    What would you recommend for me, a 6'3" 235 lbs guy? I've got long legs to most seat pans have a hard time reaching to get close to my knees. I've tried the Herman Miller Embody chair and LOVE the back support and the way the back of the chair goes all the way down to the seat pan. The seat pan is also the widest and deepest I could find. The only complaint I have on the Embody is since I sit for 10+ hrs a day the seat pan fatigues my butt because there is no cushion. Also, there is no head rest. I would love to hear your recommendations. Money is no object.

Do not purchase a chair that is not based on Contract Furniture standards with a Dealer as those inexpensive chairs do not have ergonomics in their design; will break down with use in 6 months or more; and do not have environmental standards to abide by.

I've been recently exposed to that info and I'm not a specialist in that matter, so I'm not sure, despite I've always agreed straight position is not comfortable at all.

    Great video! But do you have any suggestions for avoiding anterior pelvic tilt from chronic sitting? Also, what is the fully adjustable chair to the right called? I need a chair like that one.

    • @TheErgonomicsGuy
      @TheErgonomicsGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Typically an anterior pelvic tilt is not the problem as most chairs promote a posterior tilt. If you are sitting too far forward try lowering the seat pan.

    • @RaqibZaman
      @RaqibZaman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm. I asked because according to some sources, anterior pelvic tilt is caused by the shortening of the hip flexor muscles

    • @TheErgonomicsGuy
      @TheErgonomicsGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What sources? Hip flexior shortening can be caused by sitting because the muscles are held in a shortened position. They run from the spine ti the top of the leg. Typically tight hip flexors will not affect pelvic position when sitting but will when standing.

    • @RaqibZaman
      @RaqibZaman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Typically tight hip flexors will not affect pelvic position when sitting but will when standing."
      Yea, that's what I am talking about. I suppose the only way to avoid that is not to sit too long- maybe using a standing desk is a solution?

    • @TheErgonomicsGuy
      @TheErgonomicsGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neither! The problem is that the back rest is fixed, so unless you are leaning back the back rest wont support your back. Check out a Friant, Office Master or Neutral posture. They are all much more adjustable. But if I had to chose i'd take the Aeron as the pad is reversible so you have some control. Although the newer ones have a different system. Please contact me at sitesolutions@hotmail.com and I can give you more recommendations.
