- Lots in this one from the 2nd treatment of acriflavin 1%, update on the moving bed, air source heat pump, the koi and garden.
Also the implosion of the Evolution aqua 95 air pump!
Great video mate, always a pleasure to see proper Koi keeping at it's best 👍
Don’t forget you were putting Peckham spring in the pond
So many jobs we need to do Keith, and yet never enough time in a day to do them all! Just keep going & eventually they’ll all get done!! At least that’s what I tell myself 😅😂😊
Haha, was a busy weekend 😅 but better weather so not complaining!
Hi Keith,
A other great update on fish and pond I had the same problem with my easy pod so I got rid of it and got I drum filter mate.
Steve
I can see the draw away from the pod Steve! Just hoping the mushy stuff reduces as can't be doing with two cleans already!
Great update. Really enjoyed watching ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I've replaced loads of these on my pumps over the last 20 years, from my experience the reason you cant buy the diaphragm's on there own is because they are factory glued to the thinner plastic plate that goes on first.
The larger piece usually gets smashed in the middle when the diaphragms break depending on how powerful the pump is, you can see those white impact marks on yours where the nut that holds the diaphragm to the magnet have hit when they broke, it will either crack or smack a hole through them plus they have non return valves built into them so its good practise to change the lot really.
I know they say to fit non return valves to them or mount the pumps above water level but tbh they have them built in, try blowing back down the air line into the pump and you will pop a blood vessel before anything goes back.
Yeah I noticed the wear and tear but what a con! 66.98 to replace, bet there's no more than a tenner to make!
It’s the cold tap water Keith, I have exactly the same on my pond
Hi, this weather is difficult to gauge as I'm creeping the ASHP controller temp in line with the natural rise until the water hits 24c, then I want the ASHP to hold it for 4-6 months if poss! Cheers
Hi I have a blown EA air pump with good diaphragms it’s a 70 so not sure if they will fit but your welcome to have it
I think it would help a lot if you insulated the sides of your pond mate
I got rid of my easy pod, I found I was going through 500L of water just to get it resnabley clean, my homemade Filter tub filters 8000LPH no problem.
did you think of a Compact Sieve 350.00 or 200 micron bag 20.00?
Acriflavin or Acriflarrrrrrrrvin...........🤣
Flavin but Flarvin in my North Nottingham accent 😆
Buy jecod ma100 for 99 pounds instead f EA it’s overpriced
Keith mate could it be the pool is too big uncovered for the ASHP to cope at 600w I personally would be running that on your black tank with the shower aslo you'll struggle as the sides of the pool aren't insulated 🧁👍👍👍
I'm not sure yet m8, I know it wasn't designed to be most efficient below 5-7c so it will struggle at this time of year to raise above 18c as temps still dropping low. Not dropping below 17.5 though so creeping temp up naturally then when at 24c I'm hoping it will hold 24c for 4-6 months then, So like in mud ponds 😆
