Nice tutorial, clear instructions and good explanations, thanks a lot. I like this effects because it reminds of the 'Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good' scene in Infinity war.
Could the use of maskfromgeo do the same thing as the boolean are doing ? in H18 ? Same question as in your making object into water. I looks like it but I am not sure. I'll have to give it a try. Thank you for this great video.
This looks very beautiful and thank you for this fantastic tutorial! But I have one problem, at 8:07 why do you have that much particles after file caching? When I render it I can get only a tiny amount of particles.
Nice tutorial & but I notices your using Rubik Bold font which I loaded into my Windows font folder but Houdini doesn't seem to recognise the file (.ttf). Works for other fonts but not that one. Curious to know why if anyone has any suggestions.
Can u do an in depth tutorial on hair?Using Guides and Map to control density etc?We need this info in the community , thank you for all your help so far .
MONEYVAL9 oh yes that would be a great topic especially in conjunction with redshift... like if its possible to do modifications to the fur with cvex and all of that stuff ;)
The effect is cool, but at some parts of letters I have no points, but I have lines, which look not very good on render. Was trying to find, where is a mistake, but didnt succeed. Would be very thankful for help.

Hi, Its awesome tutorial... one small doubt for me, while rendering those particles it shows like spheres on each particle. how to change those to particle on render?
I'm not understanding how U animate the sphere inside obj. I'm trying to make a boolean on a transition of my box breaking and a static box that my character holds. In the transition I want the boolean, but the reference can't be animated inside geometry shelf
Thank you, for taking your time to make this awesome cool tutorial. I got an error VOP width attribute. Isn't working with Houdini 15. It shows extra token detected in expression on wire radius.
can't help you without seen the error or what you typed I recommend you go to the community and create a post there with screenshots so I can help you better, thanks mixtrn.com/community/
You need to use the point size on the geometry node to make the particles smaller or use the pscale attribute, add a simple shader to make them the color you want or add a color node
great glad you solved it, man that camera error, hunts you forever, I've done all night renders just to find out in the morning I rendered the wrong camera haha
It is these experiences that help you learn! even if they can make you go mad haha. Thank you for all you do. Totally new to houdini and this helped me tons!!
I'm getting confused on the scatter part. I have done everything you did in the tutorial but my points refuse to scatter in the colored area. They just stay scattered throughout all the geometry. Im not sure where to go from here.

@@MIXTraining Can you show how to composite the effect on people?
is there a way to do the opposite? for particles to "reintegrate" into geometry?
play it backwards, you might think that is silly, but that is how that effect is done most of the time
Very stylish !!🔥⚡

yes, trying is your best bet, there's many ways to get to the same result
Sweet, is there a link to the final output?
Thank you, if by final output you mean the hip file, you can get all my hip files on patreon www.patreon.com/mixtraining
Wow!!!! Your Houdini interface is so cool! What did you do? Can you teach us? thanks you
Thanks, is on my site free mix-training.com

Thank you for sharing!! This is great!! Thanks for making Houdini friendly tutorials.
really glad you find this helpful, thanks
Awesome tutorial! Super quick and well explained. Great effect too. Thanks! :)
aeko glad you liked it and was useful to you
@MIX Training; can you post a screenshot of the file nodes? I am a beginner and would be super grateful for the support

I don't think CVEX is the way anymore, that's why they opened the new Hair system

you're not in Kansas anymore haha
I have a wired question. I cannot render motionblur on this setting... I have enabled allow motionblur and there is no motion blur... any idea?
Hang Yuri Yang make sure you have a velocity attribute and turn on motion blur in the renderer
Problem solved. Did not turn on velocity attribute (No idea why not turn on by default) Cheers mate!
Ahh, makes sense..
BTW, any idea how to give the particles a life time?
Hang Yuri Yang there is a setting called life time heheh
Thank You very much!

Hi, Its awesome tutorial... one small doubt for me, while rendering those particles it shows like spheres on each particle. how to change those to particle on render?
Thanks, just make the point size smaller in the geo node
Ok Thank you...@@MIXTraining
I'm not understanding how U animate the sphere inside obj. I'm trying to make a boolean on a transition of my box breaking and a static box that my character holds. In the transition I want the boolean, but the reference can't be animated inside geometry shelf
you need to put a transform node before the boolean and animate it there
It didnt work. A solution that I found is to animate the geo out of SOP to 0 scale on the transition....
I wanted to make like u =(

The size of my particles is crazy big. :( Also I just don't know how to render it and get it all nice white as yours
You need to use the point size on the geometry node to make the particles smaller or use the pscale attribute, add a simple shader to make them the color you want or add a color node
Do you have the scene files for this walk-through?
You can get all scenes on Patreon www.patreon.com/mixtraining
I'm not getting the red color in between the two geometries? Any setting on the attribtransfer1? :/
In the attribute transfer node, in the Attributes tab, select the attribute you want to transfer, in this case, Cd, in the points section.
also play around with the "distance threshold" and "blend width" under "conditions"
very useful thank you !
I'm getting the particles as balls in the render .. how do you change that ??
in the geo object there's a point size, make.that smaller
I am not sure why but I can only see my particles in Scene View and not Render View :( Does anyone have a guess why that is?
I had copied the code in the attribute wrangle from the video - I had a different name for my camera! A learning experience nonetheless....

i like your videos but you have to relax. if you don't relax i can't watch the video relaxing.
not sure what you mean I’m relaxed 😌
I dont understand the tutorial must be step by step
sorry this is not a beginner tutorial, get the basics first and then come back to this, step by step will take for ever
MIX Training where i can find the basic tutorial ?
watch the other videos on the channel there's no basic tutorial for this, learn Houdini in general first, the topics in this video are simple
pop nut didn't working

I dislike the video when you said its not from scratch..💥

thank you, just add the color directly to the object points, the particles will inherit the color
