Gun balance 10 out of 10: Agree with you.. decent gun balance overall. Perk balance 10 out of 10: Some of the best perk systems Ive used. Every perk had a definitive effect. Some other CODs the perks had a negligible effect. You had to decide what you wanted to give up. Yeah.. if you always run an AR your perks will be about the same. But I ran different perks depending on my weapon and playstyle. Shotties didnt need ready up alot of times.. but they did need SOH. Running an SMG with Ping was awesome! I didnt always have to run stopping power, SOH etc. like in MW2. Killstreaks 8: Yeah.. they were not very powerful and some were not interesting. I actually LIKED that they took the emphasis off of killstreaks. The days of camping in MW2 for the pred missile, Harrier, Chopper gunner combo are long gone! Innovation 7: You had some good points here. I actually liked being able to purchase the weapons and perks I wanted straight outta the gate. This area was not a deal breaker. Map Design: 8 out of 10: I actually find the maps in BOs2 annoying as hell. There are three choke points to get across the map.. and thats where you point your gun. It puts the emphasis on head to head gunfights.. in other words reaction time and connection. Ghosts allowed you to flank and use tactics to outwit your opponent. If the guy aint looking at you .. you can kill him even with the worst connection. And with the fast time to kill which helps to balance connection.. theres no time for him to turn on you when he realizes he was caught off guard. Dev support 7: No hacks that I've come across... average. ALOT better than MW2. Connection 10 out of 10: Like you said .. the best I've seen.
My Final Review for Ghosts: Gun Balance: Many of the weapons in Ghosts are really in the powerful side and encouraged it to get really boring from my perspective. They didn't really have a lot of gun in Ghosts comparing to previous CODs which really bored me, since I was usually using the same weapon each week. My overall for Gun Balance is 5/10 Perk Balance: I am going to have to agree with you Ace, the 3 trade perk system was way better. The 3 trade system encouraged players to pick the perks that really fitted for their class. In Ghosts, the perk system almost allowed players to use almost all of the perks with the Specialist Strike Package. Which isn't really fare for the other players because you can have all the Over powered perks in 1 class which doesn't give a great advantage for the other players. My overall for Perk Balance is 6/10 Kill streak Balance: Now this is where a huge portion of the game was ruined. Knowing that Ghosts didn't have many kill streaks this ruined the players excitement towards the game. Coming from my perspective, I would usually use the same exact 3 streaks I had from 4 months ago because many of the other streaks weren't fit in my play style and there were not much to pick out. Due to the Support and Specialist Strike packages. Many of the streaks that you could pick out in these strike packages really dominated the assault strike package. This wasn't really assurable knowing that the assault strike package is the best out of the others according to previous CODs. My overall for Kill streak balance is 4/10. Innovation: Ghosts didn't have much potential when it came to Innovation. I can assure that we can all agree that before the game came out, trailers of Ghosts really hyped up the game. Infinity Ward persuaded many players that this would be one of the greatest CODs of all time, but when it people got their hands in this game, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. Ghosts really disappointed me when it came to challenges A.K.A operations. You could complete the challenge but say you forgot to activate it, it wouldn't count towards completion. Comparing clan wars to league play, clan wars wasn't as correct as it was supposed to be. In League Play, you would be put in a play list where it would place you in a competitive lobby. In Clan Wars, you can just grab a 6 man team and go on a random lobby which wasn't really fare to the players that were playing individually. It also ruins players fun because it wouldn't give them a great advantage of winning the game. Due to the new modes Ghosts placed in the game, they weren't really as exciting as people would've thought knowing that not a huge portion on the populated players didn't really play these new modes which made it extremely difficult to find a lobby. And to the many other efforts Infinity Ward put into this game, I don't feel they tried. So my overall for Innovation is a 3/10. Map Design: I don't feel like Infinity Ward really put much effort when it came to Map design. It looks like they made the map model and just said "put a destroyed car there" or "put a hole there." It really ruined to how the player would interact to the map. Also, making maps huge was not the greatest idea. Infinity Ward kind of focused on maps such as battlefield. They should've focused on making maps smaller because making maps huge ruined the pace of the game. The game is more on the slower pace side due to map size. CODs should be fast pace because COD is more known to be competitive and skillful. The slow pace of this game really corrupted the competitive side of COD. The size of the maps also ruined the spawns and spawn prediction. Comparing to a map like Nuketown, even a player that just got the game and just started their very first game can know that "Oh that's the enemy spawn and that's where I'm going to be expecting them to push from" this is why Nuketown was really popular. Now, a map like Chasm is really difficult to predict, even for a player that's been playing the game through the whole life cycle of the game. Its all over the place and its really easy for someone to sneak up behind you. So my overall for Map Design is 2/10. I know, its a really poor rating but thats what I think. Developer Support: Yes, I do agree that Infinity Ward really did try when it came to improving modes, nerfing weapons, improving player perspective. But, i still believe that it wasn't quite enough. Ghosts still has a huge variety of issues. And knowing that Ghosts is the COD that has had the most amount of patches comparing to previous CODs, this signify its disappointment it came to be. Infinity Ward knew that since people were beginning to give Ghosts such horrible rating, they had to bring patches. But knowing that they really did tried. I'll give them a 6/10. Connection/Netcode: I've never really had an issue with connection. Ghosts is actually the best NAT TYPE i've seen in any other COD. I don't really have an issue with lag. I can usually just get into a random lobby and start playing with no connection problems. So my overall for Connection/Netcode is 9/10. Overall: So finally, my Overall rating for Ghosts is a 4/10. Just because its such a low rating doesn't mean I hate Ghosts. Its just my least favorite and probably will be my least for a while predicting that future CODs are showing advantages. Ghosts just was a huge mistake in Infinity Ward's part and didn't reach its potential. They hyped it up to much and it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
Very nice overview. Ghosts is my favourite cod overall, I've given 300-500 hours on all with the exception of WoW and it's still my favourite. It definitely caters for campers but it taught me a new style to counter it
Ace, I know I'm a couple years late on this video, but I just wanna say your content creation is unrivaled. From this year's relentless testing to in depth explanations from years-old games, your guides are priceless. When it comes to Ghosts, I know it's not the best call of duty, but despite that, its still my favorite cause of the memories, the Extinction mode, and maps that I loved. After watching this review I still love the game but I understand a lot better why people don't like the game. Thanks for making the content you do. keep it up, king :)
I think this review could benefit from a DLC category. Ghosts IMO had the best DLC of any cod. Also the dev support was fantastic in terms of weapon balancing, whereas in other cods theres maybe be one major nerf. I think overall it was just map design that killed this game. Could have easily been one of my favorites with maps the size of its dlc :/
Why am I watching this in 2021? The MTAR-X was one of the most op guns ever, but there was some cool niche picks. I loved the perk system, the equipment, and the way they handled weapon optics.
You probably dont give a shit but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Alejandro Ezequiel Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I totally disagree on the map design. The camping spots are incredibly well designed in this game. Every map has 3 or 4 spots that can only be countered easily by a player or equal/better skill. There are zero op camp spots and in a game with such complex maps that's a great achievement. There are also protected lanes for rushers to take you from any part of any map to another without being sniped... The only problem was that people with blackops habits did not usually play these correctly, and then got frustrated by campers. This game forced you to take the long way round sometimes, or better still leave a camper sitting there by themselves getting bored. Each map had a hot zone for rushers to use that did not have an overlooking sniper spot, and still to this day sniping and rushing are both viable strategies, with rushing popular with 80% of players. The lack of predictable spawns, and especially the lack of any simple 2 spawn maps was a positive in my opinion. Even though it's familiar in CoD, being able to predict spawns is a meta way of playing that is in my opinion an unrealistic flaw, not a benefit, and not a good reward for skilled players. Ghosts was all about psychology, predicting player's travel based on what you know about their behavior in the current lobby. Because of the size of the maps people tended to follow the minimap more vs other CoDs where you could just head to their spawn and get an immediate encounter. This opened up a ton of new metas. There were large power positions/entire sections that could only be held by 3 players working together (ridge vs construction yard on prison break for example) and so instead of thinking about spawns the goal was to think about which positions were active and how to disrupt them. To me that's much more realistic and satisfying to figure out. It also made the patterns of game play much less predictable and much more enjoyable in the long run. I played this game from launch until November 2017 and I was still seeing games play out in different ways, and popular positions were switching around still, 4 years after launch. So when you play that game now you're going in with your gun skill and your knowledge of the maps like everyone else but really what sets you apart as a player is being able to see the other team's behavior and the flow of the game. This isn't really the case with other CoDs where everything can be described in terms of spawns. Think WW2 USS Texas. Guys sniping lanes on either side from spawn to spawn. Guys pushing spawn through the middle galley. Guys pushing spawn through the side lanes. Guys sniping bridge from spawn. Guys sniping spawn from bridge. In Ghosts you can't talk about any of the maps like that, there are far too many combinations.
Here are all of Ghosts Pros and cons: Pros: -Personally, I do kinda like how it's a bit slow paced since I'm a stealth player. -The guns were generally ok, some bad and some good, but I'll get to the bad in a bit. -I REALLY liked the character customization. I loved how you can make your own character that expresses your style etc. Yet the could've added a wider variety of it. -Connection was actually pretty nice most of the time, didn't bother me too much. Cons: Ok where do I start, many of you guys will agree with me on these ones. :/ -The maps were TOO BIG. Actually the maps were ok, but they all included some parts that were just useless, mainly why I despise chasm since the four corners of the map were usually empty. But if those parts were removed, the maps would be perfect. (Mainly for stealth players) I, and definitely many others, will agree that the maps in MW2 were perfect. Some big but not too big, some small but not too small, and some were just beautifully done. -I cannot stress and complain enough about some of the guns. The M27 offends me in so many ways. Like Ace said, it's a frickin laser gun, and this ENCOURAGED people to camp AND have a HUGE crutch for new players and made the good players nearly gods. I also HATED how IW nerfed the snipers. Some were completely unnecessary, like the focus perk on snipers nerf. This INFURIATED me and the sniper community. I know it isn't impossible to quickscope, but seriously? Snipers are not overpowered, they take skill to use in close range.Shotguns were nearly useless. Marksman rifles were actually fun to use, but were pretty much lightweight semi-auto 2 shot kills. -The way people died was weird, not talking animation wise, it's hard to explain. When I run around a corner to avoid and I feel like I've escaped his line of fire. But once I turn the corner, I still get killed even though my screen is showing that I passed the corner. This REALLY pisses me off!! I think the animation of your character is slower than what you see on your screen. -The character customization was a bit of a problem. It kinda feels like only some of the character costumes gave you an advantage over other players. Such as the ghillie suit, yes it takes a while to earn it, but it can in some senses be overpowered. Some of the DLC clothing were nearly overpowered such as the female extinction clothing. All the other default clothing made you stand out of the battlefield like a live flower in a burnt field. -And finally, Killstreaks. Like Ace said, most of them were pretty boring to use. I do kinda like the helo pilot since it was a pretty intimidating Killstreak, but the rest were just boring. But the guard dog... *sigh* that was repulsive. It was just so annoying!!! And how it killed you... Just wow. Take a look at Driftor's channel. He made a video about the guard dog. Basically it kills you even before the animation reaches you. Basically what was wrong with Ghosts in my opinion, do any of you guys agree? And sorry for the novel, you can thank Infinity Wars for that. -.-
Ghost is probably my favourite CoD.. I think it is really balanced, the number one thing I didn't like about call of duty before ghost got fixed: Hit detection. The default maps were not as good but they really stepped it up in the dlc's for me as a person who isn't playing a ton the unlock system was perfect. Two things I didn't like we're the defensive play style especially on the default maps as well as the variety of fun killstreaks. I am really looking forward for AW especially cause I just got my XBOX1. It would be awesome if you would reply and thanks for making the video ace :)
I like MW2 the best, but Ghosts is definitely a very close second. Ghosts doesn't get nearly enough credit for how good it really is, with the balance, maps, perks, and especially the hit detection. Everybody seems to love BO2, but I found it to be my least favorite Call of Duty. The hit detection, maps, and balance in the game was absolutely awful.
As always man, great video! In my opinion I feel like it got boring really quickly. Once you get a handful of squad points, you can do whatever you want, without any incentive to prestige (like you said). But the main thing that got me was the maps; I feel that they sucked compared to bo2. Everything was on fire, broken, exploded, or in disarray by some means which allowed everyone just to blend in and kill you without you even catching a glimpse of them. It just lead to camping and frustrating deaths. I agree that they look more realistic as some people say, but I much prefer maps like nuke town, raid, uplink, and others that aren't blown up like maps in ghosts. Honestly, one of the main reasons I haven't upgraded to an xbox one is that I love bo2, and don't feel there are any games on xbox one exclusively that I really want. Advanced warfare looks pretty good, but I am skeptical on the ex abilities and futuristic look as of right now. Maybe if it turns out to be more like bo2, I might pick up an xbox one; but for now I am sticking with bo2 on xbox 360.
Well, I have just realized how professional he sounds now and in his Spawn Guides, but sounds relaxed in any other vid. It really boosts how I see Ace, and how he thinks about how his tone of voice affects a vid.
Gun Balance: 7/10- All guns were good but the M27 is too OP especially with thermal. Perk Balance: 5/10- If you didn't use certain perks you would be at a disadvantage and I did not like the perk-system. Kill streak Balance: 6/10- All killstreaks were not that good but the Guard Dog was too good for only 5 kills. Innovation: 7/10- It was innovative with the dynamic map element, but some of them were bad or annoying. Also with sliding and the peaking around corner were good ideas. Map Design: 1/10- I only liked freight. Although Warhawk, Strikzone, and Octane were okay maps. Maps were too dull and too big. Developer Support: 4/10 Connection: 2/10- I constantly lag on this game. It might be my internet but it does't happen on any other CODs. Overall: 32/70 is it's technical rating, but I give it a 2/10 because the map design was so bad that people would camp and play way to passive for my liking.
Daniel Craig I actually loved the campaign and the Co-op. MP just got too much with the Map Design making the spawns terrible, and the amount of people who used the IED, M27, Kastet, etc.
Best cod to date; here is my list: Gun Balance: 8.5/10 Perk Balance: 6.5/10 Killstreak Balance: 10/10 Innovation: 8.5/10 Map Design: 8/10 Developer support: 7.5/10 Connection: 7.5/10 MY OWN CATERGORY - DLC: 9.5/10 Overall: 56.5/70 or 8/10 (66/80 with my own catergory - DLC)
Ghost was trash from the moment I got it until I started camping heavy. Not going to lie. The thing I agree with most was what you said about map design. You get killed from so many different angles it wasn't worth moving out. 2 IEDS, IMS, sentry gun then helo. I have not touched it since Destiny came out.
Ghosts is my second favorite CoD(if we do NOT count the first 3 CoD games) after CoD4. Most of the maps were superb, because they rewarded tactical gameplay a lot and were really well done in terms of lines of sight, just like CoD4 maps, but a bit bigger. Too bad people were too big campers, the interior in the buildings was probably what allowed camping to be so strong though, NOT the map size. The gun balance was near flawless and IDK, guns felt different to me and even looking stats shows that they are different. The Perk system was epic and I found it well balanced, I never felt at a disadvantage, the killstreaks were finally toned down to the point where they do NOT win you games, but were still really good and the awesome MW3 system of Kill Streaks again. Connection and Net-Code was just flawless for me.
For connection you missed out that it's hard to tell if you're on a good or bad connection and that the guns killed so fast the game became unplayable on my connection. It's a guestion of was the hit detection too good?
I feel the Mm-Tar was perfectly balanced. It was very OP in the beginning but was quickly nerfed afterwards. That is why everyone uses the vector, which I feel is ridiculously OP. Plus, I think the time to kill was the worst part about this game. Most of the time, I got 2 shotted across the map with the vector and in my opinion, that should not happen.
My personal opinion overall, it's a 7/10. It's a solid, functional, and fairly well balanced game (probably the best all-round balanced game that only CoD4 can rival). However, it had the least replay value in the series and makes it tougher to continue playing those long hours at a time like the previous games did, and this is mostly due to class setup (in terms of having little reason to not use attachments or killstreaks and making some perks not well thought out, like Gambler) and killstreaks being underwhelming yet also fairly difficult to counter. What I mean by the last part is that a Helo Pilot or Loki wouldn't do great damage against a team who is fairly competent, but unless they have a MAWWS, Air Superiority, or Blind Eye and a AP LMG, that Helo Pilot isn't exactly going down and the Loki has no counter. Buff the Loki, give a Stinger-like equip-able weapon, add in a few other fan favorites, and nerf some of the map streaks and buff others, and this issue would be resolved. Ideas for how to fix the map streaks would go as followed (only listing glaring ones I can think of). Strikezone KEM. Give the KEM in a package, but have it do no more than just kill the enemy team and change the map. No fog, no EMP effect, etc. This means the enemy team won't be at nearly as big of a disadvantage just because the opposing team got a lucky roll of the dice. Sovereign Helon Gas. This has almost no use, only killing maybe that one guy using the lower passage and only somewhat kind of blinding everyone. I feel if they had gas lines more strategically placed, it'd be a bit better of a reward. Whiteout Satellite. Completely useless by all regards, unless you were standing in the exact spot it landed at the exact moment it landed, you wouldn't feel any effect at all and there was no other things it caused to the game or map. Make it hit a more busy spot in a shorter amount of time or just randomly hit the map, or just make it cause some kind of difference in the map in how it plays out, like destroy some cover and create some more. Containment mortars. Unless you were on the bridge, it wouldn't kill you and all it did was make the game slower paced. Sure, it helped a bit with the map as it was fairly easy to spawn trap the enemy by using the bridge, but overall the streak was fairly poorly implemented in a practical sense. Overall, I really enjoyed the game. I will probably still pop it in my PS4 from time to time and play it, and it definitely won't go the route of MW2 or BOps1 as being so low on my CoD lists. However, I feel CoD4, W@W, and MW3 were all better games, and that BOps2 is on par (would be better if the connections weren't ass).
Hey Ace--I'm a solo player as well, and feel the same way about Clan Wars. I'll add to your map design category: Ghost map design is great because it's almost impossible to be spawn trapped even playing a full clan. This happened to me all the time in BO2 and the 2nd biggest reason why I hate BO2 (quickscoping being the other reason). In your innovation section, what I feel is the biggest downside of Ghosts is no Mercenary playlist.
heheh, fun to see an old video of yours randomly... I loved Ghost and I agree on all points with you, except Blitz... I loved Blitz, as it promoted to play smart, sometime letting people run past you to be able to sneak a score in, it made for a lot of suspense.
First of all, I 100% agree with you ace!!! Second of all I dont think the time to kill issue was mentioned enought Third of all I think this video was super awsome and honest...thx ace!!!
Best connection/netcode you've seen in a COD and it gets an 8 out 10? What warrants a 10 out of 10? Fair question. Good insights overall.. very thought provoking.
There's always room for improvement. 100% dedicated servers with a search menu where we can select a match based on our latency would be closer to a 10
Ghosts is the only cod I've played, and for the most part I have loved it. I did get bored after the last DLC but have now put it back in the disc tray to get my eye in for next week. I agree that everyone played for their kd stat, I struggled a lot with this to begin with and I felt like a bad player for a long time. I have improved a lot but feel that ghosts has made me play a certain way, in which from what I hear, would not have been effective in past cods. Hopefully my skills will be transferable for AW, although I am looking forward to whatever it brings. Ghosts for me 8/10.
I think for me, the biggest problem is connections AGAIN, what i never see is anything about connections as soon as i am in a party. The game is unplayable in a party. Despite buying a scuff for the PS4, Ghost on the PS4 is unplayable, so play the PS3. I think the DLC has been good, but dont often play it. No DEM or CTF is rubbish, thought for blitz was OK.Another great and fair review.
Cod Ghosts is one of my absolute favorite cod games. Mw2 and Infinite Warfare i really really like and cod bo1 and modern warfare was pretty good as well.
I would be curious about your opinions on some of the details you didn't address, like the KEM Strike and new motion mechanics (slide, lean, etc.). How about the Specialist system? I liked Ghosts, and felt that it was my breakthrough game, where I had finally leveled-up my gun skills and tactics enough to be competitive and a "big dog" in most lobbies, even as a rusher in a game everybody judges as favorable to campers. (That rather run-on sentence could be seen as a "chicken or egg" question, admittedly, and yes I'm aware of the argument that quicker TTKs favor unskilled players.) My only history was MW2 and MW3, so I'm unqualified to rate it against the whole series. I do agree with many of your assessments, though perhaps I'm a bit fonder of most of the maps. (Except Free Fall, which I've always described thusly: Take a small shoebox, fill it with bullshit, throw it down a flight of stairs, and you have Free Fall.) There's my two cents, though I've got about a dollar more ready to contribute.
I would agree with this but i would put gun balance at a 6.5/10 because even in multiplay pubs there were a handful of guns that were the guns that you should use like the remington, honeybadger, ak12, USR, mtar, and vector. It was hard to use different huns because you new that they were in-superior to the other guns in there class (ex. the k7 is worse than the mtar and the vector)
I like Ghosts , the Fun Movies DLC's ( Michael Myers, Evil Dead , Predator , Indiana Jones in the Egyption map , Once Upon A Time In Mexico in Day of the dead map , Pirates of the Caribbean in the Pirates map ) saved it in my opinion , and the Campaign was good except for the ending.
Giving my own ratings, since I played a lot of Ghosts. This will be a fairly long comment, so be warned. Also, I don't give a crap about haters, don't even bother because I won't reply to you. Valid negative opinions are fine :P. Gun Balance: 8/10. Very few faults there, and any unbalanced weapons were either patched by IW or were quickly compensated for buy the community (either by finding a flaw in it and exploiting it, or by everyone using it (or by, unfortunately, people insulting other people for using it :/)). There wasn't the greatest range of guns, but there was everything i need to enjoy it and different variations and playstyles for each one. Perk Balance: 6/10. Perks were nicely balanced, and spread out. There was a fair amount of counter play between perks, and I like the actual perk system (I think they should have used it again in AW but I can understand why they didn't :P). The reason I'm rating this less then gun balance is 1.) DANGER FUCKING CLOSE and 2.) Even with the great variation of perks, there were still over-centrist crutch perks that everyone used, and while those did have counters, most of the time the perk options you had were Stalker, Quickdraw, Ready Up and whatever else you could fit on. Killstreaks: 3/10. The higher kill streaks were often more useless then the lower ones. The IMS was a campers dream, the Dog was something out of hell, and if you had a decent top-clear map, the Trinity Rocket allowed you to pretty much shut down a spawn and get at least 3 easy kills which would put you onto your next killstreak very easily. Meanwhile, the Gryphon breaks if you fly it into a door, and if it's near an object it kills itself, the Helo-pilot is just horrible to move around and aim and the Loki is just...lol. None of these were very fun either. The support streaks functioned properly but were too rewarding for the worse player, and although things like Juggernaut and Helo Scout don't get you an incredible amount of kills, it's frustrating to know that no matter how good you are, in a long match like Domination there's no way you can really stop them from getting it. Innovation: I couldn't think of much other than what Ace already said, but I thought of something. FINALLY we got character customization. I don't even care that it wasn't great, our characters got to look unique and badass, and this set the tone for AW to improve on. Also, I know that most people probably didn't like it, but I actually liked the character system idea. Oh, and Squad points were interesting too. If only they didn't make it so people could just fight bots online to get XP and Points. Map Design: 8/10. Some were pretty massive, I grant you, but Ground War really helped with that. I really don't like laned maps, I hope AW doesn't screw it up with them. Larger and more complicated maps introduce an aspect of Call Of Duty, which was that Gun Skill was no longer the most important thing. This meant that only the best players could be good now, as being fast on the trigger wasn't important anymore because you'd get shot when you walked out into the open. this was real strategy, not just who could aim faster or who could hold down an entire map part and use it to win. Map spawn points did really let it down though :/. Devolper Support: 8/10. Tehy fixed pretty much everything, all major glitches, all major going ons, everything was fixed more or less. only reason it's not 10/10 is because a lot of it was much later than it should have been. Connection: N/A. My connection is goddamn awful, no matter what game I play, there's lag on it half the time I play it. I have nothing to compare Ghosts too, cause of my games lag when I play online more often than not. Overall: 7.5/10. Great game, could have been more fun, but stil la great game. For reference, I gave Bo2 a 7 and MW3 an 8. The only game I played before then was WaW, and that wasn't even online :P.
I think the only thing you failed to discuss as far as innovations go was actually the stuff you take for granted after playing a game for so long....the changes to player movement, namely the "slide" and corner lean. any thoughts?
Overall, i like it. I love playing almost any cod game. Because i love playing againt people. There are alot of things that are wrong with this game that make me hate it very much. But overall, ill keep playing it if i can find a game.
I am not a big fan of ghosts, it was okay. But, I think the one thing you were missing on your innovation breakdown was DLC. This is the one place I thought ghosts excelled. I think they had some really innovative ideas with their map packs and I hope Sledgehammer keeps that going.
I honestly felt that the Bulldog was too powerful. Most of the fights I got in were close range to medium range no matter what the map was, and the bulldog is so easy to spam the trigger that no matter what you were using, or if you reacted first, you still lost most of the time. I agree with the dog though, although I've had a lot of very bad experiences with it. I recall on the Map Freight, I had joined late, and I just kept spawning and dying from a dog within seconds. So in my opinion, the fact of a personal lunge melee killstreak should not have even entered the game, and should have been removed, at minimum made harder than a 4-5 killstreak. I actually really like the unlock system, and that's purely because I didn't have to reg gun to be able to get the stuff I needed to knifing, and I could immediately jump into the knifing playstyle. For me I felt Ghosts had the exact same hit detection as other CoD games. I felt I would stab someone, then get panic knifed by the stabbed person. I would throwing knife someone, and then get panic knifed by the same person. It was ridiculous and stressful to have to deal with. Now my actual feeling about Ghosts is that, I don't actually hate it. It's also my least favorite, but I really did have some amazing moments in it that I will most likely remember throughout my CoD Gaming career(If you could call playing CoD on a regular basis that).
i can't give such a rating 'cause i didn't play it long enough. i pretiged 2 times and than left it, biggest reason for that is the "reward the campers" style of it. hit detection and connection were superior but the downsights made me go back to black ops 2
Jake Hill well i did not play too much cod before bo 2 so i only know this 2 good enough. i'm mostly a pc gamer that needed a break of battlefield ;-). wich cod is the best on your opinion? i played a bit of bo 1 and i did enjoy that one more than the others but it has his issues too
To me, 1.mw2 2.ghosts 3.mw3. And also, it wasn't manageable, there's also a reason I stopped playing it 1 month after its release. Shit gun balance, shit connection, shit hit detection, shit lag comp, treyarch as a whole is just shit.
Jake Hill Black Ops 2 had it's moments, but it was most definitely manageable due to how much it had improved from Black Ops 1, like score streaks, zombies, game modes, pick 10 system, League Play. You said you stopped playing a month after it's release and say it had 'shit gun balance, shit hit detection, etc' when patches were released to fix these over time. It sounds like you didn't give it a chance like you did with IW games. IMO IW was worse when dealing with gun balance. If you ask anyone (who has played every CoD) what the most OP and unbalanced guns/perks were in any CoD most of them would say a weapon/perk from Modern Warfare 2 and 3. The UMP (MW2), MP7 (MW3), ACR (MW3), One Man Army + Danger Close (MW2), Model 1889 akimbo (MW2 Pre-patch) I could go on. I'm not saying WaW, Black ops 1 and 2 have no OP weapons because they do. Im saying the worst cases of bad gun/perk balance were in IW games. I think your being very biased towards IW.
Now I prefer Ghosts over Black Ops 2, just my opinion as Treyarch games have never played very well for me and I prefer Infinity Ward, but I'll also agree Ghosts is average at best. 1) Gun Balance - 5/10 The guns on Ghosts were okay, the smgs for the most part at this moment in time are well balanced for different play styles (not at launch tho) Assault Rifles are still a little one sided to the Remington/ AK-12 but most are still decent to use. LMGs are horrible, either redundant or insanely over powered. Shotguns were done perfectly imo, they were not annoying (like Blops 2) but not useless. Snipers and Marksman rifles were also okay as well, the snipers again being well balanced. The pistols were quite powerful and the rocket launchers were useless. 2) Perk Balance - 6/10 I enjoyed the perk system Ghosts, I feel it worked well for what it was however some perks were necessary like Focus. What brings this down to 6 is Danger Close. Who at IW thought that Danger Close was a good idea?? Since when was Danger Close ever a good thing in any Call of Duty?? Jeez... 3) Kill Streaks - 3/10 Nothing was interesting or fun to use really, you never felt like you earned anything. Specialist is meant to make you feel like a super soldier, but you didn't get all the perks though. 4) Connection - 9/10 Never had a problem with connection., hit detection perfect. 5) Innovation - 5/10 Now this is where I think the game fell down a lot. The thing with Ghosts is there was a lot of innovation! There was a lot of different changes and that's the problem, there was too much little things which didn't quite work. New movement mechanics made the game feel smoother but caused some minor problems. Dynamic maps were interesting but IW executed the idea poorly. Field Orders is another good idea, but made far too easy for the reward on some maps. The hideous map design was meant to be innovative but panned out all wrong. The prestige system and squad points again was meant to be innovative and exciting, but I think was the single most important thing which killed the game. There was no incentive to level up with the same classes over and over again. 6) Developer Support - 7/10 I think post launch the developers have done a good job of nurfing, buffing and balancing things out. Also the DLC was well done (should've been in the game in the first place however...) 7) Map Design - 2/10 Shocking. My only words.
Wow, I'm in the minority of players who loved COD Ghosts, esp. on the PS4. I loved the campaign, except for the fact that it was a tad bit short. I thought Extinction was hard, but still a unique entry into the franchise, and I loved all the DLC characters, weapons, special camos and maps. I enjoyed the perk system and the bot gameplay as well. Having said all that, the original MP Maps were too bland in my opinion and some were outright too large and unbalanced compared to other COD games like BOP2 and MW3. I think if Ghosts used the DLC maps as the original ones, that it would have been better. I will still be playing my COD Ghosts for a few years. And, yes, the Guard Dog kill streak hardlined was overpowered, but it's all about Riley anyway at the end of the day! Woof!
Gun Balance: 7, all guns are pretty good Perk Balance: 9, I love the perk system so much Kill streak Balance: 4, I hate the streaks, but they are decent
Gun Balance: 7/10 Perk Balance:7/10 Killstreak Balance:5/10 Innovation:6/10 - I liked clan wars more than anything, it sucked when playing solo though Map Design:3/10 - in FPS games I feel this is game breaker if not done correctly Developer Support:5/10 Connection/Netcode:9/10 overall 6/10
I think the gun balance was bad because they all did too much damage. It promotes camping knowing that as soon as someone hits a corner you can just spray and they're dead. It also takes close to no skill since you can just spray with the mtar land a few shots and boom kill. And the squad point system gave me no incentive to really want to keep playing. I really miss the grind of working towards something. I reached 10th prestige so easy. So a longer TTK would have been appreciated, bring back the grind, and also maybe better spawns or map design, the enemies come from just too many directions.
...and I completely agree with the Clan Wars, it was a good idea, but they still need to have an area where the solo player can still have a chance, or just not have to worry about running into teams that "rape" you. This would've been super simple....just make a clan/team matchmaking area in multiplayer.
I can't make up my mind on loving or hating Ghosts. There is the nostalgia of this being my first COD(noob, I know), but I've played other CODs on my friend's/relative's consoles. In comparison, Ghosts seems terrible, but that's a comparison, the games still good ;) And I know that they rotate, so this is not considered a 1st impression at all. I have to say, I hate it, but I love it at the same time. It was the camping and the tryharding and all the other negatives that motivated me to get better, and during that process, I found Ace(YOU ARE AWESOME). But soon, I couldn't stand it, as much as I tried, I just couldn't do more than a 0.7** K/D. I kept playing, but IT JUST WON'T HAPPEN(mind my rage), and I just wish that they would remaster older CODs for the PS4 so I don't have to deal with the nagging failures do to campers and snipers. Overall I hate the game, but it is still just as awesome as any other game, just worse, if that makes sense. The love is there, but the hate is what's stronger. Hope you like the opinion! -TheJMan
Also, my one map issue is: too many small things to get caught on! You can't win a gunfight when your strafe is disrupted by a tipped over trash can. Aaaaand, the player collision, it's EVEN WORSE than getting caught on the rubbage on the ground.
Ace when u mentioned the part about clan wars and u said its hard to win playing solo they call it clan wars for a reason so clams can battle clans not really designed for solo
Gun Balance: 6 (couldn't do too well with all the guns....) Perk Balance: 8 (loved the perk system! but some were crazy OP and could have been nerfed) Killstreak Balance: 3 (they all sucked...) Innovation: 3 (yay...dogs...) Map Design: 4 (no thanks. maps were way too big for my run and gun play style) Developer Support: 6 (like you said Ace, they tried) Connection/Netcode: 8 (great hit detection in my mind, very little lag for the first 3/4 life cycle) Overall: 7 (i rather enjoyed the game and got into CoD heavy with this, but after playing this for 13+ days that i have into it, i enjoy going back to the other CoD's much more than this.
Totally agree with snipers! I still had a lot of fun with them without always dying up close against enemy snipers. In BO2 they were almost better than the remington at close range XD
The development team was obviously not up to the task they were given. Ghosts falls short in so many places, but the technical side had the most glaring mistakes. Examples: - Sub-D, the system to make round objects actually round, was used to such an extend that it caused massive performance issues - the dual layer sights halved fps, silly idea for a badly optimized game - Stats were randomly reset, there is even a special website with a restore tool on the ATVI Support website - PC version was even worse (missing FoV slider, no anti cheat for four months), major mistake after BlOps2 was best on PC - inconsistent gun and physics behaviour due to game & gun designers with no clue how the engine works The game design itself was also poorly thought out: - The perk system was a not a bad idea, but with too many must-have perks it was pointless - time to kill is so short that the inconsistent behaviour lead to more random deaths - IED and the dog as typical broken elements to give players that are legally blind, deaf and play with a hand on their back can score some kills - the spawn systems seemingly random logic, caused mostly by poor map design (too many spawn points placed in long lines of sight) - maps were often too cluttered to allow proper map control without a coordinated team But one thing they always did better than Treyarch: the netcode. Hit detection is way better, even though under some network conditions it can lead to inevitable deaths. But that's still way better than having artificial latency all the time. Ghosts Multiplayer is not a horrible game that you can't have fun with, but it has lots of issues and caters mostly to less dedicated players, which isn't a good foundation for a long term playerbase. The same thing happened with Titanfall and it will happen to any competitive shooter that creates too many shortcuts that circumvent the traditional shooter skillset. Overall 6/10, can be fun, but not a gem and has no staying power.
9/10 because I enjoy it. I feel like they could've put the osprey gunner from the campaign for a 17 killstreak. It'll shoot missiles but not too OP. Incendiary rounds would be great!
I played ghosts from release to July pretty much achieved what I wanted then took to bf4 which I feel is a superior game. Not to say ghosts is bad it's the most enjoyable cod so far. Perhaps for me coming from a bf2 background and 'dabbling' in cod the slightly larger maps and space for tactical play (as opposed to the linear kill box that cod has usually been) was preferable. I do enjoy blops2, it gives the energetic, fast paced gameplay that not even bf3's close quarter modes can touch. I guess you pick up a game for what suits the mood... Poor blitz! Dynamic 'kinda like domination with one cap area' that's unpredictable, having to constantly rethink the spawns and routes. Dom is static and predictable and easy kills for campers, blitz is dynamic, spawns flip everywhere and is more of a challenge. Maybe too much for some? Lastly ghosts looks much better than AW previous cods and every BF. AW- The graphics are horrid, weapons look cartoonish, recoil is soft and spongey.
Snipers- Takes Out LMGs and ARs at range. Ehh balanced. SMGs- Most take out ARs and LMGs sometimes other SMGs. Some were OP Shotguns- Takes out basically everything close up. Sucks at range. It was kinda balanced. LMGs- These were OP. M27 is all i have to say. ARs- Good at any distance. Somewhat balanced. I feel that the gun balance was a 5/10.
I have played all cods since waw... ghosts made me want to play bf4... got to prestige 5 and left, I still have fun but now Im playing more bo2 and bf4. 3/10 I hope the next infinite ward game is finished
Im with you on most of this Ace but I know plenty of strong players who run support because it assists the slayers on the team running assault and that's the point of support.
I'm not saying support shouldn't be in the game, I'm just saying a single support streak should not have a significant impact on the outcome of the game and they should never directly earn kills.
I didn't like ghosts and I quickly got bored of it. Gun Balance: 8/10 The guns were balanced with a few exceptions like the machine guns and snipers Perk Balance: 5/10 I didn't like the new system because, like Ace said, many perks were mandatory and there were no trade offs. Killstreak balance: 6/10 Killstreaks were a step backwards. Scorestreaks encourage playing as a team and playing the objective. However, some were interesting. Innovation: 4/10 Many "innovations" seemed to be steps backwards. That goes for the ranking up system, killstreaks, and perk system. Map Design: 3/10 There were some cool themes like the castle themed map. However, there were too many flank routes and were too complicated and cluttered. Also, the washed out color palette not only discouraged movement but it gives me a headache to even look at the maps. Developer Support: 4/10 like Ace said, they tried. Connection/Netcode: 2/10 The connection and hit registration were terrible in my experience. And it's not because my internet is bad, my internet is actually good. I could be playing Ghosts and have a terrible connection and on the same day under the same conditions have a great connection on Black Ops 2. Overall: 32/70
i completely disagree far as clan wars that was what actually got me to do competitive because of i had my friends and we just grouped up and really tried and it made us better and the clan system in ghosts encouraged meeting new people through recruiting people
I liked ghosts because of the player balance. It was no fun to just sit in a corner and die because the enemy just spawn trapped you. The "bad spawns" allowed newer players a chance to actually play the game instead of rage quitting because one guy on the other team knew exactly where you were going to spawn.
KOSDFF and SharpTube do a very healthy supply of Ghosts videos, but Ace and Tmartn are the only two I know of who actually do serious vids for the game anymore. Everyone else just wants to be cool in hating the game, I think.
This is my opinion... (I prestiged master and then created another account, right now prestige 3... so yeah I have played the game good enough) Gun Balance: 6/10 (overpowered DLC guns ruin the game a little bit, M27-best known as unbeateable camping gun... and so on) Perk Balance: 5/10 (you were forced to put almost always the same perks and there was no trade-off as you said) Killstreak Balance: 6/10 (Oracle overpowered, support killstreak, assault killstreaks barely got you any kills...) Innovation: 3/10 (didnt innovate anything at all just ruin the fast paced style of game that we all wanted with their "innovation") Map Design: 3/10 (omg how fun is playing in a map that you cant find a single enemy- me everytime I play. The map design let to campers) Developer support: 3/10 (at the beginning the developers actually patch or buff things but right now you tweet them something and they will ignore every single tweet...) Connection: 8/10 (it was the best connection but idk the last few months the connection is being kinda laggy) COD GHOST: 34/70 = 4.8/10 The Call of Duty in which you can expect campers and a slow paced game no hate but Infinity Ward...you didnt do a good job :/
5/10 i found that the map designs killed it and some weapon inbalences killed gameplay. Developers didnt work hard enough on the game. That being said i still enjoy it. I have my moments where i can be doing well and bad. But overall the game needed to be tested and corrected a bit...
Any other game (COD) is hard for me but this game because it feels like you can kill the player Easley. That's why i can go 30- 8 in this game and 14-9 in bo2
Ghosts HEAVILY favoured full party teams against solo players. The only people who enjoyed this game are people that run with a full party consistently. I play Solo exclusively and HATED this game for one reason, clan wars and Support Streaks. Here is my last experience with Ghosts... I sign on during clan wars and decide to play DOM, Of course I'm up against a full party of tryhards, with 2 guys camping each flag. These guys were individually awful, like .60 K/D, but in Ghosts that's all you need with a full party. I had a 2.5 K/D with 20 KEMS under my belt and couldn't do a thing against them. They were all running support, Satcom / B Vests / and Oracle. For the first half of the game about every 15 seconds it was announced "Enemy Satcom active". They basically had a VSAT for the entire game. Then a little later on "enemy oracle inbound" every 10 seconds. There was ZERO chance of winning that match so of course I leave the game. In my next game guess what... I'm re inserted in the same match! I hit the eject button on the PS3 and put Black Ops 2 back in and started having fun again. Anyone who comments that Ghosts is their favorite COD, I challenge you to play it again Solo and see what you think! Ghosts is easily the worst COD yet!
...I should probably watch the whole video before commenting. haha I don't know if I agree with you on the Prestige system. I didn't prestige before because it was pointless. I understand that it's supposed to be Prestigious...but i'm not a hardcore player. And all you get is an emblem. They need to make it so that if you prestige, you get something else that sets you apart, like a really cool camo, or weapon attachment, or something.
Gun Balance: 7/10 Perk Balance: 6/10 Killstreak Balance: 5/10 Innovation: 5/10 Map Design: 3/10 Developer Support: 4/10 Connection/Netcode: 8/10 overall i think the game was decent but definitely not the best. Personally i prefer it over mw3 but i would give it a 6-7/10
Blitz was a failure? How so? I thought Blitz was a blast. I usually scored the most goals in every game and I had some exciting close matches. Blitz was a great game mode in my opinion.
I feel like ghosts was a good game until they nerfed the mtar.because now the vector is obviously one of the best weapons and you just can't win a 1v1 when someone uses the vector
My Final Review for Ghosts:
Gun Balance: Many of the weapons in Ghosts are really in the powerful side and encouraged it to get really boring from my perspective. They didn't really have a lot of gun in Ghosts comparing to previous CODs which really bored me, since I was usually using the same weapon each week. My overall for Gun Balance is 5/10
Perk Balance: I am going to have to agree with you Ace, the 3 trade perk system was way better. My overall for Perk Balance is 6/10
Kill streak Balance: Now this is where a huge portion of the game was ruined.
It also ruins players fun because it wouldn't give them a great advantage of winning
the game.
They hyped it up to much and it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
damn you were already making quality videos 7 years ago. and worked on your public speaking. You deserve all this success
I'm one of those weirdos that really likes Ghost. Played it more than any other cod, was very addictive and master prestige was fun to grind to. Shrug
Stryker Moonfall Ghosts is my 2nd fav cod behind mw3. Have 27 days on Ghosts.. i kinda no lifed it but i had so much fun with my buddies
You probably dont give a shit but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account??
I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Aries Ahmad instablaster =)
@Alejandro Ezequiel Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Alejandro Ezequiel it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
Here are all of Ghosts Pros and cons:
Pros:
-Personally, I do kinda like how it's a bit slow paced since I'm a stealth player.
Cons:
Ok where do I start, many of you guys will agree with me on these ones. :/
-The maps were TOO BIG.
Same here
Well, I have just realized how professional he sounds now and in his Spawn Guides, but sounds relaxed in any other vid.
Developer Support: 4/10
Connection: 2/10- I constantly lag on this game. It might be my internet but it does't happen on any other CODs.
Overall: 32/70 is it's technical rating, but I give it a 2/10 because the map design was so bad that people would camp and play way to passive for my liking.
I also play on 360 if it means anything.
I can agree with your opinion ...
Daniel Craig I actually loved the campaign and the Co-op. MP just got too much with the Map Design making the spawns terrible, and the amount of people who used the IED, M27, Kastet, etc.
Best cod to date; here is my list:
Gun Balance: 8.5/10
Perk Balance: 6.5/10
Killstreak Balance: 10/10
Innovation: 8.5/10
Map Design: 8/10
Developer support: 7.5/10
Connection: 7.5/10
MY OWN CATERGORY - DLC: 9.5/10
Overall: 56.5/70 or 8/10 (66/80 with my own catergory - DLC)
Wow
dynamicflashy Yeah wow it was good
IWAS TNACOD No. I meant 'wow' we must have played different games. COD Ghost is the worst COD to date.
dynamicflashy no, it's not
IWAS TNACOD I have played every COD since Big Red One, and (in my opinion!) Ghost is the worst, to date.
I actually really enjoyed ghosts. The main downside for me is the killstreaks
Ace will you bring back the spawn guide series for AW?
Gun Balance:6
Perk Balance:7
Killstreak Balance:10
Innovation:7
Map Design:8
Developer Support:6
Connection/Netcode:8
You didn't mention the sat com or dynamic map elements.
Ace I quickly just wanted to say the mtar had a LOT of recoil and agree the M27 was way overpowered for camping loosers
First of all, I 100% agree with you ace!!!
Second of all I dont think the time to kill issue was mentioned enought
Third of all I think this video was super awsome and honest...thx ace!!!
I felt like I've mentioned it too much in the past so I didn't want to bring it up again lol
TheXclusiveAce the important thing is that you did a great job covering cod ghost :)
ace whats your opinion on no theatre mode in advanced warfare?
What you said @ about 21:00 in my opinion is wrong, their "small" maps were average size when compared to other CODs
(Except Free Fall, which I've always described thusly: Take a small shoebox, fill it with bullshit, throw it down a flight of stairs, and you have Free Fall.)
There's my two cents, though I've got about a dollar more ready to contribute.
Awsome vid i see u put alot into this bro
I love this vid! Advanced Warfare here we come!
The k7 is strong up close melts people better then vector or mtar up close trust me I got 42and 8 on free fall
I totally agree with the content on this video.
Please do a Final Review/Rating for CoD Infinite Warfare.
I really like ghost just because of the connection it was great for me compared to bo2 where I felt like the hit detection was terrible for me.
Why is 2014 Ace coming at me with that ASMR voice?
I think the only thing you failed to discuss as far as innovations go was actually the stuff you take for granted after playing a game for so long....the changes to player movement, namely the "slide" and corner lean. any thoughts?
I like the slide, wasn't a fan of the lean.
Agreed mostly
Dog got nerfed.
You are a great youtuber. I'm glad I subscribed.
Actually if you listen closely the dog does make a jingling sound when it walks.
I know this is a super old post so you may never see this, but I was curious how you rate this game next to IW and AW.
Bo2 is the worst cod made. The hit detection and lag comp were inexcusable. There's a reason it was called lag ops 2 since day one.
Jake Hill Yes, but it manageable. I would say Black Ops 2 is one of the best despite the connection issues.
Jake Hill
well i did not play too much cod before bo 2 so i only know this 2 good enough. i'm mostly a pc gamer that needed a break of battlefield ;-). wich cod is the best on your opinion? i played a bit of bo 1 and i did enjoy that one more than the others but it has his issues too
To me, 1.mw2 2.ghosts 3.mw3.
Also the DLC was well done (should've been in the game in the first place however...)
7) Map Design - 2/10 Shocking. My only words.
Gun Balance: 9
Perk Balance: 6
Killstreak Balance: 5
Innovation: 6
Map Design: 4
Developer Support: 7
Connection/Netcode: 10
Overall: 8
8/10 I enjoyed it for 4 months, could be a better game
Woof!
Gun Balance: 7, all guns are pretty good
Perk Balance: 9, I love the perk system so much
Kill streak Balance: 4, I hate the streaks, but they are decent
Gun Balance: 7/10
Perk Balance:7/10
Killstreak Balance:5/10
Innovation:6/10 - I liked clan wars more than anything, it sucked when playing solo though
Map Design:3/10 - in FPS games I feel this is game breaker if not done correctly
Developer Support:5/10
Connection/Netcode:9/10
overall 6/10
I agree with you 6/10 overall mostly because the perks gave u no variety since you had to choose the best perks
Gun Balance: 6 (couldn't do too well with all the guns....)
Perk Balance: 8 (loved the perk system! but some were crazy OP and could have been nerfed)
Killstreak Balance: 3 (they all sucked...)
Innovation: 3 (yay...dogs...)
Map Design: 4 (no thanks. maps were way too big for my run and gun play style)
Developer Support: 6 (like you said Ace, they tried)
Connection/Netcode: 8 (great hit detection in my mind, very little lag for the first 3/4 life cycle)
Overall: 7 (i rather enjoyed the game and got into CoD heavy with this, but after playing this for 13+ days that i have into it, i enjoy going back to the other CoD's much more than this.
Examples:
- Sub-D, the system to make round objects actually round, was used to such an extend that it caused massive performance issues
- the dual layer sights halved fps, silly idea for a badly optimized game
- Stats were randomly reset, there is even a special website with a restore tool on the ATVI Support website
- PC version was even worse (missing FoV slider, no anti cheat for four months), major mistake after BlOps2 was best on PC
- inconsistent gun and physics behaviour due to game & gun designers with no clue how the engine works
The game design itself was also poorly thought out:
- The perk system was a not a bad idea, but with too many must-have perks it was pointless
- time to kill is so short that the inconsistent behaviour lead to more random deaths
- IED and the dog as typical broken elements to give players that are legally blind, deaf and play with a hand on their back can score some kills
- the spawn systems seemingly random logic, caused mostly by poor map design (too many spawn points placed in long lines of sight)
- maps were often too cluttered to allow proper map control without a coordinated team
But one thing they always did better than Treyarch: the netcode.
My Thoughts on Ghosts
Gun Balance: 7/10
Perk Balance: 8/10
Killstreak Balance: 9/10
Innovation: 7/10
Map Design: 8/10
Developer Support: 5/10
Connection: 8/10
Overall: 7/10
Um just no
i somewhat i agree but i definitely give connection 10/10
and map design 2/10
Some were OP
Shotguns- Takes out basically everything close up.
Gun Balance: 4 (STAHP NERFIN SNIPURZ)
Perk Balance: 9 (Danger Close Noobtubes)
Killstreak Balance: 6 (Lucky Chance + One Chance Challenge = Inacurate Bombing)
Innovation: 8 (Instant Overpowered Loadout In 4 Games)
Map Design: 7 (Giant Maps + Short Gun Range + Sniper Nerfs = Derp Salad)
Dev Support: 2 (Listen to Noobs Ignore Other 80%)
Connection: 6 (So Much Lagswitchs)
Im with you on most of this Ace but I know plenty of strong players who run support because it assists the slayers on the team running assault and that's the point of support.
I'm not saying support shouldn't be in the game, I'm just saying a single support streak should not have a significant impact on the outcome of the game and they should never directly earn kills.
gun balance: 7
perk balence: 4
killstreak balence: 4
innovation: 5
map Design: 3
developer support: 4
Connection/Netcode: 8
0verall 4/5
Gun Balance: 20/100
Perk Balance: 40/100
Killstreak Balance: 20/100
Innovation: 60/100
Map Design: 60/100
Developer Support: 20/100
Connection/Netcode: 80/100
Overall: 40/100
Still prefer MW2 , MW3 even BO2 (I'm not a fan) over Ghost .
I didn't like ghosts and I quickly got bored of it.
Gun Balance: 8/10 The guns were balanced with a few exceptions like the machine guns and snipers
Perk Balance: 5/10 I didn't like the new system because, like Ace said, many perks were mandatory and there were no trade offs.
I must say i agree whit you but i have stoped playing it because i hade really big issue whit the spawn system and the maps in generall.
I agree on the clan wars part. I got kicked by my friends as a joke during clan wars and couldn't win one match.
your the only youtuber i ever see make ghosts videos anymore.
You mustn't watch many TH-camrs yhen
i also watch driftor and vanoss. that's not too many though.... your probs right
your comment could be ambiguous, but if you are looking for some Ghosts gameplay, check out theMarkofJ. Absolutely unbelievably good.
Drift0r just made a video of all Ghosts lol
KOSDFF and SharpTube do a very healthy supply of Ghosts videos, but Ace and Tmartn are the only two I know of who actually do serious vids for the game anymore. Everyone else just wants to be cool in hating the game, I think.
Is it me, or was most things in Ghosts good on paper, but not in the actual game?
Gun Balance: 9/10
Perk Balance: 6.5/10
Map Design: 4/10
Innovation: 4/10
Killstreaks: 6/10 (Specialist bumps it up)
Connection: 9.5/10 (Almost Perfect)
This is my opinion... (I prestiged master and then created another account, right now prestige 3... so yeah I have played the game good enough)
Gun Balance: 6/10 (overpowered DLC guns ruin the game a little bit, M27-best known as unbeateable camping gun... and so on)
Perk Balance: 5/10 (you were forced to put almost always the same perks and there was no trade-off as you said)
Killstreak Balance: 6/10 (Oracle overpowered, support killstreak, assault killstreaks barely got you any kills...)
Innovation: 3/10 (didnt innovate anything at all just ruin the fast paced style of game that we all wanted with their "innovation")
Map Design: 3/10 (omg how fun is playing in a map that you cant find a single enemy- me everytime I play. The map design let to campers)
Developer support: 3/10 (at the beginning the developers actually patch or buff things but right now you tweet them something and they will ignore every single tweet...)
Connection: 8/10 (it was the best connection but idk the last few months the connection is being kinda laggy)
COD GHOST: 34/70 = 4.8/10
The Call of Duty in which you can expect campers and a slow paced game
no hate but Infinity Ward...you didnt do a good job :/
5/10 i found that the map designs killed it and some weapon inbalences killed gameplay. Developers didnt work hard enough on the game. That being said i still enjoy it. I have my moments where i can be doing well and bad. But overall the game needed to be tested and corrected a bit...
Dat transition! 26:25
Any other game (COD) is hard for me but this game because it feels like you can kill the player Easley. That's why i can go 30- 8 in this game and 14-9 in bo2
Noob
I just watched this review and bo2 and I gotta say u were quite a bit more forgiving to bo2.
Ghosts HEAVILY favoured full party teams against solo players.
The only people who enjoyed this game are people that run with a full party consistently.
I play Solo exclusively and HATED this game for one reason, clan wars and Support Streaks.
Here is my last experience with Ghosts...
I sign on during clan wars and decide to play DOM,
Of course I'm up against a full party of tryhards, with 2 guys camping each flag.
Blitz was one of my favourites
Here is the answer for the Nano Swarm! puu.sh/cr9ar/02db85222c.jpg
...I should probably watch the whole video before commenting. haha I don't know if I agree with you on the Prestige system. I didn't prestige before because it was pointless. I understand that it's supposed to be Prestigious...but i'm not a hardcore player. And all you get is an emblem. They need to make it so that if you prestige, you get something else that sets you apart, like a really cool camo, or weapon attachment, or something.
Gun Balance: 7/10
Perk Balance: 6/10
Killstreak Balance: 5/10
Innovation: 5/10
Map Design: 3/10
Developer Support: 4/10
Connection/Netcode: 8/10
overall i think the game was decent but definitely not the best. Personally i prefer it over mw3 but i would give it a 6-7/10
Blitz was a failure? How so? I thought Blitz was a blast. I usually scored the most goals in every game and I had some exciting close matches. Blitz was a great game mode in my opinion.
I feel like ghosts was a good game until they nerfed the mtar.because now the vector is obviously one of the best weapons and you just can't win a 1v1 when someone uses the vector
my rating 6/10
i think they should have added more weapons and make smaller fast paced maps like showtime
The only thing I disagree with was that the dog wasnt op I had a maniac and got killed in 2 bites
I really really like ghosts and with the squad Points i think the dev. Want to give noobies to give a Chance to get better
