The role of the government therefore is to either level the playing field to allow everyone to at least have a fair opportunity to move up or provide with a basic yet reasonable safety net for hardworking people just contend with a simple life. Unfortunately this has not been the case and the PAP government has double downed on the issues highlighted in this forum mostly through their self imposed measures.

Sorry the 2022 and 2023 is different. 350+k for a 68 years lease before covid to 420K for a smallest 2 toilet 4room flat in 2021 then in 2024,500k. How much has our salary gone up in those few years? I am talking about places like HG and Yishun.

Finally, have you bought a HDB BTO or resale before? Do you contribute to household expenses? Do you pay any income tax or property tax or road tax?
