My daughter had her twins at 25 weeks. Unfortunately one didn’t make it. The other one stayed in NICU for 86.5 days. It was really HARD! She’s 5 and perfectly fine and healthy now.
I cannot even begin to imagine how painful that experience was (and still is) for her. My heart shattered reading this. Your daughter is an unbelievable fighter and such a brave, strong woman. An incredible mom. I am sending you and her all the love in the world. Thank you for sharing. I wish I could give yall a big hug. ❤
Neonatologists and NICU staff literally help babies finish the growing they were supposed to do in the womb. They are heroes, and are absolutely incredible. And those nurses, they know what they're doing, they know those babies, and they remind me of lions protecting cubs when the parents go home to rest. And they take care of the most fragile little babies while making it look easy. They leave me speechless.
They are TRULY some of the most selfless, incredible, beautiful hero’s on this earth. I am so unbelievably grateful for every NICU nurse on this earth. Not only do they have to nurture those tiny little babies and keep them alive, but they have to deal with panicked, emotional, terrified parents! So many nurses helped calm me down in moments when I was at my breaking point. They really do it all.
I would just like to say how much I appreciated your NICU videos of the baby. My youngest was born 11/26/21. I was in the hospital for a month before with pre-eclampsia. I had to have an emergency C-section at 29 weeks because she had stopped growing. She only weighed 1lb 9oz. We ended up having to take her to another hospital that was 4hrs away. Watching your experience and you expressing what you were feeling during this time was so validating for me. I would watch your videos during my "lunch" at the hospital and just sob because you were able to vocalize every thing I was feeling. I couldn't be more grateful for you being so vulnerable and choosing to share this extremely hard time of your life with the world.
Former NICU mama here! I had my baby at 34 weeks, and then he was in the NICU for 7 weeks. During those 7 weeks I would go back and watch your NICU vlogs and I would cry with you. It really helped me through one of the most difficult times of my life so THANK YOU. ❤
I can remember vividly you sitting in your car in the hospital parking structure, balling your eyes out because you had to leave Maisy alone for the first time since Wesley was able to go home. I said so many prayers for you, begging god to bring Maisy home. My mama heart just broke to see you so distraught. You've come a long way baby(s). 😉
My heart physically felt pain. It was agonizing. And that was NOTHING compared ti what so many other moms go through. Thank you so much for your prayers. ❤
Watching this as I breastfeed my newborn twins 😭 I was lucky enough to carry them to 37 weeks and they didn’t need the NICU, but I landed myself in the adult ICU 6 days after their birth with severe postpartum preeclampsia, and it was absolute torture being separated from my babies and toddler, even just for 2 days. My heart breaks for every NICU parent because I can’t even imagine
My girls were born at 31 weeks, came home after 45 days. Then my twin B got sick again and was in the hospital for an extra 21 days. My twin A cried all night, called out for her sister for the first two weeks
Thank you for posting still, you are making our days possible to live sometimes ❤️ I recently learned details about on-going war in Ukraine and I got terrified as I live in Poland right next to them. We all thought that this conflict wouldn't take this long and be this bad... As I heard what is going on I got the worst anxiety, I couldn't stop panicking, some experts said that it would take 1,5-3 years for Russia to go for Poland. I'm young, I speak English and I'm learning German, I have more options, but I can't imagine my mother and grandma (who already lived through world war II) to be able to run away with me, inflation ate our money already anyway... When my anxiety got this bad I started literally digging in your old videos, from pandemic days and early twinsies after birth vlogs, and it took me back to better time when I felt much more hope for existence
COLLEEN!! scent cloth: the “pillows” from the psychic video!! edit: i won one of the goody bags from the fundraiser and i wore both lipsticks recently and they stayed perfectly and were the best color. thank you!!!
My boyfriend was born 3 months early and weighed 2 lbs and lost weight and was 1 pound and some ounces. He’s 21 turning 22 and his mom still gets emotional when she thinks about those two months he spent in the NICU. it’s something a mother forgets and it’s crazy how the feelings come back just like that. NICU parents are so strong.❤
I have been rewatching your older vlogs (because one vlog a day from you just isn’t enough 😊) and have to say I think your vibe is so good right now. You seem calmer and just more relaxed about things and it is lovely to watch. Your videos are so calming and the interactions with your kiddos is adorable; they are sooo lucky to have you as their mum. You have come such a long way and gone through so much it has definitely changed you, I think, for the better. I saw someone say on a different vlog that things don’t happen to you, they happen for you and I think this is so true for you. You are just amazing Colleen, keep being yourself, we all love you 💕💕💕💕💕
Oh Colleen I remember how heart breaking it was watching it for the first time.. that was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to watch again. I could not imagine actually being there. You are so incredibly strong. My heart is broken for the people that have to go through a nicu experience. You are an amazing mom and you always will be❤ Also, I am so glad you got yourself the piano you can just tell how much joy music brings to your life. You smiled the entire time while talking about it. It’s so beautiful that you have found something not only as an outlet but also a passion, love you and so proud of where you’re at right now even if you feel like you aren’t where you want to be. I promise you’re doing better then you think❤
Thank you for showing your nicu journey. My baby wasn’t breathing when she arrived so she was sent to nicu right away. Because of your journey, I wasn’t as terrified. I knew it would be okay and to trust the doctors and nurses. Thank you for everything you do.
I gave birth to my daughter at 37 weeks and she ended up in the NICU, and it was just a heart ache. She was only in there for 6 days but it was the longest 6 days. I couldn't imagine all you moms that have been there longer. I couldn't imagine. Worst part was getting discharged and going home to your house that's all preped for baby to walking through the door with no baby. Big kudos and props to all the nicu nurses out there. Yall ROCK!
I would be all the way down for a 76 hr TS video. I've been a STAN since Rep and she's only gotten better as we've aged. My sister, cousin, BFF, and I had previously made plans to see the Eras movie when it came out bc I was going to be in town visiting the weekend it came out. My 14yo nephew died at the very beginning of October and deciding to still go see the movie was the first "normal" feeling thing we did. TS has a song that fits almost every emotion/situation it feels like. Having your vlogs and Relax back has also helped make life feel normal. After watching you for a decade, it's like you're a friend. You were missed.
TTQ: when you’re having hard or bad days, do you let the kids see or do you try to hide it? I have a really hard time letting people know how I’m actually feeling and accepting help on bad days. A quote I LOVE that helps me is “There are good days and bad days for me - even now. Don’t let the hard days win.” -Sarah. J Maas. Keep your head up queen 💜💜💜
Tortilla talk question: Hey Colleen! ❤ Have you ever heard of the Myer-Briggs personality test? If not, I thought it would be interesting if you and Erik both took it on the podcast for a segment. It's a quick online test which categorises your personality and then gives you a further analysis. I thought you would like it, since you love categorising people based on for example what cereal, furniture or household item they would be.
TTQ: Hey Colleen! I was just wondering why we never see that pearl necklace you got for Maisy anymore? Love you so much and it’s so good to see you being so positive first thing❤
I can’t wait for your “be brave” tattoo! I think it’s perfect. Also how in the world did you think you could watch nicu footage and not cry?! I sob every time I watch those and they aren’t even my kids! 😂
I remember the first time I saw you pregnant with the twins. Jonathan & Drew were doing a makeover of Flynn's bedroom. They did an awesome job of capturing Flynn. I noticed you had a TH-cam channel. I have been watching every time. I loved "The Bros". That is how we came to be. I love watching the kids as they grow. The only reason I could tell the babies side by side was that he was so much bigger.
Long time, but silent follower here ! I just had to comment because you helped me so much from your experience with your pregnancy with the twins. I was pregnant at the same time with my first, and had him at 37 weeks because I had a rough time with my blood pressure. I didn’t expect to have to have him in the nicu, but because you talked about it openly, I knew I wasn’t alone with what I was feeling. Flash forward to being pregnant with my daughter, I had to be induced at 32 weeks so again another nicu stay. I distinctly remember all of the things you would talk about that was hard, and I felt the exact same way you did. It was so painful splitting your time. The post partum anxiety was absolutely cruel. I would convince myself I would never see my baby again if I left the hospital, or my son if I went to the hospital. It helped me more than you’ll ever know, so I thank you for sharing the extremely vulnerable experience 🩷
I love watching your NICU footage. We’re 21 years past having a NICU baby and anytime I think about the day I had to go home without my baby I still cry. You go right ahead and get emotional. ❤
My son was born a preemie at 35+ 2. He was so smol 4lbs some oz. We spent 11 days in the nicu. I was always so proud of him when he reached his little milestones!
I was an early baby. A little less than a month.when I was born I was all people and they had to bring me to the NICU immediately and revive me. Thankfully I survived but was in the nicu for a long time. Then I was about to go home but I didn’t pass the car seat test and had to stay even more weeks. My mom was super sad. I think I was in the nicu for 3-4 weeks. So glad your baby’s are now healthy and strong!!!
While nurses and physicians get recognized in the NICU, I’d love to highlight the NICU dietitians. I’m a dietitian in an outpatient setting but people don’t know that dietitians exist and what we do. The dietitians (RDs) in the NICU calculate the babies nutritional needs that goes through their NG tubes. In my internship, I went into the NICU to meet the beautiful babies, learned how to calculate their nutritional needs, tasted the formulas and helped the NICU RD present to medical residents. Shoutout to all the healthcare professionals that rarely get recognized but are equally as important as MDs and RNs.
It’s so wonderful to see how so creative Flynn is, I feel like he’s gotten just so big outta no where!! lol and thank you for re opening this nice chapter up with us. It’s shows pure venerability and strength. Love you mama! ❤
I love when your videos are longer I’ve been missing them lately 😂 I relate to you very much so it’s cool watching someone on here that I can relate to . So amazing seeing the kids grow❤️ I have three kids as well and it’s beyond amazing being a mother ❤️
No because, it was like a few months hearing about the twins being born and after watching your videos again, I was so surprised at how fast they grew 😭
That's my new granddaughter, Marielis right now, she was born a little early and has oxygen and a feeding tube and a million tests being done but little by little she is improving... Your videos of the twins being in the NICU helped prepare me for this.❤❤❤
My son is in the NICU now. My water broke at 22 weeks and 2 days and I was on bed rest in labor and delivery for two and a half weeks. He was born on my husband and my 3rd wedding anniversary at 24 weeks and 4 days weighing only 1lb 9oz. He got very sick and we almost lost him around Christmas, but he fought to live and today he is exactly two months old. We hope we’ll be able to bring him home around his due date at the end of March. We owe our lives to the NICU nurses, neonatologists, nurse practitioners, and respiratory therapists. NICU babies are the strongest and most inspiring people in the world. I can’t wait to bring our baby home!
I started watching your vlogs when you did the interview with Mama Dr. Jones and I was obsessed with birth stories. I believe that the universe showed me your videos to help me through my own NICU experience. Thank you for sharing your story!
TTQ: I was wondering are the kids going to school or maybe in the near future or are you homeschooling them? I would love to hear the stories when they meet new kids and how they interact with them.
🥺I have had tears in and off all day. Then feeling how you might have felt and how all NICU moms must feel… I just can’t imagine the torture to leave them!! I feel super spoiled. My daughter went home at 2 days old and the next day was readmitted for a couple weeks but they had her in a full sized room on the children’s floor so, I got to stay with her 24/7. I slept there, showered there, ate “her meals” called up from the cafeteria (and pumped for her). I just know that it isn’t normal and I feel so blessed BUT it makes my heart break for you all! ❤👩🏼🍼👨🍼
Your hair is beautiful today Colleen. I love your hairstyle. Seeing how small the twins were in the NICU, and now how big they are is sweet. I’m sorry you had to go through that experience. However, you were in amazing hands there and so were the twins. I remember watching those vlogs when you had the twins, and watching you all go through that crazy rough time, but now your babies are home and happy, silly, crazy, goofy, sweet, funny, fun little ones and that is all that matters. Your entire family is sweet and loving. I love all of your vlogs. Keep up the amazing work! Tortilla Talk Question: do you ever listen to any of Talor Swift’s older songs like Love Story, Mine, ect.? I like a lot of her older msuc. One of my favorite songs by her is Mine and also We are Never Getting Back Together. Do you ever find yourself listening to those a bunch?
Thank you so much for sharing your life. I honestly appreciate you allowing all of us to watch little fragments of your children's journey and growth. It is so heartwarming!
I’ve literally never been this early to any video ever, but I guess I took my lunch at just the right time! 💗 Just wanted to say I’ve been loving your “Colleen’s Crystals” segments. Ive always been interested in rocks and gems and would pick up pebbles around my house that always sparkled as a kid (I mean I do it now too as an adult). I’ve learned so much watching this segment and it’s made me want to go rock hunting even more! Never apologize for liking what you like, embrace it! You never know who you might connect with/inspire because of it. 🌻
PLEASE react again to the psychic reading for the twins ❤️ Also, can you please let us see Maisy with her twin stroller? You showed it to us before Christmas but we never got to see her with it.
This is how I discovered you! I was searching for what to expect in the NICU as I was trying to pass the time while on bedrest in the hospital knowing I would be delivering early. My daughter is just under 3 months younger than the twins.
TTQ! Girll!! I was watching the old psychic reading on Flynn and the twins and then one on the twins she talked about your podcast!! She says that you will be doing some to all show or co-host with someone! That’s crazy!!
I have younger twin brothers, they are not identical, but as tiny babies they looked pretty similar. I was not even 2 when they were born. When they were really tiny babies, only my mom and I could tell them apart. Young children's brains are wired to recognize faces. They are better at it than adults. I guess it's a survival skill needed when very young. Love seeing how much your kids have grown and what happy little people they are today!!
Oh wow, this gave me so many flashbacks to my own experience with NICU. My daughter is 18 now, she was born 8 weeks early weighing just under 4lbs and was in hospital for 17 days. Longest 17 days of my life. It's still amazing to me looking at her now to think that she was so tiny and fragile. Doing all of that with one baby was hard, can't imagine doing it for two.❤
Tortilla Talk Question: Hey Colleen!! I’m getting married in a month and I am SUPER excited!! I still just wanted to ask you if you had any advice for a newly wed couple or just marriage in general? Love you so much and can’t wait for your next vlog!!💛😊 (Also, my name is pronounced “uh-leeth-ee-uh” if you’re wondering!😄)
my son was born november 7th 2021 5 weeks early so i get it , i had to be away from my 9 year old , 6 year old and 1 year old this was just 5 weeks after losing my mom to a heart attack :( and then january 2nd 2022 my home burnt down lost everything
Tortilla Talk Question: Have you considered that you may be on the spectrum? I was recently diagnosed and I see so many similarities between us. I think it would be interesting if you took the RAADS-R (a free online test). You might discover another part of yourself and even learn to love those parts of yourself that make you feel "different".
I watched your special again today! It made me feel a lot of things. You are such an amazing comedian, singer, and show-woman! I remember seeing the show in person and freaking out, like screaming, when Erik came on stage. There are so many beautiful and hysterical parts! Lots of love!
Hi Colleen! Will you do a video of you reacting to the video where the psychic made predictions about Maisy and Wesley? I would like to see what came true and what didn't.
I laughed so hard watching this vlog. You absolutely made my day! When you were talking about your driving instructor it brought back a great memory for me that i completely forgot about. When I was a new driver my cousin took a drive with me.....he did the same thing. Randomly would yell at the top of his lungs to people...."SUSAN! SUSAN!!" random lady (not named Susan lol 😂 turns around)....my cousin"Hi how ya been....long time no see". All the while she is just confused. Lol. Took the edge off of being nervous for a second. Lol. Sadly this cousin has since passed away, miss him a lot. But thank you so much for bringing that memory back for me! Love you lots! Have a wonderful day! ❤
Thank you for sharing that Flynn wants to do what the twins do when they get praised. I have a daughter Flynn's age and a son a year younger than the twins and my daughter gets so jealous of the baby.
Hey Colleen, you should do a reaction video to your last psychic reading. I remember something about a change in direction with your career or something like that in there and some other really cool stuff! ❤
I have a similar experience with drivers Ed! I think they purposefully distract students so we can learn how to drive safely even with distractions. My instructor would roll down all the windows and BLAST music while we I was driving on the highway. Lol
The beginning was super scary and dramatic, your pregnancy, emergency C-section, and time in the NICU. The twins are miraculously perfect and fit in just like puzzle pieces in your loving family ❤
It's so hard when your baby is in hospital just after birth or any other time. My eldest son was born with congenital heart disease and was in hospital for his first 3 months. He had open heart surgery at 8 weeks. It was experimental back then. He's 41 now with his own kids.❤❤
I was pregnant with my identical twin boys at the same time you were pregnant with Maisy and Wes 🤍 You announcing that you were having twins was actually when I found your channel and I was so excited to see another twin mom. I loved being on the journey so close together. I am pretty sure I was 5 weeks ahead of you in pregnancy and had my twins 3 weeks before you. 🤍
Hey Colleen! Tortilla talk: idk if you’ll see this but seeing you come back has been such a joy for me. I grew up watching you and you always made my hard days better. You coming back to TH-cam was the perfect timing because I actually went through a miscarriage at the end of September and my family has had so much crappy stuff hitting us left and right. Your videos make me feel like I have a friend and that I can pretend everything is normal when I’m watching them. The miscarriage is seriously the hardest thing I have ever gone through and just the joy of your videos has helped me through such a hard and trying time. You’re such a light and bring so much joy to so many people. Even though we didn’t know the baby’s gender, my boyfriend and I named it Elliott. It has helped us cope by being able to have a name for our little angel. Sorry I’m rambling but I just want you to know how much you’ve helped me and just know you’re so loved 🤍
I can’t wait for the podcast. I love you guys so much. I could tell who was Maisy and who was Wesley. I’m an identical twin and I can’t tell who’s me or my sister. So watching them at such a young age is mind blowing.
Colleen - I'm never one to comment on a TH-cam video, ever. But I've followed you-not Miranda-you, for fears. I need you to know that I was born 6 months early premature in 1995 from two perfectly healthy parents. Weighed 2 pounds. I'm now a normal nearly 29 year old girl living a perfectly healthy, normal and happy live. Your twins are going to thrive.
TTQ: What are your favorite Taylor swift songs? You also said in a vlog before that Erik didn't like Taylor as much as you did, has he started liking her music more since you listen to it?
Hearing Maisy say “Wesley” and “Maisy” was the cutest thing ever, the way she pronounced them was adorable 🥹
My daughter had her twins at 25 weeks. Unfortunately one didn’t make it. The other one stayed in NICU for 86.5 days. It was really HARD! She’s 5 and perfectly fine and healthy now.

Every time Colleen says she's not going to edit something, she immediately follows it with a cut 😂😂😂
I can’t resist!
Omg when did Flynn grow up SO MUCH! He's so big and smart and BIG! I can't believe how much he's grown!

Maisy naming her and Wes is soooooo cute she was right every time 😭

Flynn is cracking me up with his ambulance sounds lololol so cute 💜
Should show the twins pictures of Flynn as a baby and see if they can tell that it's him.
21:24 not me SCREAMING NANAIMO BARS COLLEEN AHAHAHHA
Glad you enjoyed your Canadian treats! 💕💕
I love how she was negative but then right away cought herself great job colleen❤❤❤❤
Omg. I remember when you and Erik sang “All I Want For Christmas is youuuuu…. OoooooO Maisy” and she came home the next day! ♥️
Maisy and Wesley have grown into strong and amazing kids and are miracles ❤❤❤❤😊
So awesome to see them growing up ❤ love to see how far the nicu kiddos have come !
I’m getting a rock tumbler for my birthday next Tuesday. I’m so excited 😆
This hits different now that I have had a child ❤such a brave mumma x
No because, it was like a few months hearing about the twins being born and after watching your videos again, I was so surprised at how fast they grew 😭
CCQ (Cookie Chat Question): Since you have a cookie blanket too, you should alternate and do Cookie Chat Question day! 🍪🍪🍪
100% agree, absolutely love “All to Well” 10 minute version. You’re on your own kid would be an awesome 10 minute song 😊
❤👩🏼🍼👨🍼
My twins will be 20 this year...and NICU days still bring back memories and emotions like it was yesterday!!
I am so glad and happy to watch the twins grow and flourish!
I for one would watch a 78 hour video of you talking about Taylor Swift.
It's in their eyes and face, Westley has a softer expression, Maisy has a more intense expression. They are so cute! Love you!
Maisy is so bright!!
This is how I discovered you! I was searching for what to expect in the NICU as I was trying to pass the time while on bedrest in the hospital knowing I would be delivering early. My daughter is just under 3 months younger than the twins.
Aww my favorite part you holding Wesley on ur chest skin to skin so sweet ❤😊❤😊
TTQ! Girll!! I was watching the old psychic reading on Flynn and the twins and then one on the twins she talked about your podcast!! She says that you will be doing some to all show or co-host with someone! That’s crazy!!
Colleen, an over-explainer, getting surprised over her over-explaining will never cease to entertain me 😂
Tortilla talk question Would you and Erik ever renew your vows one day? ❤❤❤
Doing all of that with one baby was hard, can't imagine doing it for two.❤
Tortilla Talk Question:
Hey Colleen!! I’m getting married in a month and I am SUPER excited!! I still just wanted to ask you if you had any advice for a newly wed couple or just marriage in general? Love you so much and can’t wait for your next vlog!!💛😊
(Also, my name is pronounced “uh-leeth-ee-uh” if you’re wondering!😄)
TTQ: so has tortilla talk become the new colleens corner? 😂 I used to love colleens corner im glad you been doing tortilla talk in you vlogs
Oh my gosh! The Miranda voice from Maisy. 😂 She is mini-Miranda for sure! Even her facial expression is a clone. ❤
my son was born november 7th 2021 5 weeks early so i get it ,
i had to be away from my 9 year old , 6 year old and 1 year old
this was just 5 weeks after losing my mom to a heart attack :(
and then january 2nd 2022 my home burnt down lost everything
You guys have the most beautiful sweetest children. I just really loved watching you guys❤
I love Mounds as well. Idk why people don’t love them.
Tortilla talk question How to keep the romance alive between you and Erik? Love you so much ❤❤😊😊❤❤
Tortilla Talk Question: Have you considered that you may be on the spectrum?
Lol
Hope you had a fun weekend Colleen LUV U 😊😊
The beginning was super scary and dramatic, your pregnancy, emergency C-section, and time in the NICU. The twins are miraculously perfect and fit in just like puzzle pieces in your loving family ❤
It's so hard when your baby is in hospital just after birth or any other time. My eldest son was born with congenital heart disease and was in hospital for his first 3 months. He had open heart surgery at 8 weeks. It was experimental back then. He's 41 now with his own kids.❤❤
i could tell the twins apart instantly actually. i surprised myself with that.
Colleen! You need to show the kids the song “Digging in the dirt” by Danny Go if they don’t know it already! It’s a jam!
I can tell them apart. Maisy was smaller, and had more tubes than Wesley.
I can’t wait for the podcast. I love you guys so much. I could tell who was Maisy and who was Wesley. I’m an identical twin and I can’t tell who’s me or my sister. So watching them at such a young age is mind blowing.
Omg Maisy is so smart 😭
Colleen - I'm never one to comment on a TH-cam video, ever. But I've followed you-not Miranda-you, for fears. I need you to know that I was born 6 months early premature in 1995 from two perfectly healthy parents. Weighed 2 pounds. I'm now a normal nearly 29 year old girl living a perfectly healthy, normal and happy live. Your twins are going to thrive.
Your hair looks good today!🎉
TTQ: What are your favorite Taylor swift songs? You also said in a vlog before that Erik didn't like Taylor as much as you did, has he started liking her music more since you listen to it?
love you so much Colleen!
