I’m an American, 4 times a year traveler to South Africa, lived there and retiring there, and can 100% endorse everything Ashley said. The biggest challenge is getting Black Americans to recognize that as much as they don’t trust information from certain Catalonia, it makes no sense how they believe anything they say about Africa (a place where they are least qualified to give advice on). Yet we do and they know they trained most of us well.
South Africa is a breath of fresh air. A place where humans live. The most “developed” I’m humans on earth. Safety✅ Better health✅ , lower costs ✅, well behaved people ✅ Young people who respect old ✅ food and water quality ✅
Run. Don’t walk; to South Africa.

Thanks for repping this country so well. Of course, we aren't perfect, but we aren't bad either, despite those who want to break the laws of this country and then call us xenophobic when the law act on them or citizens raise their concerns.

Our South African sister Ashley 💕. It’s nice to see through our beautiful country through your eyes. 💚 I would suggest however, that you look into getting a hospital plan in case of serious emergencies. It’s a few hundred rands a month. If you’re ever in an accident or something, you will likely be taken to a public hospital due to not having insurance or aid. But staff are overworked and struggling to recover after covid at state hospitals, conditions aren’t always good. If any of you are ever in a situation where you can’t speak for yourself, having a hospital plan to ensure private care is a good safety net. And in private healthcare, the bills can really add up when it comes to long stays and emergency surgeries etc.

To most of the South African people we see America as one of the greatest place to leave on. We are also surprised when we see most of our brothers and sisters from other countries in the continent of Africa see SA differently from the way we see ourselves. @EasyMoney-p8k I think every country is unique and that is the beautiful thing about African countries. Nigeria is different and unusual as a South African, even a country as close as Mozambique is different and unusual once you cross the border. That's not a bad thing.

16:56 It is VERY important that migrants enter ANY country legally and NOT illegally. The USA has a system in place to vet people and allow them entry once they pass background checks etc. It is irresponsible to advocate for ANY body or criminal to enter simply by crossing the border illegally. If you can get past the smoke and mirrors of the liberal Dems you’ll see the wisdom in requiring LEGAL immigration just as millions have done before today. 💯

We call the ER section of the hospital "casualty" at home. Sometimes you'd be billed on certain casualty procedures that the medical aid didn't cover or doesnt cover the procedure because of the certain packaged plan you're under in a branded medical aid. I used to go to casualty for nebuliser and it'd be deducted from the hospital plan on the medical aid. I miss being in my mom's medical aid😢 she forgot to obtain a police affidavit, a form and make a certified copy of my ID before my birthday month two years ago as an adult dependent. It still feels strange🙃

Strange, however I am assuming that you did not visit any State Hospital but rather a private doctor and ER of a private hospital such as Medicliic. My assumption is base on the amounts you paid to see a doctor and ER. You are correct when it comes to crime. Crime is based on the area you live in. SA has a bigger Private security than Police Force and this is the reason why the golden mile is secure but in the townships and suburbs it is entirely different. I can attest to that because I have experienced it myself - my son was shot in May this year sitting in his car at the gate waiting for his kids to get in. The shooter didn't demand but shot first and then demanded the cellphone. Thankfully he lived after being shot point blank in the stomach, bullet shattered his liver gall bladder, shot off the connection between pancreas and small intestine, through his duodenum and clipped off a piece of his spine on the way out of his back. Nope, it depends on where you stay. I am extremely happy we have business people from America living in SA because foreign interest particularly from USA is important. We desperately need growth so we can decrease the terrible unemployment issue we have however I can't see this happening if the government consistently keeps pushing Expropriation without Compensation - no company worth it's salt will invest if their property and intellectual property is at risk.

  • @G-ManWaseKasiInManchester

Thanks Ash. Actually, only 13% of the SA population lives in informal houses - and that includes YT/Coloured SAns. I think SA is not so different to the UK, but it’s definitely prettier. Maybe a few issues like my peoples mentality etc but that’s just oppression consequences - def not unique to the South and we’re the first gen so we should be fine in the next few years.
I think Trump might just develop the US as he is a business man - hopefully he keeps it a 1000, fair etc.
    Thanks again ❤

African Americans are loved and admired here due to our shared struggle for equality. We consume your entertainment so we tend to get along due to this familiarity. The so-called "xenophobia" is very exaggerated. The anger is directed at illegal foreigners committing a disproportionate level of crimes here. Legal African migrants (in their millions) living here are not the source or target.

you r asking the wrong questions, you should be asking if your Africans r treating us,natives of South Africa good?no ,they don't, they human trafficking, sell drugs to our children she sparing theirs, murdering natives during robberies, tell me would you continue to love such?no, moreover, they have nothing to offer, have no legal documemts, no requisite critical skills, involved in illegal mining and raping of women around those areas?

It’s actually not a good idea to wait till you are older to get a medical aid because they will increase your monthly premiums in order to make up for the time when you were not on medical aid. They start penalising you from age 35 years. You pay 25%, 50% , 75% or 100% extra, depending on how long you didn’t have medical aid from the age of 35 years

    Good morning Ashley.
These misconceptions have been there for years. Look, when you say you have been healed by the land. The Europeans, when they touched here as a refreshing stop for them on their trip to Asia 600 years ago they decided to settle and call this land home.
Like I mension on one of your presentations before, our country is also labelled as not safe and dangerous. The very same white people, they travel to SA more frequently.
My question is, why are we lable like this? What is behind this misconception?

South Africa is a racist country and Americans go there and close their eyes to the truth, including this lady.
An American job website state the below about SA:
At the same time, we are decisively addressing the historic inequalities created by the previous exclusion of blacks, females and people with disabilities from opportunities in employment, training, development and career advancement through our Employment Equity Plan.
Please note that there are currently no open roles available in South Africa.

We don’t have a lot of guns in South Africa and even if pointed at you they do NOT actually want to shoot coz jail awaits.
Having lived in Gauteng twenty years, I have never personally experienced crime, but I also don’t go to places I have no business being in, i.e. inner cities, townships and poorer areas that our black visitors seem fascinated by.
If you can go to Mexico then South Africa is like being in the safest parts of Europe.
Sandton looks better than any part of New York I have ever seen.
I used to come home to South Africa for major treatments - cheaper and doctors are better experienced because they don’t rely on endless tests to make diagnosis, less specialised and see way more patients.
