WHO IS BON?!
Bon is a big blue animatronic rabbit who is the mascot for a restaurant called Bon's Burgers and the main villain of an analog horror series called The Walten Files. The Walten Files, loosely inspired by FNaF, tells the story of a Chuck E. Cheese style children's restaurant and their unsettling possessed mascot animatronics, and it's all told through this creepy found footage 2D animation.
We didn't know much about The Walten Files before we started this project but we're SO glad we found it. A few months ago, we got a call from The Make-A-Wish foundation. A 12 year old boy named Loren wanted a full sized Bon animatronic, and after having made a bunch of Poppy Playtime and Five Nights at Freddy's animatronics, we jumped at the opportunity!
Our animatronic Bon the Rabbit has a sturdy welded steel frame and is animated with a wiper motor for the waist, and servos for the head and jaw. Standing over 6' tall, he turned out super intimidating. We even worked with Martin Walls, the creator of the Walten Files for a big surprise for Loren.

Kids pick up and remember a lot when they're really invested in a passion.
Their minds are built to learn so they can really grow into a hobby. I hope that building robots and animatronics is a passion he follows for life.

I almost thought it was strange that Loren was such a big fan of the Walten Files at age 12, but then I realized that I was 12 when the first FNAF game came out, and I was a big fan of that. It's nice to see kids continuing to enjoy horror.

Not only you made a Bon animatronic from The Walten Files that's been commissioned by Make-A-Wish, but you also got to work with Martin Wales, who created the series. That itself is a dream come true. You did an amazing job on this project.

Bro Loren is so eloquent and well-spoken. He's such a sweetheart. I'm praying for him.
I personally find that Bon is literally one of the most unsettling things I've seen so far.
Animatronics in his style genuinely unsettle me so much which is rare. The proportions are just slightly off.
His legs are slightly too short, the torso slightly too long, teeth just a little bit too big. The voice is cheering but with a malicious undertone. It's a peek horror character in my opinion.
I wouldn't go near him tho lmao

the odd-shaped eye sockets and elongated features make him more of a skeleton than a rabbit, as if his face had been peeled off.

I'm like that, I take things in and process them and when reflecting back show my excitement when I talk about those experiences, Lauren is very intelligent an old soul and I hope he gets well and is able to work in animatronics.

My favorite was 21:50 where we discover how poorly Feelers read Thinkers. Jamie, I promise you Loren loved everything you did... in his own way. Listen to how he considered every little detail. He appreciated it on an intellectual level and put more thought into your work than 99.9% of people, including your biggest fans and the loudest haters. Loren has his own quiet, subdued way of expressing himself, but suffice it to say, he gets you guys.

Loren was clearly thrilled out of his socks. He even covered his mouth with shock when Bon said his name.

Honestly the most insane make a wish request, but I gotta respect how he gave good reasons why he likes it more, anticipation always scares more than just going straight for the scare, considering it can lead to you not feeling as prepared for when the scare comes if it does.

Loren has been at my house many times and always draws these figures. He may not show much emotion but he absolutely loved the whole trip. Thank you so much for doing this. Now I kinda understand what he’s talking about. lol
I burst into tears when "Bon" started to talk to Loren directly. It's either because I wish someone would go to great lengths like this for me as well, or because I wish someone would say those kinds of things about me. Either way, it moved me instantaneously.

I know it’s a lot to ask but I loved when you guys did animatronic renovation videos. They were really fun to watch. If you can make a few I would appreciate it a lot. You could try and upgrade some of the new spirt animatronics because more spirts are opening up. I also liked the video where you upgraded a animatronic on a budget that was really cool to watch too. I also think it was really awesome that you guys did a such a nice thing for him! You guys are awesome. Stay wicked!
Never thought that I'd see the day that an analog horror character would get created in real life.
In my eyes, he was basically jumping up and down. You could tell he was floored, particularly when you showed him the voice lines made for him ☺
As someone with chronic pain myself, the energy we put out is just different. Being in pain all the time or feeling sick all the time means we usually express things differently; oftentimes being more reserved. But just because we express ourselves more calmly (usually), it doesn't mean we're not bursting with excitement inside 🥰
What I like about Wicked Makers couple is that they are such a normal sweet family with a bit of wholesome scary kink. Happy to see you in a new workshop that gives you more room to create.

At 9:37 its funny how the skull replyed that it wants its wig back and does not want to be turned off
One thing I like to use to make bendable fingers / joints is interlocking plastic armature. They work a lot like the octopus phone stand you used, but you have full control over the length, they come in different diameters, and you can even 3D print support brackets and mounting plates to connect to them. Just wanted to pass that along as it was a game-changer for me. Stay Wicked!

Now, I'm not someone who comments often, but the way Loren speaks about Bon is so incredibly sweet. I was around 8 years old when I got into FNAF but I never would have been able to speak so eloquently about it. He seems so smart for someone his age, and I'm really glad he got to experience something like this in person. His face when Bon started speaking was so sweet, you could tell he was really happy. He reminds me a lot of my little sister, their expressions and passion about FNAF and even the Walten Files, this was really lovely to see, and I hope Loren gets better, as someone who is ill myself
As a long time twf fan.. I think this is one of the nicest and sweetest things I have ever seen come from the series ever.. Loren is a legend fr, and i hope he can accomplish his dreams, and maybe even become like an animatronic designer, since he’s so interested in animatronics in the video. It’s makes me cry to see how much an impact that you guys gave to him in this video, it’s all very amazing. This little dude has great vocabulary, it was very refreshing to see how much passion he has in this it makes him so smart!
Loren comes across as such an intelligent, articulate, sweetheart of a kid! As someone who’s also got a rather reserved personality, he WAS showing lots of feelings! The fact that he gave you what was practically an itemized list of everything he admired about your craftsmanship, and the fact that he took such obvious care to make his compliments substantive and meaningful, is an expression of affection that takes a lot of brainpower to do. The fact that he almost teared up seeing real life Bon giving him compliments was magical to see.
Also, the fact that he complimented the accuracy of the body proportions is a GIANT compliment from such a meticulously minded superfan.
It’s great to see something inspired by Five Nights at Freddy’s take on a life of its own and develop a fan base comparable to that of the original. This video is full proof of that. I say this as a Walten Files fan myself.

This is so great. As someone that has a degenerative disorder and suffers from chronic illness and severe pain I had a smile on my face throughout the whole video. Chronic illness is not only physically debilitating but it’s also draining and taxing on your mental health, making everyday life a struggle. When a child suffers from chronic illness it hits extra hard. I hope this young man has a long life full of blessings and happiness. I really admire the fact you and everyone else went above and beyond to help this young man’s dream come true. Well done guys.

I honestly don't even know how to describe how impressive this is, the fact you didnt just do this for fun surprises me, and I never thought I would see another mascot horror fan who is young like me(im 14) and the custom voicelines were an amazing touch for him, im so glad I decided to subscribe to you guys when I did, because ALL of your animatronics are amazing, springtrap, the marionette, bendy, huggy, and so many more, you guys are the best, and I hope you guys will stay with us for a few more years before you decide to retire(which will probably be about like 6 or 10 years? Idk)
