Hello my names Louise and I’m a lot nearer 60 than 50 and I live in a little village in Lincolnshire. If you enjoy these chats and there’s a subject you’d like me to cover than please leave a comment, I’d love to hear from you .

Yes I am guilty of this. I say Thank you a thousand times. I now realize one thank you is enough. I said I'm sorry to an older customer years ago at work. She looked into my eyes and said, "You're not sorry. " Sorry is a state of mind. Now I apologize. Only once 😅 NO longer say sorry for things not my fault. Finally free. LOVE this message ❤

When any of my 3 teenage daughters are having a melt down and they vent their emotions out on me i just look they in the eye tell them to calm down and if appropriate explain why I am not going to be a target for their frustration and tell them its a good job i love them and now wonderful i think they are. it ends up with peace being resumed as you cant fight or argue with someone who isnt going tit for tat . Hi Louise this actually went through my mind last week because I was in a supermarket and a woman knocked me with her trolley and I immediately said sorry, she ignored me and just carried on and I thought to myself why the hell was I so quick to apologise to her when it was her who knocked me. I know that I've said sorry on occasions before when people have maybe bumped into me on the street or they've walked into me in a busy shop, I'm the one doing the apologising 😂. It's just a natural reaction to good manners. Maybe I should try the "glare" instead!!

Love the glare idea 😆 though I’m always grateful to people with good manners and hopeful others will learn 🤞😄

I do the same 3:52 say sorry in every situation. Last month in Sainsbury's a big guy with his elderly mother walked into me, well we sort of both walked into one another, but I said sorry despite him sending me flying. He just walked off even his mother looked shocked. I told my daughter who was also in Sainsbury's as we split up and she went mad and went looking for him. In the end I had to beg her not to have a go at him even though I secretly wanted her to have a go at him 🤔 Anyway I've come to the conclusion that there are lot of rude people out there in their own worlds.
    Take care x

Want an unpleasant experience, I kinda wish your daughter had found him too. Hopefully his mother said something to him . Sadly there are rude people everywhere but we don’t have to say sorry any more. It just takes practice and time x

I can identify with everything in this video. I don't beat myself up about it but I'm making a conscious effort to be more assertive (not aggressive) and stop putting other people's feelings before my own. As you say, it's a work in progress 😊

My late husband used to laugh at me because if we were out and you got those people stop you and ask you if you’d had any accidents in the last few years I used to reply “no sorry” and my husband said why do you say sorry for not having an accident. Heather

@@chorky2 I understand where he’s coming from but also I think we’ve become used to using sorry as a way of being polite and softening the no. I think it shows you’re an empathic, polite person but it’s also good that you’ve become aware of it . Thanks for sharing x
