Jerry is so highly articulate, very intelligent. He can explain things beautifully. You can listen to him and never get bored. What a gift.
He’s the one guy that every time I get a chance to hear anything that he says, I automatically watch the video. And the books are the same, I think over the years I’ve read just about all of them.

Frankly it was good just to hear his voice. A familiar voice from my past filled with laughter, stories, and some wisdom. When playing some music it seemed like he had one foot in this universe and the other foot in another universe and we all got to peek inside of it with him.
Amen to that.
There is an interview around in which he talked about that state. It’s akin to mindfulness to my mind. However, there is something further out than that accessible by some people who suffer episodes of mania and with marijuana. It’s like a super-mindfulness but one has no control over it coming and going, it’s the muse or ‘genius’ in the original Latin sense (a presence of a spirit).
But he definitively states that he is looking for that state, however he would describe it.
It’s pretty indescribable really.

Jerry's music always spent some time in a place where no one else did go or could go. The music was his being and it was rich, full of flavor and color. He and his music were distinct and irreplaceable.
That is put very good because I think like that ! He is all over he world doing his thing as usual being a ghost + all as I know for sure because I’ve seen them in my lifetime !

I just started listening to his interviews...extremely intelligent...very articulate...great narrative voice. He mentions the New Jersey turnpike...it's a fast lane highway that takes you from Philadelphia directly into Manhattan via the Lincoln Tunnel or the Holland Tunnel ( always take the Holland Tunnel).
Jerry gets arrested on the New Jersey turnpike..which was easy to do in the 70's and 80s. I grew up at exit 4 of the New Jersey Turnpike.
Any creative person..musicians..artists..bohemian.....actor...designer..always love to tell their New Jersey stories..it's a badge of honor that is a weird assimilation.. if you ever hung out in Manhattan as a creative person...the oil and petroleum state ( New Jersey ) touches you. This interview with Mr Garcia was excellent..wow was he intelligent..articulate.
In 2022 he could make billions just narration...obviously that would not be his scene.
It sounds like you may be a North Bergen guy?! I knew a taper from there and stayed with him during all those Giants and Brendan Byrne shows. I love Jersey heads so much. peace.

I probably made a comment on this site before but who knows but I'm coming back from I'm pretty sure it was Baltimore I had hitchhike down by myself and hitchhike back by myself and on the way home I saw Jerry's Garcia getting busted not realizing that that was Jerry at the time but later that day I heard about him getting popped in some I think it was a Cadillac and yeah I saw it going 50 miles or 60 miles an hour but I did see him get popped

Apologies. It's the way my source sounds and when I increased the recording levels it sounded 10 times worse believe it or not lol. It was all hiss and swirly sounds regardless of noise reduction as well. ✌
The imperfections are what make so many of these recordings great.
