How to play Assault:
1: Equip the perk that increases explosive resistance while wearing your gas mask and the one that gives a small increase no matter what.
2: Grab the MP18 Trench.
3: NEVER remove your gas mask.
4: Somehow kill scouts from distances that would be impossible if you were actually aiming while chucking anti-tank grenades at attack planes whose autocannons failed to dent you.
5: Look good doin’ it.
Alternative: go objective raiding with the automatico trench with that perk setup and make people mad
Get the MP18 and be a sniper

The MP18 and Ribeyrolles 1918 were my mains for a while and they are absolutely solid guns. Cannot go wrong with either or.
I prefer the annihilator over the automatico cause it's magazine doesn't block your vision. Also, you need to fully sell out and rank all the other class' weapons, starting with support.

I prefer the boty but aiming down sodes on automatico is more controlable and More accurate, on the anihilator, its mostly a hip fire gun cuz for me its hard to control it
I prefer the MP18 or Hellriegel over both.
The Annihilator is good on paper, and absolutely shreds up to two or three targets in a hectic scenario.
Problem is, there's always a fourth guy who will catch you with your pants down after you emptied that mag in .2 seconds.

Everyone says the madsen mgs magazine block your vision. Never heard anyone complain about the automaticos magazine. Why? Absolutely no idea
The RSC is underrated. Many consider it bad but it rewards a careful assault play style. I was constantly getting kills during operations.
Its the Martini Henry of SMGs. If your aim is good, you will almost always win every 1v1. The trick is to keep it at 1v1s.

I used to always choose the automatico over the annihilator, but after losing a few gunfights to the annihilator recently, I decided to give it another shot, and yeah, its a lot better than I initially gave it credit for.
I know it's a niche choice, but the Maschinenpistole absolutely slays for me, love that jacked TTK
Another more niche one for me is the M1900, that range and sheer power always does it for me
The Hellriegel defensive is underrated because basically nobody has the time to GET 300 KILLS WITH THE FACTORY AND 25 AT MINE KILLS!

I’m literally trying to get it (I’m not really Hellriegel main anymore after discovering the beauty of Ribeyrolles, but it sounds interesting), but so far I’ve managed to get like 6 vehicles(?) with AT mines. It’s just pain in the ass lol.
It is absolutely aweful. Best way I found to do it was to hunt AA Truck campers. They don't pay that much attention so you can easily set up a charge in front and behind them. Then back up, throw an AT grenade at the middle (so it doesn't blow up the charges), the AA player is going to panic and drive over the mines. Sure it's only one kill... but it's better then nothing 😅
@@Matthew-vw9dm easiest way to get kills is on maps like Amiens. Especially the A flag just run as far back as you can almost to the bend drop your mines and go...most people run into them without expecting it...ive had 100s of cheese kills this way.

For me, RSC is a d tier. It has a good amount of dps. At certain range, it can melt a smg0818 player no problem. It definitely is a fun gun to use for its uniqueness. But it does require some skill to have fun with it.
For some reason I’m more comfortable with this gun then any other assault class gun lol
I've always said that the MP18 is the AUG A3 of Battlefield 1.

In my personal opinion about the RSC SMG I understand people hate to use for the recoil, slow reload, short magazine and bad range but it has a good damage if you're in a close range to kill only 1 or 2 enemies in just 1 mag if you're good aiming your target

I'm sorry but Ribeyrolles is S-tier for me. It's by far the best SMG on range, so much so that I've pushed LMGs, Rifles and Snipers, while still having great performance on close range. Did I also mentioned how the gun has nearly zero recoil, and actual zero recoil with the bipod (and decent hipfire even on the optical variant)? Because that makes getting headshots piss easy with the gun. I used to be an SMG08/18 main, until I learnt how to consistently headshot with the Ribeyrolles. Although the 08/18 is king of close quarters, I feel like even with mastered recoil I lost on range against LMGs and Rifles, something I don't lose as much now that I have the Ribeyrolles. So many hate mails from pissed off snipers and supports calling hacks on me. Its relatively small mag size also doesn't pose much of a problem now, unless I'm getting pushed by 2 squads at the same time. When there's a top 08/18 fragger on the enemy team, it's always a battle of range between me and him, he wins on close range, I consistently win anything further than that.

Thanks for the Machinepistole shout, I think just the experimental could be b tier almost. Although putting it there would be carried by how fun I find it to use and how challenging it is, I have noticed it outcompetes every weapon in a closish range 1v1 and I think that’s a super valuable asset to build your class around. That being said the number of times I’ve died with it and immediately went “oh if had the smg o8 there I would’ve got them all” has far surpassed my count 😅

SMG 0818 should have its spot above S rank lol. It just does so well you can one man take down a whole objective in conquest. But I wouldn't put it as 'it's just sad' given the game is, well at least in Asian servers, full of bipod LMG players. It's always nice to wipe down the whole group of LMG players with it in one magazine, with a bit of smart flanking.

I may be the only one in the world who says this, but i absolutely prefer the pre-rework smg08 over what we got now. Back then it was literally a pocket lmg that gives assault a fighting chance against every other class, cavalry included that is 50m away

Ngl I unironically use the RSC smg. Single taps at range plus spray at close range seem pretty effective to me. Yea the recoil sucks but its easier to tap than try to manage recoil. It's one of those things where you have to be stupider than the tool in order to achieve symbiosis
Oddly enough I also kinda suck with the smg0818 for some reason. I really tend to operate on feel over math which leads me to roll against the grain a lot
I really wish the machine pistol didn't get reworked. It was already an extremely hard skill cannon but it became pretty much useless when they increased the recoil
I never understood the hate for the Rsc, it's actually quite good if you get used to it's recoil, which isn't even that heavy. You also have to learn to time reloads and keep and eye put for approaching enemies. It's quite good in the awkward close-mid range that the assault class struggles in.
The maschinenpistole experimental is good! It's one of the few assault class guns that is controllable and useful at the close end of medium range, and it can two-tap people! Really, the only major flaw is the slow and awkward reload animation.

Ok so I would rank the Model 1900 in A tier. That thing is so fun to use and it works so well. You just need to pace yourself with your 2 shots. The slug variant is also my favorite gun in the game. I can use slugs and not use that weird ass scope like the other shotguns. I can out snipe people with Springfields and SMLE by using the Model 1900 slug.
The Hellrigle is still a gun for pussies, just like the automatico and SMG 08/18
Also DICE doesn't understand how slam fire works. Whenever I use it on the trench gun my accuracy goes to shit. I have a clip were I'm point blank shooting a guy with 12 gage and the pellets are just going around him. Never seen so much cheese in my life
I love 12g automatic, it’s literally spray and pray. Just look at an enemy, spam, and woa the killsound
It's still incredibly frustrating that guns like the RSC SMG, Double Barrel, and other PCC's aren't options as secondaries for Scout class. Would have been a great compliment to an otherwise limited role class.

Scout is anything but limited in BF1. Flares and sweetspots allow Scouts to be more aggressive than ever. Imagine thinking you have the upper hand on a scout in CQC and he one hits you with a shotgun.. or melts you with an SMG that carries more rounds than most handguns.
However, the M1911/1903 Extended could’ve been interesting secondaries for Scout or Assault..
Mathematically yes, I’d agree with you in the fact that the Annihilator is better. But the difference between the two is the simple want to hear nothing but a buzz when you mow down an enemy with that 900RPM, and that people use it to melt enemies in trenches. And the option to beyonet an enemy Special Class. People usually reach for the Automatico for a quick fix victory. Whilst the Chicago Typewriter is deadly in the hands of a skilled stenographer, the Automatico has some versatility. I too usually go for the Tommy, since it’s an icon, fun to use, and just plain ol fun to use, but the true factor into who wins against who in a SMG duel is: Who gets the shot first?
I like the 2 round burst of the m1912 so its my favorite assault weapon
Sawed-Off shotgun is the only shotgun where you feel like you DESERVED the kill because it forces you to be hyper-aggressive. Also you feel like the Doom Slayer while using it. Easily the most fun shotgun even if it is just a worse model 1900.

I think that the sawed off is a good secondary weapon not a primary because the damage is OP
the problem with the rsc is not that its a bad smg on paper, in fact on paper it has decent damage and whatnot. The problem is its skill required to use is rarely ever worth the reward of using it. If you can hit all your shots and if you have perfect shooting techniques it should be able to compete, but its a lot like using the deagle in counter strike when you can afford an ak. yes, the deagle and ak can both one shot headshot helmets, but the deagle is a hell of a lot harder to pull the one shot off with. overall i mostly agree with your picks, statistically you are correct on pretty much all matters here, however after the A-10 nerf i would consider the trench gun the better shotgun personally since i find the consistency slightly more usable.

The skill required for it to compete with even ok weapons may as well be put into a hellriegal or something as you would do much better

Lewis gun is best gun in my loadout with the most kills at 150
I won't disagree that the RSC is aids, I however had a good experience with it when I first unlocked it because my mouse sensitivity was insane, so I could control the recoil much more easily than other people could. In that specific scenario it's a gun that can fuck up single targets but struggles with groups. I kicked ass in tdm before i figured out my mouse sensitivity, and discovered the true way lmao. Basically the only way to have fun with it is to use your computer wrong, which I think speaks to how shitty it is.

no way is the RSC E tier. Yes it has a small clip but you can win any duel from short to even midrange if ur good enough. Im taking it over so many of the assault class weapons
Sawn off shotgun is my main for assault right now, but unless your on Argonne forest, you can’t use it on conquest

Modell 1900 in c tier is a crime. The factory version is meh but the slug version is one of the top 5 assault guns in my opinion. I admit its hard to play because you really have to hit every bullet + you need to play a lot with cover to reload. But if you get used to it it pays off. I actually had a lot of my best killstreaks in bf1 with this gun bc on close quarter maps you can seriously dominante every other player. For me its an a tier for sure.
automatico also doesnt need any unlock, available from level 1 so you dont need to grind anything
I wish people played BF1 on hardcore. I think people would enjoy it better if they gave it a chance.

Frommer stop auto is too low. It's at least low A. The things that make Automatico so strong also is true for that gun. It's in mag reload is so fast that in some ways it's preferable because you will almost always have rounds ready to go and reloading after every kill is not so threatening in close quarters. In a lot of situations id take the super fast reload over the bigger magazine or better accuracy stats of the Automatico. Both S tiers are correct however far and away the best guns for assault.
I agree with everything except double barrel slug being that low and that the ribeyrolles has a fuckin bipod dog. That rarity in the assault class should put it up to S

I haven't played it in about 6 months, so recently, I've been trying to give it another go. However, I keep running into a bug where I'm kicked from games to the main menu without any explanation or code. I'm in the process of trying to sort it out, but it's really draining desire to play it when I need to delete and reinput files just to get it working 😮💨
Always have a problem with the 08/18 because it never land on its target, the recoil is to much for me

Any assault weapon like the SMG 08/18 but with more distance?
I'm having problems with the smg 08/18, because its horizontal recoil is so bad that sometimes even at close range it hinders me and makes me miss shots (which is making it pretty inconsistent) and anything beyond close ranges is practically impossible. So I've been thinking about an alternative to it and my biggest candidate is the hellriegel 1915, as the reason I wanted to use the smg 08/18 was a weapon with a large magazine and a decent close range ttk, which the hellriegel does it, only a little worse, however the tradeoff is in precision, unfortunately I haven't unlocked it yet and so I still can't decide which of the two I'm going to use mostly in my loadout.
SMG08 is already op as hell and you still want more range lol. I’m glad it’s banned on most community servers. It’s the easy win gun for Cod players.

It's not too bad. It's a bit annoying when I'm trying to record because of the brace, but overall, could be worse
I don't know about you, but i freaking love the RSC for CQ, reload is fast enough for me even with the super small clip. Plus it makes for a pretty fun weapon, and against sweaty players it's just the best. Game is plagued by SMG08 abusers that it's just tiring constantly seeing it in "top tier".

Annihilator is overrated as hell, it is useless in mid ranges and you can't even hit at long ranges, the recoil is horrible, sometimes you can't even kill cause the mag is so small,it is useless in open maps and useful in close quarter maps like the fort but there are better guns for that map anyways, the annihilator is B tier at best
The smg 08 and hell riegel are noob weapons i only have 3 service stars with the hellriegel because obviously when you start the game you use different gun and i have 40 kills with the smg08 and thats mostly with the old version the low rof and automatico is better than tommy gun more rounds faster reloads higher rof had a bayonet to counter kits and lower recoil and spread still both are good and the mp18 burts experimental i have 15 ss with it nice vid

@@engiturtle65 no because it has a lower rate of fire the hell Rigel it's like this it's a perfect gun no real down side with a big plus it like playing at a consistent 7/8 sure other guns might do one or 2 things better but they come with many down sides this is a WW1 game so 650 rpm with 60/120 rounds defensive variant is already great the mp18 is fine because it hold less ammo and is less accurate and shoots slower.

My opinion about SMG 08/18: if you are able to kill somebody with something else, you should not use 08/18. In this case it's like a legal cheating, make more disappointing than pleasure.
My problem with it isn't that it's op, it's actually because is inconsistent, even at close range. That's why I'm trying to unlock the hellriegel 1915, since it plays a role similar to smg 08/18.

if you still don't like 0818, try automatico - it's a legal replacement. Also burton or even frommer-stop, but not hellriegel
@@gandibaat3637 Look, considering that the short-range ttk is below 300 ms (with most weapons in the game having a ttk above it) then that's enough for me, besides for me the purpose of using the smg 08/18 is for the fact that it has a decent close-range ttk and a large magazine.
Furthermore, the difference in ttk from automatico to hellriegel at close range is only 10 ms, which is a very small difference, even more so considering the benefits that hellriegel has, in which case it would be much more worthwhile to use the annihilator, because then there would be a considerable difference in ttk, however, I'm not only looking for performance at close range, but also a large magazine and at least a little accuracy (this is the reason i'm having inconsistencies with smg 08/18). Plus I already use Burton primarily in one of my support loadouts.
What I'm looking for is a weapon that I can mostly use in one of my assault loadouts (with 3 of them available, although the other two are already well established). Finally, I always try to populate my loadouts trying to fulfill a certain role, for example, I use the Sjögren as the weapon for more frequent close-range combat, the hellriegel would be something like that but sacrificing lethality for capacity and lastly the Ribeyrolles 1918 as a more medium to long range weapon due to the bipod and bullet velocity.
@@gandibaat3637 I just unlocked the hellriegel and went for a match and just destroyed it, I was first with 45/11, I even managed to kill multiple enemies several times in a short period of time, which is exactly what I was looking for with the smg 08/18 and the hellriegel ended up corresponded, but it surprised me that it manages to be controllable up to a medium distance (and I no longer feel inconsistencies as I did with the smg 08/18).
An interesting thing is that I finally managed to unlock the smg 08/18 optical, basically this will be the last chance I will give to smg 08/18, since the reduced spread can end up improving its inconsistency and funny that I spent many games trying to destroy the tanks to complete the task for the smg 08/18 optical, but nothing worked and precisely in the game I played with hellriegel I managed to destroy the 5 tanks with the AT mines haha.
@@gamerbg294 Oh, I see, didn't even think that hellriegiel has similar ttk like automatico's one. I play in a more casual style, for me larger hellriegel capacity than automatico is not a lot, I feel comfortable with automatico fast reloading. I just feel more comfortable with automatico due to it's higher fire rate :)
My main loadouts are similar - Automatico (or even Frommer Stop Auto because it gives lot of fun) for close range and Ribeyrolles for medium to long ranges
Automatico and Mp18 feel much better than the Annihilator and Smg 08/18 simply because of their better recoil and range. Easier to control, especially when dealing with enemies who are further away from you.
