This tutorial was amazing! I gave it try with one model of an interface/console I designed. And it looked great. For my first time using Houndini I rewatched the first part of the tutorial (the first 8 minutes) for like 2 hours, but it was worth it.
Hey. thanks for the tutorial mate! I'm extremely new to Houdini and was a little worried initially at how fast you run through everything, you still manage to explain the process perfectly so thank you! Hopefully will see some more Houdini tutorials. :)
Can you share the file for reference ? because it goes in many direction at some points I get a little lost. Looking at your file and the way you put the nodes together would help me in my comprehension of the simulation you are showing. Thank you for your great work and sharing it like this. This Houdini community is really rich and creative.
not sure if this will get answered, but currently disintegrating and imported object being a flower and due to the amount of polys I used the poly reduce node so running this will make it easier. currently im 7:42 in but the difference between mine and yours is I keep getting pre existing particles already moving before the actual simulation starts is there a way to counter this on my side and i did try convert it to a mesh?
This is a great tutorial! Short, fast and understandable at the same time. I'm so tired of 1 hour long tutors with same amount of information and some weird version of English as an addition))) Thank you!
Please make more Houdini tutorials! This was the best houdini tutorial I've ever seen including all the paid courses out there seriously. or at least you should really make a paid houdini course then you would make so much. Like Steven Knipping, one of the most popular paid courses online, but most tutorials including that of him don't really explain some things much in the middle assuming that people already know with poor quality video and lack of explanation in those. Honestly you're the only one I've seen so far who put the keyboard button indication thing.
Good stuff. As yet another Houdini noob, I really appreciate how you quickly touch on what each little button is doing as you move through your set up. Very helpful. I learned a few new workflow buttons today... so thanks for that. :) Also, if you're working and you want it, just go ahead and treat yourself to Redshift. You deserve it. Banana.
Great tutorial, but how do you give the principled shader to the pig? Also my mantra won't render, at all. It will just say cannot write data to image device no matter what I do or change.
banana ex machina more redshift/houdini tutorials. especially making lights that will show up in the scene, for example creating a light that looks like a kino flo light or the emissive light of an FTL drive or car headlights or fireflies or a glowing orb. i'm struggling using redshift to get those kind of cool in scene lights to show up nicely while lighting other objects in the scene
When I add the boolean and attach the objects to the nodes, both objects are still visible and just flicker when I press play, not sure how to resolve this!
So I worked it out. In Houdini there must have been an update since this video. Instead of using poly extrude use extrude - old. Using this solved the issue for me.
Great tutorial though I am experiencing some weirdness. I am following along but using a word not just a letter. My noisey boolean cloud glitches in and out. do I need to make a sphere for each letter for this to work on a larger item?
Good question! In Houdini 17 SideFX removed the default box from the geometry node, so if you're on H17 then you wont see anything when you drop down a Geo node. -Theo
This is my first ever tutorial with Houdini, thanks you mister, i do have one question and i cannot find it no matter how hard i google it. I cannot see the effects on my viewport and it doesnt matter if i hit the display flag or not. Is there a way to display the outcome and see the whole effects i applied ?
i found houdini really intimidating But i learned A lot from this tutorial. i'll check it out Next monday. At least they have a free version, Not like most of Autodesk's products.
For those who are new to Houdini and are struggling by understanding any thing here, I feel you, I would understand nothing too if Im not a little bit familiar with the Basics of Houdini. I suggest you to go and Watch ''Houdini is not Scary'' on youtube, then when you're finished with that, come and watch this video again and Thank me later
Hey nice tutorial, i appreciate it, i have a techincal question, what proccesor do you have?, your simulation is very fast!! and want to to buy a pc for houdini work, Thanks in advance
Hey Victor! I currently have a threadripper 1950x, but some parts of the tutorial might be sped up because no one wants to watch things sim. That being said this was a pretty light weight scene, so you should be pretty safe on most reasonable hardware. -Theo
Banana. Do some more Houdini stuff! It's what sets you apart. Also, of course you should be using Redshift! Get with the times man! (But seriously it is pretty nice.)
Perfect. Finnaly Houdini! I just enjoy your splendid tutorials. Keep up an amazing work. When you did camera tracker tutorial. Is it possible in Fusion to export alembic file (abc)?
Thanks! There is an option in fusion to export an FBX with camera and point cloud data, but I haven't gotten it to work in the beta yet. Once it works though, oh the places we'll go!
This is the most frustrating thing, for me, with Fusion, and importing fbx into the Fusion within Resolve. If they can get all that stuff working, it will be amazing!
im not gonna lie lol the first cpl seconds into the video Im like " huh, wait wat ? wtf ? how ? wait ( rewind ) huhhhh ???? " lmaoooo then I was like " OoOoOo, look at that mountain, omg is it gonna ? .. yo this is dope but I'm still lost " hehehehe
Houdini 17 got rid of the default cube in the GEO node since the first two steps in most projects were "create a geo node" then "delete that dumb cube" ;) -Theo
Really loved the first half of this tutorial. The “after the fact” portion felt really rushed though. That may be by design, but as you’re playing around with different tut formats and ways to interface with your fans, I wouldn’t slap that outline on a beginner tutorial. After being walk through the effect so nicely, it was a bit overwhelming. You might even say it was bananas. ...and go buy Redshift. (Smile)
Houdini is not a programm meant to used by mortals. I have learned many 3d and vfx programms over the years for my work and trust me when i tried houdini it was fucking hell. This programm is powerful but not for 3d artist maybe programmers or absolut no life nerds, i do not know....
This is probably the most complicated and complex "beginner" tutorial I have ever seen. Thanks!
@@Tyrunz Houdini... it's so easy it's impossible...
yeah talks fast and part 2 cut fked it up for me haha
are you kidding me😅
3:18 "That is some gooooood animation"
Houdini's #1 on my quarantine self-teaching list and I found this incredibly easy to follow, thanks!
This tutorial was amazing! I gave it try with one model of an interface/console I designed. And it looked great. For my first time using Houndini I rewatched the first part of the tutorial (the first 8 minutes) for like 2 hours, but it was worth it.
Entertaining AND concise. Learned quite a bit! The best Hannukah gift I could wish for.
Hey. thanks for the tutorial mate! I'm extremely new to Houdini and was a little worried initially at how fast you run through everything, you still manage to explain the process perfectly so thank you! Hopefully will see some more Houdini tutorials. :)
Wow, had no idea you're into Houdini too…awesome! You're one of my favorite tutorial person, I hope you'll make more of these!
Sweet video thanks
mom, i don't feel so good...
Instructions unclear. I made the infinity gauntlet and disintegrated everyone.
awesome tutorial. I do wish you showed how to render this out though

Banana! love your mood and love tutorials from start to finish! I dont have redshift, so H.mantra Apprentice ed and AF are perfect

Thank You very much, Theo! I always look forward to Your Houdini tutorials!
Awesome, can you make a text sphere or any geometry emerging from sand in Houdini please
Good stuff. As yet another Houdini noob, I really appreciate how you quickly touch on what each little button is doing as you move through your set up. Very helpful. Banana.
Glad I could help! I'm just waiting on redshift until siggraph just in case there's a sale :)
I need help bringing this into c4d. Any tutorials?
Great tutorial, but how do you give the principled shader to the pig? Also my mantra won't render, at all. It will just say cannot write data to image device no matter what I do or change.
Thanks for this - my first stab at Houdini. How would I go about exporting the particles and geometry to Cinema 4d please?
Great tutorial! Pls more such houdini videos!
Wow, not really a beginner tutorial, but I appreciate the effort.
can you tell me your render setting?
i stuck at render part.

@吳雨潔 same here
So I worked it out. In Houdini there must have been an update since this video. Instead of using poly extrude use extrude - old. Using this solved the issue for me.
thanx buddy.... can you make some houdini learning tutorial??
codeword: banana -- I am going to try hiding comment codewords in my tutorials. I'm a blender guy but Houdini is sooo niceeee
Hope someone replies but Why does wind force doesnt come up in options? im super noob at this
So weird... I was just watching vids on Houdini yesterday. Was kinda surprised to see this notification
Thanks buddy . I subbed, will u make fire simulation video
great job
Great tutorial though I am experiencing some weirdness. I am following along but using a word not just a letter. My noisey boolean cloud glitches in and out. do I need to make a sphere for each letter for this to work on a larger item?
when I put a geometry node in, nothing omes up. Is there something I have to do to get it to pop up in the viewport?
Good question! In Houdini 17 SideFX removed the default box from the geometry node, so if you're on H17 then you wont see anything when you drop down a Geo node.

btw you should make redshift tutorials
I noticed that too. It's been a while since I peeked but Theo's vid prompted me to go peek and it was cool to see they had a free version!
Thank you so much. But, at 9:30 I can't understand more :< Because it's have many new things in it...
"If you wanna type your mom's name " - I died laughing. ROFL
For those who are new to Houdini and are struggling by understanding any thing here, I feel you, I would understand nothing too if Im not a little bit familiar with the Basics of Houdini. I suggest you to go and Watch ''Houdini is not Scary'' on youtube, then when you're finished with that, come and watch this video again and Thank me later
damn your resolution options satisfy me so much that I subscribed right away even before starting to see the video lol

Help! What buttons does he press at 7:47?
Hey there! Sorry it was a little click, but I clicked on the animation editor which is a tab on the top left next to scene view.
-Theo
I use cinema4d and im highly confused about the workflow in this programm
cause cinema 4d is the easiest. Use 3ds max or maya for understanding houdinia bit.
Banana. Do some more Houdini stuff! It's what sets you apart. Also, of course you should be using Redshift! Get with the times man! (But seriously it is pretty nice.)

thank you, I wanted to do this letters desintegration a while ago : )
How would you go about loading in a logo?
What do you mean "load it in?"
if you mean a premade logo image, you need to create a vector of the logo first ( ie in illustrator ) and then import that in to Houdini.
"Simple setup"
Proceeds to input the calculations of technology's singularity.
im not gonna lie lol the first cpl seconds into the video Im like
" huh, wait wat ? wtf ? how ? wait ( rewind ) huhhhh ???? " lmaoooo
then I was like
" OoOoOo, look at that mountain, omg is it gonna ? .. yo this is dope but I'm still lost "
hehehehe
Good stuff man
so nice!
It seems to me or something very fast. I think it was worth making it slower ... but this is my opinion. and so cool, well done !!!)
hey what's up ? When I click GEO it doesn't appear the cube .. why ?
Houdini 17 got rid of the default cube in the GEO node since the first two steps in most projects were "create a geo node" then "delete that dumb cube" ;)
-Theo
thanks, bro I like so much
i think i start to understand houdini's logic...
(i'm working with nuke in compositing)
I almost disintegrated myself watching this tutorial
sure make another one
if this is a beginner tutorial we should study ABC again, Thanx bro
This tutorial is different than most .. It's "a little more interesting"
wow u teach houdini also

Now I can snap my fingers and hit PLAY!!

it's a long jump from the 1st video to the 2nd videoo!
Mister T, I don't feel so good.
Adoro esse anuncio da Udemy kkkkkk

Thanos approves of this tutorial
Why would I need to destroy my mom's name?
I don't feel so good

LOST...what happened to simple!

Houdini crosses a strange line. Sometimes it feels like you’re creating art while other times it feels like you’re building a rocket ship.
amazing !
