Ollier was indeed a comedic genius. Not only do I adore him for all the laughter but also for being an obviously wonderful person. The same goes for Stan. It was a match made in heaven.
Thank you so much…and thank you for showing respect to Ollie by clearing his little gravestone. 🥲 Sad to see it neglected like that…he and Stan were such humble, comedic legends. I really don’t follow or care for celebrities, but these two guys definitely will always have a place in my heart.❤ RIP Ollie and Stan.❤🙏🏻🕊
Thank you for this! I didn't know Oliver had graduated law school. So many comic geniuses were brilliant in other areas, e.g., John Cleese, who also graduated law school (and who is still with us). Since a small boy I've loved them. Now my 7-year-old loves them. Laughs to tears. Their legacy lives on, hopefully forever.
Great content again…the plaque in the wall bought by the Sons of the desert is a wonderful mark of respect for a comedy genius who, to this day has the ability to make people cry tears of laughter…LTJ…well done again and many thanks 😀
Thank you for posting this. It's fascinating! Thank you also for taking the time to clear the grass and weeds away from the marker for Oliver Hardy's grave. I am from a generation that grew up with Laurel and Hardy on the television in the UK. Oliver Hardy was not just a great comedian, he was a great actor. For confirmation of this you have only to watch the range of emotions that play across his face when it is captured in reaction shots in Laurel and Hardy's short films and features. He does so much whilst saying very little.
@@monastarioI don’t agree. As mentioned in this video Stan not only starred in the videos but also wrote most of them and then spent hours editing them until he was fully happy with the outcome. Just because you don’t see that on the finished product doesn’t mean that Stan wasn’t working as hard as Ollie. Without Stan’s dedicated work we wouldn’t have such good films to watch today.
Mrs H 🇬🇧 ...Stan Laurel was born in Ulverston Lancaster England ...Born 1890 til 1965.. Laurel & Hardy where a great duo...They'll NEVER be anyone like them EVER..!
Just seen a photo on FB from 1956, the last photo of Laurel & Hardy ever taken and following a quick google search came across your upload. As others have already said, thank you for showing us his resting place and for clearing it up. Stan and Ollie were Kings of comedy and will ALWAYS be remembered. Their laugher lives on.
I was watching your videos. there are videos like these that I have watched several times because they bring to life in the memory, characters who will never die. characters who have marked the past, present and future. Thank you ❤
You'd think someone from the "sons of the desert" or any recent fan club would look after the grave of such a comedy legend, sad to see a neglected patch of weeds, thanks for the information , great film.
I’ve been at that cemetery. It’s a very nice place. It’s very big. They do well maintain all the headstones. I go there to visit Gail Russell. The actress last night went there. The rain is covered most of the headstones because of the mud. Hopefully next time I go, that stones will be seen again.
Thank you LT for posting this video of Oliver Hardy’s home and final resting place.i grew up in a home where my entire family adored and laughed watching Oliver Hardy and Stan Laurel . The best of comedy came from them and can never be replicated. They were genuine and so loved ! Thank you for taking the time to weed around Oliver!s plaque !
My mom took me to cemeteries when i was young... i would never see other people there... before youtube i use to think... i was sic. Its nice to know im not alone. All the videos i watched... the vlogger 99.3 percent of the time alone. I find them peaceful. I wonder who they were so on. Stones are works of art.
I can't wait Laurel & Hardy is awesome they were a wonderful comedy team together as well timeless❤ their films will live on forever in our hearts thank you so much for basically doing this video your videos are awesome keep up the good work Lamont much love Maria Rose
Thanks for this fascinating video and for weeding around Ollie’s grave. I saw online that as of January 2024 the small weathered looking plaque has been replaced with a brand new one!
One thing I would point out about Oliver is how extremely light he was on his feet. I remember years ago being mesmerised when he started dancing in one of his films. He literally floated in his dance steps and for a man of his stature it was incredible. I do know that he took dancing lessons as a child but he never lost the light touch in his feet, regardless of his size.
There was another famous person buried there. I don’t know if you knew that, but it was actress Gail Russell she was buried there back in 1961 at the age of 36 years old. Very sad story about her but I’ve been there I place flowers on her grave, and I also put flowers in Hardee’s grave. It’s a beautiful cemetery, maybe one day I could be buried there time will tell
Erano e saranno i migliori attori della risatta ieri e oggi sempre con noi a regalarci la loro fantastica aventura grazie infinite .resteranno nella storia per sempre. 😍😍😍
Laurel and Hardy was funny i always watched all of their shows they was funny they are legends and was the funniest iconic duo and R.I.P. to them God Bless
Nice job. Thanks for the information. I gave many memories of watching Laurel and Hardy on television or at Shakey's Pizza when i was a young boy growing up in the 1970's.
Very good to see. One location - where the last colour footage of them both was shot is a different address. it was filmed in the back of the house at: 5429 Woodman Ave. VAN NUYS. The profile of the house is still similar as it the neighbours roof visible in the old footage.
Hey LT, nice video. But you missed an opportunity. Just below that Sons of the Desert plaque is the marker for Oliver's wife Lucille and her then-husband Ben.
Yep. Enjoy these series, always reach the same conclusion, no matter how famous, kind or talented these people were, they all, we all, end up in the same place. Life is presciois.
These were really close friends almost like family and Stan stood loyal to his buddy till his own death, he never did any comedy work after Oliver passed. It's a real shame that Abbott and Costello didn't have as good a relationship as these guys or we would've gotten so many more comedy films from them, pretty sad😢😊
Questi due grandissimi attori, che hanno fatto la storia del cinema comico, meriterebbero di riposare insieme, in un bellissimo mausoleo a loro dedicato, altro che una piccola targa alla memoria!! Meritano il massimo rispetto!!
A cool bit of trivia about Stan Laurel ... All the way until he passed away, he kept his home phone number listed publicly, for any fans that wanted to call him.
