Jesus heals a deaf and mute person fulfilling the prophecy of Prophet Isaiah (35:5). In the Messianic age, all impediments that come in the way of human fulfillment would be done away with. Jesus heals us and he makes us whole. In him we find our fulfillment.
This reflection invites all to emulate:
1. The people who brought the deaf and mute person to Jesus: come in aid of those in needy.
2. Jesus who was so sensitive to the needs of the person afflicted.
3. God Himself who is ever listening the cries of the poor and the oppressed.

நம்மைச் சுற்றி நடைபெறும் பல நிகழ்வுகள் வழியாக கடவுள் நம்மை அழைத்துக் கொண்டே இருக்கிறார். ஆனால் நாம் தான் செவிகளை மூடி வைத்துள்ளோம் என்பதை இன்று அறிந்து கொண்டேன். நானும் எனக்குள்ளே "எப்பத்தா" என்று கூறி எனது செவிகளை திறந்து வைக்க வேண்டும். எனது நாவினை பேச வைக்க வேண்டும். எனக்காக அல்ல. பிறருக்காக விலைமதிப்புள்ள ஏனைய மாந்தர்களுக்காக நான் பேச வேண்டும். அவர்களின் கூக்குரலை கேட்க வேண்டும் என்பதே இந்த மறையுரையின் சாரம்.
