      Federal has had problems in their .22LR seating the primer properly for years. Idk why Vista doesn’t correct it. CCI generally doesn’t seem to have the same issue.

      @@DK-gy7ll I own a CMMG Resolute 300 Mk4 5.56mm rifle. I also purchased the CMMG .22LR upper. I have shot thousands of rounds of various brands of ammo through the .22LR upper and I've yet to experience a malfunction. My goto ammo is the very Federal 38 grain in this video. The CMMG .22LR upper fires and cycles everything. So, I'm not sure about your "crap ammo" comment. Then again, the CMMG .22LR upper is $650.00 and is aluminum versus the polymer upper on the 15-22. Perhaps I'm comparing apples to oranges.

      If you follow through with this you will have to call yourself, The Gun Doctor. And in your store your receipts should look like Rx prescriptions 😂 and headline it with one prescription of freedom. And instead of ammo label it freedom pills . If you don't do this you are wasting a golden opportunity.

    The great thing about 22 is that the ammo is one of the most affordable. I can shoot it without feeling like my wallet hurts every time. Also, if you are a prepper or are waiting for a possible civil war, this is a great caliber to stock up on. Yes I know it’s not going to do the most damage but I know that I can easily haul over a thousand rounds in a backpack if I had to be on the move. Also, if you can’t afford your AR ammo, you might as well use it as a bat because it’s not going to do you any good. Would rather have a loaded 22 than an empty AR

    • @saltyark7564
      @saltyark7564 2 ปีที่แล้ว +61

      Shot placement is everything, in a survival/self defense scenario you can take down anything just as dead with a headshot now matter rather a 22lr or a .223.
      Don’t get me wrong I’d rather have a .223 but, with no recoil with a .22lr you can put all shots on target really quickly.

      Absolutely right! No, the .22 isn’t a big bad 5.56 or 7.62, but you are going to regret getting 4-5 hits out of a 25 rd magazine if you’re in a fight.

    • @samuelneil2691
      @samuelneil2691 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Dont get me wrong I like 22's a lot but my problem with a survival situation is the range. Bullet starts dropping a lot after 100 yards. I'd rather have the range in a 223. yea you can get much more volume from a .22 but only at a relatively short distance.

  • @BlackGryph0n

    It's a shame the 15-22 was being so finicky for you... I've fired thousands of rounds through mine and only ever had FTF which I blame on the round.
    Cycles flawlessly and is a GREAT inexpensive way to train AR platform muscle memory! And it's SOOOO light! I love it!

    I have owned this rifle for about a year and two months. It has seen about 1500 rounds. It was having frequent fte issues and then it stove piped. To avoid this, break the gun in with only cci standard or high velocity, or norma. If you do get a stove pipe, Use a .22 cal phosphor brush and some solvent and and basically go to town back and fourth on your chamber and feed ramp. After the gun is broken in, you should be good with any high velocity brand ammo just do not shoot it unless its in trays because the gunpowder kicks around and sticks on the brass causing jams. I also recommend cleaning and re lubing every 350-500 rounds at the most. Also you can use a brass or phosphor brush to get the white or blue crap off your recoil spring.

    I had the same extraction problem with my 15/22 in the beginning. The malfunction is caused by the extractor being to close to the Bolt. There is a fix on the S&W site as well as TH-cam. I remember back 8n the late 80's there was a company that made 22 lr clones of all the cool rifles like a AR-15, Thompson 1927, MP-5 back before the AR platform became popular. Back then a Remington 700 or a Winchester M-70 or a Weatherby was the chosen fírearm in bolt action and the BAR Browning was the most popular semiautomatic rifle I ever sold. I would sell a few a week over Remington. Semiautomatic rifle's were not that popular other then milsurp. The M1 carbine and Garland, AK-47, thompson SMG semiautomatic and H&K USC. The USC was my favorite PPC. I had one 8n 45 acp. It shot like a dream. I wanted to SBR it and put a can on it but I was too busy buying antique firearms. Owning 2 M&P 15-22's one being a pistol and the other the Performance Center rifle length I can tell you that the guns will run any type of ammo even the ones not recommended after you have broken in the rifle I've put more then 2k rounds through both my rifle and after that they run any ammo from any manufacturer even"Heavy" subsonic loads the rifle will cycle them like normal but I had tried the same ammo when the pistol version was brand new and it would struggle to fully cycle that being the bolt going far back enough to eject properly and load next round. The Performance Center version I only ran CCI Mini-Mags, Velocitors, and Stingers and she ran like a top never any malfunctions to eject, feed or double feeds. My favorite round to run are the Stinger's they're the HyperVelocity 32gr 1640fps. The Stinger's are definitely on the hotter side, you'll notice a louder pop and concussion if you think the 22lr has any lol but it honestly does over the standard velocity stuff and lastly the Stinger's have a much more flatter trajectory over standard stuff

    I have this rifle and I can't say enough how much I love it. It is rapid-fire and accurate and while it might not have the stopping power of a larger caliber, if you put ten rounds into a bad guy, he is going to seriously reconsider his life decisions. If the SHTF, this is the perfect rile for a new shooter or slightly built person to defend themselves.

      Lol 10 rounds n you got 25 more. If you got a good trigger finger you’ll pump off half the clip before buddy moves 5-10 yards. Not to mention if nobody’s around you wont hear it w/small suppressor n sonic rounds
      Wait what happened ?

    I have a tippmann m4 elite in 22lr and it runs flawlessly. Only jams I’ve ever had were before I knew you had to clean a rifle and was after 1000 rounds. Now that I clean it every 250 or so, I’ve not had a single problem

      And I believe the issue causing the jam was the magazine, not the gun itself

    Notice when he tapped the gun @18:30 while it was on the table, the bolt released forward. Proof positive that you always want to ensure the gun is unloaded when not in use.

    • @ClintDaniel009
      @ClintDaniel009 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s an AR platform, so the bolt release is on the left side of the rifle. If you lay it down on the left side with the bolt locked back the table can release the bolt.

    Everyone underestimates 22. It’s a bullet and it can still kill you just as easily as a 9mm can. Out of all the guns i own I always have the most fun at the range with my 22s

    Love your vid's Sir.. Been in Buds a lot while at Lawrenceburg. I too have this exact M&P 15-22. Going on 5 years now and still is the best 22 I've ever shot. Don't get me wrong, the Model 60 and 10-22 are also unique in there own way. Its just an awesome 22. Have 4 25 shot mags, so at range, 100 rds go pretty quick. MSgt DAS, Retired 'Nam Vet.
