I have a Costco membership. As a single person buying in bulk looks differently for me. I'll purchase beef roast or salmon, and divide them into portions. After vacuum sealing each package it all goes into the freezer. Generally I spread my food purchases over 4 stores: Costco, Whole Foods (organic produce), Stew Leonard's and Stop n Shop. Now that it's summer, I'm enjoying the local farmer's market! Everything is abundant and the prices are wonderful. There's no Walmart in my city, and I'm not a fan of Aldis. I read labels, which prevents me from buying a lot, LOL. I'm in agreement with you on the tortillas and bread. Haven't bought either in awhile. I learned to make biscuits, which are a treat. 😊 My pantry is pretty good considering it's only for one, but with the winter approaching, it will be well stocked. I don't favor driving through snow or bitter cold to get to a supermarket.
It's so nice to have you back! I would love a video on your tortillas. I make pretty much every other bread product homemade but have never been brave enough to do tortillas.
Family of 6 in southeast Missouri. I buy from Walmart and Aldi. 10 box for a lot of the meat. High prices are killing us, so our shopping is a bit different. Not as much milk, nor eggs right now. Hardly ever cuts of beef, only ground beef.
I shop at the local grocery stores and get the best priced item at each store. We have Aldi, Lidl, giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter and Wegmans. I still buy chicken whenever a store has it on sale for $1.99 lb. I stock the freezer to get us through until the next sale. We grill up chicken once a week to use on sandwiches instead of lunch meat because it is healthier and more tasty. Cutting out more things is how we have kept our budget like making all bread, roll, and baked goods. I just added tortillas to that must make list. It is hard to keep the budget but still doable with enough changes. Good luck!
I am fortunate that there are six different grocery stores within 5 miles of my home. Being retired empty nesters, we have the time to shop the weekly loss leaders at each store. I go through all the ads, make lists and hit the road on Friday morning and make my rounds. For us, it works out to be more economical for us to purchase meats on sale and freeze a few months worth. This week, Lowe’s Foods has pork tenderloin for $1.99/lb, so I’ll buy several packages and add them to the freezer. We also shop at Sam’s and Costco. We make a weekly meal plan for breakfast, lunch and dinner and are very intentional in having as little food waste as possible. Hopefully, our fall garden will provide fresh veggies as well as some to preserve.
Thank you Audrey. Since we are both retired now , our shopping looks so different. We mostly shop Costco and ALDI. Maybe hit Walmart 2 times a year. We buy oils and things so infrequently it’s hard to remember prices. 😴
Yes, please share your tortilla recipe again! I have tried to find it in your past videos because I do remember you sharing it, but had no luck. Thanks so much!
My neighbor has that human-sized pet bed. It's comfy! My grandmother had "feather thicks" similar to those. We used them when we spent the night with her, ss she had wood floors. Great memories!
I love sams club! It's my favorite of all the places I have available to me. This was very informative Audrey. Ty so much for sharing. I'm loving this series.
I am also a senior and live alone. My bulk shopping hauls are basically pet food. I don't eat fried foods and don't use butter. I live primarily on fresh produce and lean meat so I tend to shop more often with very small purchases.
I shop mostly at Safeway and a bit at Wal-Mart. I just keep an eye out for sales, mostly at Safeway. I sometimes shop in Sam's but they have quit carrying a lot of the items we used to buy there. Some of the items the idiots decided were seasonal, like hot cocoa and chai latte. You can still buy some items but only through the mail and pay for shipping. Not worth it. Great video. Thank you
What is your favorite apple place in NC? I was raised in NC and now live in east TN so NC would be very convenient for me. The Apple places in VA are outrageous.
I was looking at my Sam's app while watching your video and most prices were the same for us in Texas. Cheese, apples and beef patties were a little different (not much) but most everything else was the same.
Just fyi sams has frozen chicken breast, 10 pounds for under $20 & they have a different brand of low carb tortilla wraps that uses olive oil instead of the others.
Thanks for this video you may want to start reading the great value labels they ad so much crap to their food, sometimes paying more with a name brand, you get better ingredients the member mark bacon is a prime example. Fyi

Have you heard of Azure Standard? You can get all these things all organic, and generally cheaper
Love Azure. I live 3 hours south of the warehouse. Our truck driver is kind of a neighbor.
@@marge3157 bend?
Azure has organic rice
Olive oil has gotten so pricey. But I use that and avocado and coconut for baking. I love walnuts!
Check azure for rice
Olive oil here in spain is even pricier. And we make it here in Spain.

Also the chickens come pre made and are pumped full of chemicals. Read the ingredients it broke my heart. I STOPPED buying them.
Audrey are y'all ok? Damage? Family?
I was wondering the same.
Vote republican or it’s gonna get worse
