  • Jumped the gun on a diagnosis but got the system back running properly. Had to work on 3 of these complexes today all around town 😅 all with a bunch of different issues.
    Tenants back cooling, though, and that's what matters.

    Oh man, now you have me curious about what those call backs were for. If you have the time, please let me know. Or, you could do a whole new video on what can cause most of your and/or industry call backs. Thanks again for all these videos!!

      One of them the condenser needed to be cleaned and the other I misdiagnosed a board. Where I thought It was the board (I found it intermittently loosing 24v coming from the Y terminal on defrost board going to contactor but never dropping it across any of the pressure switches). Turns out after I replaced the board on Wednesday morning it was doing it again by Friday afternoon. My boss found that the ground screws that mounted the board to the panel were incorrectly mounted, even though I had them mounted the same way they were on the old board which is probably why it was experiencing issues. I guess Goodman Heat Pump defrost boards need the grounding screws in 2 specific spots not just any of the 4 you can use

    Nice video man. Don’t sleep on measure quick!!
    For the future consider putting a tee where the trap connects to the straight pipe coming from the air handler, then no glue put a small piece and a cap so that you can brush out the trap without struggling. 9 times out of 10 your clog is in the trap.
    Makes it easy to clean no co2 no vacuum non of that, quick brush to break it up the flush to clean it out

      Yeah I've been doing better about using T's for the entry of the trap. I would've corrected that issue then if I had more fittings but I ran out. Really need to stock the truck Monday morning 😬

      @@AB_HVAC have you tried measure quick?

      @AB_HVAC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @drodriguez394 I've tried it but to REALLY get the most out of it I feel you have to add a bunch of info about the unit to get the most out of it. The fieldpiece app can guide me in the direction of things to check too but I've definitely seen measurequick find a RANGE of potential issues.

      @@AB_HVAC not really I mean your not used to it. You can quick put in your seer and tonnage. If you have air probes it will calculate your cfm your target suction pressure and head pressure
      For a piston it will calculate your target superheat I mean it’s awesome I really think if you sat down and exclusively used it for a month you would love it

    I’m new to HVAC repairs. Could you explain why you’re testing wires when you are trying to diagnose the problem? I’ve watched a few videos and I see people testing wires, but not really explaining the steps in which they are doing it. It would definitely help with a quick response in the video as if to explain for someone new like me.. keep up the good work on the videos. I like that you’re very humble and don’t know everything so it actually gives me confidence knowing that I too make similar mistakes but learning and watching videos helps to make me a better technician out in the field.

      No problem, when I can prop the camera up on my tripod it makes it easier to explain sometimes but I don't always have that space. I'll try to get better at it for everyone

      I just got the new field peace valve core remover with glass site and I also had an issue with removing the Schrader valve. I felt like I had untightened it and it felt like I was removing it, but it would not come out and did not see it attached and pass through the site Glass. so I’m not sure if I was using the tool correctly.

    • @AB_HVAC
      @AB_HVAC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @RCCartel idk, I know I've had to pinch the appion ones closed a bit and now it latches everything. I might have to try it on the fieldpiece one. For the price they are I don't think that's fair but I love the overal quality of the tool

    • @RCCartel
      @RCCartel 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AB_HVAC my only complaint is that it’s to big ( long ) it won’t fit in to some tight spots. The Appion seems more compact for tight spaces.

    If you would’ve put a vent after your p trap it would drain better and stop being an issue for the Tennant every year. Good video appreciate the content

      @AB_HVAC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well the p trap can still get clogged with or without a vent tho I'm pretty sure

    It amazes me that the return box on the unit is made of plywood with duct seal on it. Why wouldn't they just wrap them in bubble wrap so you don't get mold? The soapy hot water was a nice touch.

    For the repeat drain clog houses. Ive been testing a theory. These terrible clogs didn't happen all the time with copper evaps because copper is a natural Antimicrobial. Where Aluminum isn't. So ive been taking about 2 feet a like 14 guage wire and laying it in the drain pan. I guess well see if it works

    • @AB_HVAC
      @AB_HVAC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dang man, I was told you could get away with a piece of 3/8 the width of the pan laying it in there flat or (if you have the EZ trap) you could leave a piece in the P trap itself

      @chrisdevine5328 oh yeah, that copper trick works. I've seen some company somewhere online that sells a copper embedded rope that you're supposed to pull through your drain line I think and they guarantee no clogs supposedly.
