I believe Bogart in 1950s was trying to get away from his 1940s movie persona: world-weary cynical anti-hero who doesn't want to stick his neck out but winds up doing it anyway in the end despite himself.(Casablanca, Key Largo, etc.) Thus we get Charlie Allnut of the African Queen, Lt. Cmdr. Queeg of the Cane Mutiny, and Linus Larrabee of Sabrina, all departures from Bogart's cynical hero persona he perfected in the 1940s.

Definitely one of my favorite "Golden Age of Hollywood" actors! Fave movie of his is "Sabrina". He and Audrey Hepburn just had that onscreen chemistry. Thank you for covering Bogie's grave. Here's lookin' at you, Scott. ☺️
I enjoyed Sabrina also. Boggy played the part so well. So dark in a way that love eluded him while chasing wealth and corporate success. He only stayed in Paris for an hour to change planes because the city was about love which he knew little about.
He didn't like that movie and said Audrey and the others treated him bad on set...(reading about it long ago) I believe he was starting to feel sick then to.

I also love the way you are always very respectful and providing some background information on people not everyone of us may be too familiar with, thus keeping their memory alive. On a different, off-topic note, I love the blue skies in your videos, the way they should be. Wow Scotty you did it again. You fulfilled my Dad’s dream (he passed away in 1972) by taking me with you to see Humphrey Bogart’s resting place. My Dad’s favourite actor was Humphrey Bogart and I know Dad loved his movies. All I remember while growing up was the name Humphrey Bogart over and over again not knowing who or what that meant. I grew up and my Dad told me about Humphrey Bogart being his favourite actor and there was no one like him. Full of class and the way he spoke. I did fulfil some of Dad’s dream when I visited LA. Checked out Humphrey Bogart’s star and also took a photo of myself placing my hands in his handprints at the Chinese theatre. I have the photo somewhere. I have watched some of his movies. Quite intense and serious but cool. Thank Scotty for bringing back beautiful memories of my Dad Stanley Kenneth Smith and Humphrey Bogart. As always lots of love from your family Downunder. ❤️🤗✌🏼💕

Lauren Bacall's book 'By Myself' is a great read I highly recommend. It belonged to my Mother who was almost a walking encyclopedia on film history! Amongst many others she also had a book about Peter Lawford, who came to mind when you were talking about the Rat Pack.
Hey Scott. I live in Jupiter, FL where Burt Reynolds had a home and subsequently died. I actually live next door to the hospital where he died. He was our neighbor growing up and was a friend of my dad’s and we all knew him. There’s some great filming locations here in Jupiter relating to Burt. Parts of the cannonball run where filmed here, the former site of his museum, a park dedicated to him, his home and the place where he passed are all here. Some of the original Rat Pack members were Judy Garland, Errol Flinn, Nat King Cole and Mickey Rooney. One of my all time favourite actors. Does Craig happen to know if Lauren Bacall’s ashes are at Forest Lawn? There was a rumour that her ashes were going to be with Bogarts. Another fantastic Vlog Scott!!
I looked her up on find a grave Diane and she had the same plot location as Bogie's plot location. I have been looking for that for the last three years! Yes those are some of the original rat pack! I could only remember Judy Garland (she was a neighbor at one time) and i think David Niven was one also.
@@janadeubner9883 Thanks so much Jana! I've always wondered. Years ago I saw her speak in Vancouver and publicly said that he was the love of her life. Quite a remarkable couple. That's amazing that Judy was a neighbour!! She is one of my biggest musical influences. Thank you so much for sharing! 😀
Suprised how small Bogart's grave was considering Bacall was loaded (26.6 mil). Her apt in the Dakota was PLUSH ! His death was a long lingering one where he used to be lowered by a dumb waiter down to see his org rat pack buddies. The original members included Errol Flynn, Nat King Cole, Mickey Rooney, Jerry Lewis and Cesar Romero. Also thanks for showing Pickford's grave. She is forgotten in Hollywood now but was a major player in her day. She was the first to hold out for a major contract then co-founded United Artists with Fairbanks, Chaplin,, and Griffith. Sadly, she died an alcoholic and a recluse. Her adopted children called her "too self-absorbed". Thanks for the great vlog. keep up the good work.....

Thank you so much for sharing this respectful visit to the private resting place of Mr. Bogart. Do you know if there are any live tours where the private areas may be visited? Is Craig an employee of the cemetery or does he have family in the private garden of memories? I have been a Bogart fan my entire life and own every one of his movies and documentaries. I will be in LA later this week and was planning on visiting this cemetery even though I will not be able to get as close to his resting place as you were able. Just being in the cemetery will be a very special experience. I plan on visiting the museum, great mausoleum and the Freedom mausoleum. Thank you!
Fascinating and beautiful video although I find it sad that Olive Thomas is alone in a crypt while her widower Jack is with his sister Mary. I am a silent film fan.
Still catching up. Came across something on Lauren Bacall. She was my favorite actress/person, not only due to her acting but for the strong woman she was, especially at such a young age. I then went looking to see if you did a video on Bogart. I read that Lauren Bacalls ashes were placed with Bogarts, but no mention of this, to date, noted on the site where they rest. Pleased and surprised, you were able to get into the locked area. What a quiet beautiful place to be laid to rest. Pickford's resting place is magnificent. Thank you for this video. Love Old Hollywood.

What a beautiful spot. The statues are amazing! Thanks for showing us around Scott. Another great, respectful vid. ✌🏼
👋 Scott Humphrey Bogart was one of the best actors in his own right may he rest in peace 🙏😇🌹✌️
Casablanca is one of my favorites! Of course so is Bogey thank you, Scott!!
Thanks for that. HB has always been my favorite actor, in fact, I was searching for one of his movies to watch when I came across this video. Thanks again.
Wow Pickfords grave. How awesome is that.
Extraordinarily beautiful resting place, well cared for and so private. I never realized how young he died. 57 looks so different now than it looked back then. Old souls.
Great vid, Humphrey was one of the classics of the golden era of Hollywood
Beautiful Scott!! One of the best actors ever! Thank you. Definitely a great tribute and interesting upload.
🕊️🙏❤️
Favorite movies- Casablanca and The African Queen.
I love how well kept and how peacefull these cemetrys are
Hi Scott on tape. What a nice vlog. Great 2 have people like Greg in this world. How cool that his aunt not only acted in a film but actually knew Humphrey Bogart. Thank you 4 taking us along. Have a blessed night & Labor Day tomorrow. Peace!💕🙏🏼✌🏽
What a treat!! Thank you so much.
Another great tour, Scott...thanks!
Beautiful cemetary. Beautiful video. Thank you for showing Scott 💞
Glad your footage is better quality with 1080p HDR. Any plans in the future to record in 4k? Thanks again for the uploads.
Hey thank you . Probably not tho as it takes triple the time to upload and I’ve had viewers say to me they aren’t able to see some of the ones I filmed in 4k
With the average size of a PC or tablet/smart phone. 1080 HD is excellent.-
Thank you Scott and Craig! This is amazing!! I would love to sit with Craig and just listen to him tell about old Hollywood.
Craig is such a lovely man , I love these videos showing us very private graves thank you Scott and Craig
Cool video. Keep up the great work!
Brother Scott, is possible to do a video on Canada's own Yvonne De Carlo?
great job scott , to see the final resting place of my late fathers fav actor was just class , thank you so much
Brilliant Scott. You cover well known faces which I never seen others do before. I even made a list of all the places I wanna visit when I'm in LA because you even showed us amazing places which I didn't even know existed in these death places and only yesterday I was watching some of your old videos too. I saved some on my favourite list.
One of the best actors ever! The legend 💙HB
I can't wait to start visiting some of the cemeteries in the States. They all look so beautiful. Fab vid Scott as usual 👍👏
I’ve never seen other vloggers cover this part of the cemetery. Thanks so much! Interesting!
You did a amazing job on this video as you always do.....sending you lots of love and blessings from Dallas TX❤👍
One of first biographies I read as young adult. Loved it
Great video, Great actor!!!!!🇬🇧😊
You are simply the best!!!! So kind and respectful!!!
Amazing video. I remember the guy who had surgery to look like Mr. Bogart. Growing up I watched all the old movies. Such a great tour of a secretive place. The Golden key...very cool.✌️
Babe Ruth once said:
“Heroes get remembered,
And Legends never die”...
How True.
Thank You, Scott
You’re Amazong!!!

@@SCOTTONTAPE thanks!
Hey Scott! I live about 20 minutes from George Peppards grave. I went to visit last summer. We’re you surprised by that cemetery? I was. It wasn’t quite what I expected to say the least. But I understand he was buried with his parents and grew up not far from the cemetery. Strange little cemetery in my opinion though. Have a good day! Thanks for the videos. I love them!
Very interesting video. Glad I was able to see it.
Thanks scott ! Enjoyed this! ✌
Loved the music to the video, both went well ❤, thank you Scott, for all the hard work you do for us the subs.
That was a beautiful video x
Scott coming in hot with his VIP status. I appreciate this video, make me re-think on potentially being buried or housed in one of those chamber.
Thank you for sharing this. I've been wanting to get in there. That area is such a beauitul spot. Thank you to the person who allowed you in!
Loved this so cool you got to see Bogart's grave, beautiful area in the cemetery. The music and clips were perfect. I'm a new subscriber, love your work Scott!❤
Loved Humphrey Bogart as well as my father did, when I went to Los Angeles/ Hollywood had to go to Gramsns theatre to step into his footsteps for my Father, every exciting time, also had to find his star 🌟
Ok, I'm jealous of you Karen!😊
