🤯 incredible find Jason! just think, some day the boys will bring their young ones to blue beach and be able to say your grandfather found a tetrapod jaw right here! and it’s now in a museum!

I used to be friends with Chris! I was 10 years old when I met him and saw his museum. He even showed me the beach where I was allowed to hunt for my own fossils to take home. We keep as decorations in our garden. We would come and visit for the next few years, but I can't recall the last time I've been over there. As I got older, we just grew apart.
How exciting! I am sending this to all my rock-crazy relatives.
The bigger slabs would make a beautiful edge for my flower garden. Very cool fossils.
Where I grew up in New Hampshire there is a quartz vein that has a sister vein in Scotland that it used to be attached to. That is such a spectacular find, congratulations!!!

Amazing! Now that is what I would call an awesome day at the beach. I love that type of find and to think about that creature and what it lived through and what the world might have been like a few hundred million years ago! And to think you might be so fortunate to actually have a new find that could be named after you; that's pretty special.
It's mind blowing that this creature lived 350 million years ago!

Man, all of the fossils you can find there are so cool. I love fossils! Im so glad Nolan is following his heart to discovery his love of palentology! And that little jaw piece is exciting! Heck yeah, take it to the museum. When all youve been finding is plant fossils, teeth are super exciting! A Tetrapod jaw! Wow!!! Im over the moon happy for you! That is just amazing! I hope they do find it to be a new species, and you are the first finders! What an amazing honor it would be, to have it named after you! That is such an amazing find! That old timer is Amazing and what a life to live. Getting to go play on the beach in the fossils everyday . I hope there is someone to continue his work and knowledge. I'm in Oregon we don't have many places to find fossils and we can't keep anything like that legally at least. There is a place i know about and its on the coast and then another that has trilobites. I'm sure I messed that up. Epic find boys.

I would so excited finding that! I love that it's in a museum. At first I thought no keep it. That lasted about 2 seconds because learning about creatures and plants from history is way more important.

This is so cool. Congratulations.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I can't understand how footprints can be fossilized. Water should be able to wash them away pretty quickly. Watching from NE Ohio.
I'll try to explain it in a couple of sentences. The terrain was swampy. When the creature steps in the mud it compacts it making it very strong. Even when the area flooded it wasn't enough to erase the footprint completely. sediment would then fill in the footprint hole burying it. After a millions of years the rick turned to mudstone.

East Lothian. The coast of Burnmouth, the banks of the Whiteadder Water near Chirnside, the River Tweed near Coldstream, and the rocks near Tantallon Castle alongside the Firth of Forth

Question so what is the process for looking for fosiles in Nova Scotia like what ones the museum is instead in, and is the rules like I can go to blue beach fosiles hunt but just can't take any?
The regulatory guidelines are that no fossils are to be removed unless you have a heritage permit. That being said, I have removed fossils from the beach that I knew were going to be destroyed by the tide and offered them to local museums. Most of the time they tell me to keep them. In this case here at Blue Beach I knew I had something extremely significant so I took it up to the owner of the Blue Beach fossil museum.
