Sadly, this is no longer exclusive to women. I have often been walking home at night, seen a group of 'youths' ahead and I put my my hand in my pocket to get my keys. Nothing has ever happened but in my head, I know I can't fight off 6 kids with knives with my fists alone. These are thoughts that never even entered my head 10 years ago. Not too long ago, one of the them said good evening as I passed and in my alert state, I almost decked him to preempt any attack. Poor kid saw my face and just looked confused and for a moment looked wary and scared of me.

Loved your reaction. I first heard Chinchilla about a year and a half ago when she sang a live duet with Ren 'Chalk Outlines', I was blown away. I then watched them sing 'How to Be Me' and was completely hooked.

The keys in your knuckles line to me is the whole premise of the song. The song is extreme and dark and violent because it’s an expression of ultimate female rage at the fact that our day to day reality feels like a super thin veil covering the potential for that level of darkness and violence able to destroy us at any moment.

Chinchilla's outfits ( which she designs herself ) always have some relevance to the song ( if we are paying proper attention ) " Karma's coming back for you ... and she's in the shape of me " is the significant line, in this instance. The level of creativity and attention to all details of song structure ( lyrically and musically ) as well as the visual impact with all its nuances need to be digested properly and fully appreciated by everyone. The imagery, when she sings ONE - BY - ONE - I'LL - CUT - YOUR - FIN - GERS - CLEAN - OFF, with that deliberate staccato execution, is subliminally ( and sublimely ) exaggerated by the fact that we have 10 digits on each hand ( granted our thumbs are not technically fingers ) but the placement of each syllable, I expect is not by accident .... such is the incredible attention to detail by only TRUE greats, as well as the ability to convey emotions with total conviction. Chinchilla is THE greatest female vocalist / artist out there today. 🙏 Respect for you picking up on the " PUT YOUR KEYS IN YOUR KNUCKLES LIKE I HAVE TO " line .... and I love how it is inspiring you musically - SIMPLICITY IS OFTEN THE GREATEST FORM OF COMPLEXITY in all art forms 🙏

Yes, but for the best effect it is god to listen to the original Little Girl Gone first, before doing the requiem version.
I personally prefer the lyric video over the music video for the first listen to the original Little Girl Gone, since I feel that the the video distracts from the lyrics. But that might just be me..

Just found your channel, loved this, new sub. This is my favorite Chinchilla performance, she's just so fierce! The "keys in your knuckles" line only appears in this performance - she came up with it just as she was rehearsing with the piano player and added it. There are some epic collaborations with an artist known as Ren you might want to check out. He is a musical and lyrical genius who calls Chinchilla his musical sibling and they compliment each other perfectly.

Wow, read some comments saying you should check out Ren, most Chillibeans are Renegades who came over from getting to the Ren-Chinchilla duets and when he took her busking on the streets of Brighton.
She stated that she was more comfortable performing at festivals and opening for Sting than busking. But once she got into it, Ren's favorite thing became one of hers. This from the shy Daisy Matilda Bertenshaw who as a little girl hid behind her mother's skirts when introduced to people. To overcome that her nails and outfits are her armor that turn her into Chinchilla.
Ren's catalog and videos are huge, he's hit his 'overnight success' rocketship having his latest album hit number 1 in the UK charts and that rabbit hole from his early busking bands to the amazing breadth of styles, now going on 7-8 years worth of videos, it is a monster task to react to, but nothing would get you to 10K subscribers faster than diving into the Ren rabbit hole.
Ren and Chinchilla have been seen together in Brighton and there is an expectation that new collaborations are on the way.

Heard it’s about her first record label
Fingers was recorded whilst Chinchilla was with her first record label, Sony Columbia, and appears on the Moon Maintenance for Dummies EP she produced with the label back in 2021. The live version was produced for the online magazine HungerTV, and was actually shot before the official video was shot, although after the official studio release was recorded. Chinchilla decided to go with stylist from the live version to re-work the look of the six characters she plays in the official video with only a few days notice.
Chinchilla has stated she left her previous label sometime in 2022 on mutual terms. Little Girl Gone is understood in part to reflect on the situation around the breakdown with her previous management; her previous label chose not to pickup the track though so Chinchilla released it independently. Interestingly, Little Girl Gone has been added to Chinchilla's catalouge with her current label (UMG's Island Records), with whom she releases via a dedicated imprint allowing more artistic control, and appears on her fortcoming EP *_Flytrap_* being released through her imprint.
You need to react to Ren "Hi Ren" first and then check out "Chalk Outlines" duet with Ren and Chincilla. I discovered Chincilla through Ren about 6 months ago. Your mind will be blown
