Clean Disruption - Why Conventional Energy & Transport will be Obsolete by 2030 - Boulder June 2017

The keynote, based on Seba's book 'Clean Disruption of Energy and Transportation' and RethinkX 'Rethinking Transportation 2020-2030' assert that four technology categories plus business model innovations will disrupt energy and transportation by 2030:
1- Batteries
2- Electric Vehicles
3- Self-Driving Vehicles
4- Ride-Hailing
5- Solar Energy
The outcome of the Clean Disruption is that by 2030
• All new vehicles will be electric.
• All new vehicles will be autonomous (self-driving).
• The Internal Combustion Engine will be obsolete
• The Oil industry will collapse
• Coal, natural gas and nuclear will be obsolete
• 80+ per cent of parking spaces will be obsolete.
• Individual car ownership will be obsolete.
• 95% of miles will be on-demand autonomous and electric (AEV), a new model called Transport-As-A-Service (TaaS)
• All new energy will be provided by solar (and wind)
Clean Disruption is a technology disruption. Just like digital cameras disrupted film and the web disrupted publishing, Clean Disruption is inevitable and it will be swift.
