Is silicone safe?

I'm sure you've heard support on either side of the argument -- and so the answer to is silicone safe is COMPLETELY subjective.
In short, silicone is a less toxic option than plastic, but there are very important things you need to know when it comes to using it and buying it. Not all silicone is created the same and not all applications of silicone in the kitchen are safe.

Is it safe to use silicone Cutting board to chop cooked meats? Some of the silicone will be chopped up and eaten along with the food.

@@thsimonyee6732 I like silicone for anything that doesn’t heat it up. When silicone is heated there can be some off gassing. But as a cutting board I like this option for things that could harbor bacteria.
