• How to DIY Custom Door...
Here I do a Distance test of my new custom fabricated DIY door speaker pods. They contain DS18 6.5’s and 8” midrange speakers. Also in this test I have 4 total ds18 super tweeters, 2 per A-pillar.
For the front stage demo in this video, I am running 2 crescendo symphony S4 amps. The tweeters are running off one, and the doors are running off the other. Each speaker is getting about 125 watts. So about 1,250 watts rms total going to just the front doors and pillars.

This ALMOST happened to me. 32 speakers in a 92 Mustang hatchback.
Got a bit too far away from my car and saw a few guys walking toward the concert on pony wheels. I SPRINTED back. 😅🤣😂
Not too long after that...someone did break into the car and relieved me of ownership against my wishes. 😢
I got the same a pillar pods and DS18 super tweeters. I also have 1 8” and 6.5” in each door. It’s is crazy loud. Thanks to your videos I am very happy about my set up.

You are going to need “4 way stretch” vinyl to wrap it. You can easily stretch it around shapes and contours. The standard stuff is really hard to do it with

In my specific application I only needed 1 yard. Cut it in half to give me Two pieces that were 1.5’ x 3’ long which was perfect for my 2 pods

So I have 2 crescendo symphony S4 800 watt amps running my doors and pillars. On 1 amp I am running my left pillar on channel 1 and my right pillar on channel 2. On channel 3 I am running my front left 6.5’s and on channel 4 I am running my right front 6.5’s. Every channel seeing a 2 ohm load considering each channel has a pair of 4 ohm speakers connected. My other amp, I have the front 8” speakers connected to their own channel. Left channel 1 and right channel 2. And the rear 8” speakers connected to their own channel. Left rear channel 3 and right rear channel 4. They are 4 ohm so each channel is seeing a 4 ohm final load. Hope that makes sense

I just subscribed, I got a bit of an issue, just had a ds18 system installed. 6.5s zt6 with horns and a 7 band eq etc. But the sound is unbearably harsh. I've tuned it the best I can but I didn't do the install and for whatever reason I'm getting low frequencies (under 100hertz) playing through the 6.5s even though I have 2 12s on a separate amp.
I think there's some finicky stuff going on with either the eq or the rcas but idk where to realistically start.
Man.... I’d probably take it to a reparable shop and have them dial it in for you. That should not be happening. 6.5’s should be HPF’d at no less than 125-150hz minimum. Things like this are hard to diagnose if not there.

6.5’s on left to channel 1. 6.5’s on right to channel 2. 8” on left to channel 3 and 8” on right to channel 4.

I plan on running on these in my coupe doors, no amp, stock sub and, jbl rear speakers. Will bass be somewhat present or pack a punch in kicks?
If you put these in sealed pods they will punch Perry dang good. Free air them in the panel, the punch is reduced

6.5’s in parallel 2ohm final load channel 1 left and same for channel 2 right. 8’s ran direct to amp. Left channel 3 and right channel 4

I respond to everything. Well if you must run them with your current amp I’d just run them in parallel with your 6.5’s. Just make sure to use some inline bass blockers.

8ohm? That either be pretty underpowered. They really need close to RMS power to really perform

If I bought 4. 6.5 ds18 pros. For my 2012 ram 1500. Which amp eould u recomend to get the best sound. I would like bass also from those speakers. I already have 2 kicker comp rt on a kicker cx1200.1
A good 2 channel would suffice. Run 2 per channel @ 2ohm final load per channel. I’m partial to crescendo, so I’d say the symphony S2 or something similar.

Well these amps specifically (symphony s4) have internal splitters. So you can input 2 rca’s but have 4 channel output :)
