historical preservation societies has decreased my tolerance for youtubers who don't use the right words. Lol 😂 Your videos are short and sweet; succinctly presented, and well executed. 👍
Yes! FLW! I love this Oklahoma home. It is by far my pick of the homes here. Yes, I could live in this home with Conscious Delicious Feelings of experiencing it, daily. It does have details and furniture designed by Wright. The man was a genius bridge into the 21st Century, and he did it in 1928 - 29. He is/was the man of vision
Yes to a deep dive on any of these houses! Interestingly enough, my least favorite house was the Frank Lloyd Wright house. His architecture just isn't my style.
Stunning woodwork! Especially the floors and ceilings! Enjoyed this type of video but could you keep them to 10 to 15 minutes? One or two houses with more depth.
Thank you, for this extended look at what's available in these lovely homes. I hope to see some of them given their own, individual attention. I'm sure there is some interesting history to be found in many. I'm always glad, too, to see houses that have been restored in a manner that's respectful of the architecture. But, I do understand why certain compromises must sometimes be made. At any rate - thank you, again. This was fun. :)
As, for several years, archival consultant to the New Hartford CT Historical Society (I live in Hartford) I have passed this wonderful house many times, and longed to see the inside. Thanks for making that dream come true, if only virtually. And I've enjoyed seeing the other houses, too, as well as all your "This House" videos. Thanks.
Wow. Favourite houses were the first two and the last two. The second one was extraordinary. The interior detail and the facade. The second last one, by Julia Morgan, I'd love a smaller version of that house. Number one pick for me though is the guest house of the last house shown. That's the ideal for me. I've seen it online before. It's beautifully detailed, and perfectly proportioned. I'd love to see a video of Julia Morgans work. Thanks Ken
Affordable by Canadian standards as well. I live in Hamilton, near Ontario, and those houses at the beginning that were well under $1m, would be listed for $3m-$4m in this area. I wish I could take my Canadian money to the States to buy a huge home for a couple hundred thousand dollars.
OMG! WOW! I'M BLOWN AWAY, HOW COULD I PICK A FAVORITE..?? WAY TO MANY TO LIST!! P.S. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS STYLE OF VIDEO (AND THE LONG FORM WAS AMAZING!) I TUNE IN MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK & YOU ALWAYS LEAVE ME WANTING FOR MORE! THANKS KEN & DALTON! -BRETT ❤😆
I absolutely loved this video. I subscribe to another channel where they go through an old, historical house that is for sale. I absolutely love doing this. Thanks Ken and Dalton!! Oh, and I am a Queen Anne Victorian gal all the way! Love all Victorians, but Queen Annes reign.
@@daradoe9415 Restoration Nation with Kevin and Laine. They historically restore old houses and they also do restoration travels where they go through historical houses that are for sale( mostly in Arkansas). They are wonderful!
I know that I said Queene Annes were my favorite, but that second house in Ohio wins because of the hidden, winding stairs!!!!!! I live in Ohio and now I want to buy this house!! I only wish that I could!
This was a fun and creative look at beautiful homes built with quality and artistry. Loved the video! Our 1880's Delaware 2nd Empire Victorian has swirled plaster ceilings like the first home featured. Does anyone know when this style was first used?
Hi Ken, thanks for another exciting edition of This House. Two houses you might be interested in are Salisbury House and Terrace Hill, both in Des Moines.
Having lived in an 1823 train station for a limestone quarry converted into a home It’s was beautiful but I couldn’t imagine living in it today The city bought it because they said it had no historical value and the bulldozed it along with all the other homes on our road to build a hospital It was very very sad
lol, if i had any of these house i would take all blank walls and paper them with Disney Haunted Mansion wallpaper and most curtains replaced with torn/tattered faux curtains. Put very dark Persian rugs and use Haunted Mansion color palette. i would never ever touch any of the wood work or ceilings.i would turn each and every one of these to my own haunted mansion.👻💀😱
GOOD AFTERNOON - truly, the grandest tour of the year. These million dollar homes are AWE !!! And I'm sure the money has to be also. What a beautiful way to live ones life if you can do it. BUT as usual, if a house has no interesting history behind it, it sort of takes away from the value of the place (well, in my opinion anyway). Love your show, and appreciate your hard work that comes with it. TAKE CARE OUT THERE.
Loved the video. If money were no object, I could see myself living in any of these, even the lesser expensive homes. My favorite scenery out of them would be the one in Alton, IL just a grand view of the Mississippi river. If I were buying one after winning the lotto, it would probably be the house in Little Rock. A mix of grand old world craftsmanship, style, and southern weather during the winter 😊
I totally agree about the Queen Anne house. I personally would modernize the kitchen, and refinish the floors, but leave the other wood alone. Oh yeah, I'd probably put in air conditioning/ heating and get rid of the radiators. 😊 The FLW house I missed by a whole 1/4 century! It reminded me of the "house" in the movie North by Northwest. It also looks like a school based on the designs of of several buildings at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. There are 13 different buildings designed by him from 1938 until his death in 1959. BTW, there is another FLW house in Tallahassee, FL ( the Lewis Spring House) that he built in 1954 as a private residence. Currently, it is a museum and is suppose to have similar properties as the Guggenheim Museum. Just thought you would like to know as you are impressed with FLW designs. 😊
We have the original radiators from 1885 in our home and they work great, They are a beautiful decorative design too. But, we would like to get away from fossil fuels for heating, and after getting an energy audit, it looks like geothermal system is a contender.
You would have to rip out the old plaster walls to put in the piping, so you would have to sacrifice some of the house to update the rest. Most of these old houses have the A/C but keep the old radiator steam heat I have noticed.
Ken, if someone is talking off screen, the sound variation is a bit frustrating. I couldn’t really hear what your co-producer was saying. His voice needs to be louder and clearer. I love this format of your vid. I love Queen Anne. I’m floored at the prices. Soooo cheap it concerns me 😐
Glad you enjoyed the video! His microphone was taken out by a cat shortly after we started. In the future, we will make sure the cats aren’t allowed in while filming
I live in Nashville and I’ve passed the home on Old Hillsboro Road. The entrance is grand!! I would love to know the history behind it. I really enjoyed this video.
25:55 An add on to tgw history of Alton, it was the home of the Eagle Packet company, which traversed the Mississippi River. The Leyhes (owners and captains of the Eagle Packet company) had homes there. In sure there some really pretty homes there.
Most of these I could live in. My own home is a 4K square foot Queen Anne but it's getting to be too much now. the first one is close to mine except mine is transitional colonial; And yet, and yet there is a level where it is insane even with staff So here is a quote for you all. "It's not home but it's much" I think Katherine Hepburn about Chaplin's new house which replaced a very pleasant home & was huge cold and nearly unlivable
You should do a video on the Max Busch house in Pasadena, California. It was destroyed by a fire in 2005, but the gatehouse and driveway remain. It was featured in the movie adaptation of Clue.
Hey Ken love the channel!! I’d love it if you could do a clip on Edsel Fords house on Lake Michigan. With my best wishes to you from Izzy in Sydney Australia. ❤️🙏
I would love to see more videos about these houses and any others you find on Zillow. You do a great job on the videos. Maybe go slower when showing the pictures of the homes interior.
Not familliar with Frank L Wrights work so on a WAG I was 2 years early not bad. And I've seen very similar dining room chairs to those some place when I was reserching chair design for a project. And yes do some deep dives! you and Dalton did a great thing with this video.
In a NY winter that would not be warm & cozy Ken. My manse gets cold even with blown in insulation & high efficiency boiler. It has hit -40F/C here in MN often i cannot get it above 55 then
Of the houses you showed, the Tennessee plantation was my favorite. It reminds me somewhat of President Polks house looked like, had it survived. Very interesting tours, Ken. Thank you!
Man where are they located? I live in Maui and these would be multi million dollar properties. Is the area very undesirable? Crazy inexpensive. I love these!
It would be such a tragedy if any of these beautifully (and correctly) restored historic houses were to fall into the hands of some philistine, paint brush in hand...
Ken, I love the "This House" channel. So many interesting historic houses and mansions. My dad was an architect and my daughter is an architect, and I love history, so I love your choices. Also, you have such a calm, quiet voice, such a pleasure to listen to. Carry on, carrying on. ❤
I loved this new type of video from you.
i love this episode, Ken & Dalton! love seeing these fantastic houses & hearing your comments. keep it up!
Love those old mansions along the Main Line. 🏡
Awesome video. I would defintely enjoy hearing the history behind some of them
The wood, the stained glass windows, the wood, the staircase and much more so insanely stunning!
What a wonderful change of pace. I hope you do this type of video again. Thanks for the early Christmas gift 🎁
Nothing beats a victorian especially a queen Anne
I love the Queen Annes, but I'm gradually growing to love to my quirky 2nd empire.
I could not agree more!!!!
What a great idea for a video!
Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you so much for showing these beauties. 👍❤ It is wild to think of living in one of these houses but, the upkeep 😵
What fun! A walk with you through America's for sale in real estate. Typically my meanderings in Zillow are solitary without the insightful observations. Thank you!
I'm glad to see that I am not the only one who does this!
Thank you for such an amazing display of beauty!
I love the exterior of 55 Church Street, New Hartford Connecticut 06057 and the interior of 77 Brinkerhoff Street, Plattsburgh New York 12901. I especially love the floors in the house. The 2nd home is an absolute show stopper. Surprised on its location in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
The home in New York was built for J. F. D. Lanier. He was the grandson and named for the first J. F. D. Lanier whose 1844 Greek Revival home is now a spectacular house museum in Madison, Indiana and overlooking the Ohio river.

Please find more information about some of these houses and do a separate video on each. I enjoy watching This House

Agreed. It looked like a public library from the outside.
Stunning woodwork! Especially the floors and ceilings! Enjoyed this type of video but could you keep them to 10 to 15 minutes? One or two houses with more depth.

Check out the McFaddin-Ward House in Beaumont Texas. Now open to the public but full of wonderful stories of its use and history.
As, for several years, archival consultant to the New Hartford CT Historical Society (I live in Hartford) I have passed this wonderful house many times, and longed to see the inside. Thanks for making that dream come true, if only virtually.

This was really cool and I hope we can do this again!! I really do hope that you get a dream home one day. You'd show it so much love.
Beauty-full 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This was really great!! Thank you. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is so fun, thanks Ken. Can’t believe how affordable these beauties are (by California standards anyway)! Love to hear your unscripted narrative.
Affordable by Canadian standards as well. I live in Hamilton, near Ontario, and those houses at the beginning that were well under $1m, would be listed for $3m-$4m in this area. I wish I could take my Canadian money to the States to buy a huge home for a couple hundred thousand dollars.

More videos like this, please! Thank you for this fascinating look at some incredible properties. And for your educational and astute comments.

Is this house in tallmage
This was excellent and so much fun as you went up in price. Ken you are so knowledgeable about architecture. Are you an architect?
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I double majored in Architecture and Psychology.
I could look at Zillow all day, so I really enjoyed this. It was fun and interesting to have you point out features I might not notice otherwise. 🏡
Ken, this was a fantastic and fun presentation! Love seeing you in the videos too! Apprecaite your narrative, it flows wonderfully - thank you!

House hunting with Ken! LOL
Let's do it again sometime soon!
Loved the video. If money were no object, I could see myself living in any of these, even the lesser expensive homes.

OMG love the Queen Anne, so beautiful!
I would love to see a dedicated video on the $6.5m propery in New York. I found that home and its outbuildings intriguing.
Thank you for sharing. I loved seeing these beauties.
Ken, if someone is talking off screen, the sound variation is a bit frustrating. I couldn’t really hear what your co-producer was saying. His voice needs to be louder and clearer.
I love this format of your vid.
I love Queen Anne. I’m floored at the prices. Soooo cheap it concerns me 😐
I second the issue of the sound variation- I couldn’t hear what Dalton was saying. I had to turn on CC.
Glad you enjoyed the video! His microphone was taken out by a cat shortly after we started. In the future, we will make sure the cats aren’t allowed in while filming
Thanks for sharing, never knew the house in Alton existed, and I live close to the area
Well that was fun Ken, great job to you and Dalton!
I'd be happy to see a deep dive on all of these. Great video.
I really like this format and it’s great to see you on screen ☺️
I can't BELIEVE that Frank Lloyd Wright house was built in 1929! What an absolute and true visionary he was.
I loved this video! I’m excited to see the new videos coming from this Zillow tour
I live in Nashville and I’ve passed the home on Old Hillsboro Road. The entrance is grand!! I would love to know the history behind it. I really enjoyed this video.

Most of these I could live in. My own home is a 4K square foot Queen Anne but it's getting to be too much now. the first one is close to mine except mine is transitional colonial; And yet, and yet there is a level where it is insane even with staff

"It's not home but it's much" I think Katherine Hepburn about Chaplin's new house which replaced a very pleasant home & was huge cold and nearly unlivable
You should do a video about Pasadena, California's Millionaire Crow, or even the Procter house
Totally do another one of these videos! What a joy!
I wouldn’t turn any of them down. Great feature. Hope they all find good next owners.
Great video, Ken! Definitely some rare jewels out there!
Beautiful homes. Thanks for the tour :)))
You should do a video on the Max Busch house in Pasadena, California. It was destroyed by a fire in 2005, but the gatehouse and driveway remain. It was featured in the movie adaptation of Clue.
Someone save these gems!!! Fight boring "modern"
Hey Ken, each of these homes are spectacular!!! 🤨🤨🎄
LOVED this video….BEAUTIFUL homes!!! Loved every one of them.
Ken, great job as usual, seeing all that beautiful woodwork and floors, I have a stiffy….lol
0:45 $160k in NY?!?! Sign me up, thats cheaper then my 1970 (one I really like, so this is rhetorical) Arts and crafts inspired home!
I would love if you would do a deep dive on any of these homes.
I enjoyed this reaction video. I would like to see more in the future.
Great video. Some real gems. Unbelievable value on some of them.
Love this type of video!! ❤❤
Love this. Thank you, gentlemen ! Please do Deep Dive away..
Not familliar with Frank L Wrights work so on a WAG I was 2 years early not bad. And I've seen very similar dining room chairs to those some place when I was reserching chair design for a project. And yes do some deep dives! you and Dalton did a great thing with this video.
Loved this, thank you!
6:07 I can’t fathom these prices. $595k. Unbelievable. My 2 bed apartment in Sydney cbd cost 4 x times house number 3. Wtf!! 😳
In a NY winter that would not be warm & cozy Ken. My manse gets cold even with blown in insulation & high efficiency boiler. It has hit -40F/C here in MN often i cannot get it above 55 then

Man where are they located? I live in Maui and these would be multi million dollar properties. Is the area very undesirable? Crazy inexpensive. I love these!
My dream house is a Gothic Revival one made of stone.
Also, please toss my vote for more of these types of videos in the hat. 😊
I really enjoyed this video.
Also 266 summit ave, St. Paul mn
Number 5! Where is it located?
Look in St. Paul mn there is a literal castle for sale
You should buy it
@3:57 the house in Ohio has a unique staircase. Instead of a banister it has walls. Could it be original?
Location is a big issue.. The New York State houses are in the "rust belt"...
1:20 how can this house be only 160,000?
Must be something wrong with it
❤😊❤😊❤
It would be such a tragedy if any of these beautifully (and correctly) restored historic houses were to fall into the hands of some philistine, paint brush in hand...
3:32 $450,000 how is this home this price?
You were ready to move on to the next, but I wasn’t. 😡
Back when craftsmanship meant something... everything is just cheap, disposable and boring
Hill road is Sally Jessy's house! U should do a video
