yeh had the same on my 1969, easy to replace . Rubber bung - no engine i stripped had one, but also if you look at the gasket, it seals that area off anyway. Down pipes, originals are apposed left n right, if you look at them youll see they ' kick out' slightly

Old rubber parts can be brought back to life by using "Wintergreen oil".
