My bottle is batch code 4O1X January 2014 and I assure you at least on me it is extremely weak. I used 5 sprays and two hours later when my wife got home from work I asked her if she liked my new fragrance and her response was: I didn't know you wearing anything. This was while I was sitting right next to her on our couch. This is my standard test for new fragrances. I had stopped smelling it on myself after the first hour. I did smell it on my hand where I had sprayed, it was a skin scent. While I agree with you that you don't want to fill a whole room up, I expect arm length silage for at least 2 hours. Top notes that only last 20-30 minutes are borderline also. Performance varies sometimes depending on the individual maybe this just doesn't not work on my skin. The scent is fantastic but I need to up the dose next time I wear it to see if that helps.
I blind bought this and like it but while longevity is good, at least on me performance is horrible. Even putting 5 sprays it is a skin scent after an hour. It lasts 8 hours but no one will be able to smell it on you after the first hour. I wish I could find a bottle of the old version.
+ram2711 I dont think the performance is horrible. I have a 2006 bottle and a 2013 bottle and I dont think the performance is that much different between the two. The older bottle has more jasmine and elemi resin. I think the volume is just right. Do we need to force our fragrances on other people in the room? When you pass by people they will smell it, trust me. This is a classy fragrance, with appropriate performance for a gentleman. Guerlain did it right.

Does your bottle have "Eau de Toilette" written on the bottom of bottle? On the front face of the bottle I mean
