I found a patch of peach cobbler double daffodils in the tree line behind my house this year. They are amazing and I'm so excited to move them to a place where we can enjoy them more next year!

We sort of accidentally discovered that we can kill off little plots by laying the bed liner mat from a pickup on the weedy ground we wish wasn't weedy.
A few sunny summer days and that little spot is ready. The heat cooked everything. Makes gardening way way easier.

We did it over the weekend in central illinois. We were given a dozen and a half bulbs five years ago. There were over 100 when we counted. Spread them out all over the yard.
We cut the leaves off because we usually cut them back to grow annuals. Next spring will be lovely.

I observed that after the flowers fade in the Spring he pulled the daffs up with the greenery to plant elsewhere, with a teaspoon of fertilizer in the hole and try to keep them green for 8 weeks at which time you can mow over them. I pulled mine today and by Jun 12 (the 8 week mark) I'll mow over them. Biotone or FlowerTone is a good fertilizer to use in the bulb hole then place the bulb in the hole and cover with the dirt.

Very helpful! Do you have to store them and wait till the autumn to replant them or can you replant them right away? We had to dig up our garden in the late spring to get rid of a rather aggressive and pernicious ground foliage/plant that was overrunning our garden. But this meant digging up all our bulbs (daffodils, tulips, crocuses, allium, etc). We need to put down a membrane to prevent the invasive plant from returning. But can I replant our bulb plants right away rather than wait for October?

I want to replant some that are just now coming into bloom because they are in random places in my yard. Will I kill them? I’m okay with losing the flower early this year but I want to ensure we have the flowers next spring. Thank you so much!

The home we purchased was empty for 28 years. i have beds that are solid bulbs over 1ft thick deep. 18 roses..including a 80 year old Rambler. and an Owyhee mountain Prairie that the yard reverted too after 28 years. we just found a paved walk way. 7 inches down.

    Good video. 💕👌🏼
When is time to dig them out and then in?
Is it okay to dig them out when the leaves are still green to let the Bulbs drying?…
How to restore them for next fall to replace them?...
    Thank you 🙏🏼

When should you divide the daffodil bulbs, fall or spring? I have seen others that remove the green tops before replanting? Does that make a difference?
