    *CHRISTOCENTRIC MEAL*
    *DR ABEL DAMINA*
    *APRIL 16, 2023*
    *RIGHTEOUSNESS (2)*
    *ROMANS 10:9-10, ROMANS 1:16-17*
*There are no steps to righteousness, the only way to righteousness is the gospel of Christ.*
*2nd Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. It is only in Christ that we are made righteous.*
We are his righteousness and he is our righteousness. It is important to know that every of God’s gift is given in Christ, by Christ, for Christ, through Christ, in Him, through him. This is the language of the epistles that point to what we have as a result of the resurrection of Christ. Romans 8:32, 2nd Peter 1:3.
Hence, Christ is the giver of all things and the things given in him and by him are FREE!!!
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
    Vs 25 Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Vs 26 To declare, [I say,] at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
We are believers, we have his righteousness because he is our righteousness because we have his life.
1st John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Vs 12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Vs 10 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness.
The Spirit of God is referred to in the New Testament as the spirit of Christ. This is same as the nature of the Father. Christ has been given all the things of the father. He has been exalted to the Father’s right hand and he administers all things for the Father. Ephesians 1:20-23.
Hence, we freely have Christ’s righteousness; the righteousness of God, the God-kind of righteousness.
Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
We are justified by his faith.
Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Vs 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
Vs 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
In verse 4, he highlights two kinds of righteousness.
Vs 4 For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Vs 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
In verse 3, he mentioned God. In verse 4, he mentioned Christ and and in verse 5 describes what Moses spoke of concerning the righteousness which is of the law. So there’s a distinction between the righteousness which is of the Law and righteousness which is of God.
You’ll find both kinds of righteousness (the righteousness which is of God promised and the righteousness of God revealed) in the Old Testament.
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law
The word, “imputed” is the same word found in Philemon 18.
Put that on mine own account.” It means to charge me for their wrong-doing.(other references where Paul used the word imputed Romans 2:8, Romans 2:26, Romans 3:28,Romans 4:4, Romans 4:5, Romans 4:9, Romans 4:10, Romans 4:22-24)
Hence, sin was charged when the law came. An example of sin not being charged before the law is seen in Abraham.
    Romans 4:2-8
Sin was not imputed unto Abraham but faith. (Genesis 15:6) hence, righteousness is by faith and this is what we first saw in Genesis. Righteousness by the law came 430 years after righteousness by faith.
*Confession: The Righteousness of God is by the faith of Christ Jesus. I have Christ, I have his faith and his righteousness is by his faith. I am a believer in Christ, I don’t lack faith nor the righteousness of God that came through faith.*
