Yeah, nice car and $40,000 is about right. I spent my teen years working and driving E49 and E38 Chargers. Now, nobody can acquire one of those but if you could, expect to pay $250,000++. My idea of a Charger rebuild would be a restomod.
Nice VJ. While the VF-VG-VH Pacers are my favourite Valiants, I've always appreciated the look of the Chargers. Just has that classic old school 2-door muscle look. I really like their ass. That duck tail-styled spoiler with the rectangle tail lights looks so sweet. Nice channel bro, I just discovered it. Will be nice to have a young bloke covering Aussie cars, old and new. Since I mentioned the Charger having a nice ass, how would you feel doing a video on a VQ-VR-VS Statesman/Caprice? They have an ass that would make a Kardashian jealous. EDIT: Also just as a note, those wheels are commonly referred to as "jelly beans", due to the shape of the slots resembling jelly beans. They were actually a pretty cheap wheel back in the day, and nothing special, but today they just look so nice and classic.

I guess an original one would be more than 40 large. But to have an original E55 with the imported American 340 would be special because Chrysler attempted to give the Australian consumer something akin to what was happening in the US muscle scene; and I think that creates value in and of itself. Unfortunately investor activity has put these cars out of reach for many of us and bringing out a US model and paying duties etc can be far cheaper.
American Mopar man here, Chrysler never built a 314 that’s a 340. A 2 barrel carb in a 340? That would have to be a 4 barrel carb, Chrysler never put a 2 barrel on the 340 it was strictly a performance engine. Love the Aussie Charger.
I have the entire season of Bluey and there are tonnes of Valiants from this era in all body variants. These were an Aussie icon. PS why must you emulate Doug Demuro's narration style?

Are you sure you didn't mean 340 2BBL. Never heard of a 314. And the seats were always soft and bouncy and would give you a sore arse after 4 hours driving ,but we didn't mind.
Though I appreciate the time effort & your upbeat enthusiasm into reviewing this car with modified spec E55... but it really isn't its a tribute or replica at best....The video heading "rare V8" is misleading if it was a factory E55 then i would say you have a point... You state that it's more special that someone put the time & effort to making it a E55 .... your positive spin doesn't necessarily equate being more desirable however if you restored & kept it original you will still have an equally just as desirable car... But nevertheless it is a nice car.

The Charger buckets were the best in the business. They wrapped around you more than other brands and were a softer cushion than modern hard seats.

Holden seats gave a sore arse, not valiants or falcons. Vals had the best seats and charger buckets were more wraparound than sedan buckets.
