As someone who read the manga at the start of 2023 I must say, all the memories flowing back into your head, and seeing all the sutle foreshadowing with full understanding really is an intense experience.

@trafalgerlaw they have short novel about post event after Monster. The title is Another Monster, but maybe there are many repetitive event there. After all, they sum and add new event too. Well, one of it is Monster author. There are 3 author write it I think. I don't have too much brave to read Monster haha. But I watch the recap anime for it

1. didnt fukubei died when he grabbed and jumped in bloody new year
2. they said that there are two friend, the first friend is now the real friend, so didnt the previous friend died after he was shot by the doctor in front of Ochoa i think
3. we saw friend die 3 times
4. how did he survive that gunshot and how did he protected the pope?
5. in the last when fukubei was kiled by sadakiyo he was fukubei so who was the previous friend?
1. He probably faked his death that time with another trick
2. Fukube was killed by yamane in the science room and then katsumata took his place
3. Like I said in 2000 when fukube falls he probably faked it somehow then in 2015 Fukube is killed for real and finally in the ending with sadakiyo, katsumata (2nd friend) dies for real
4. Fukube died and then the friend who resurrected was just katsumata who took fukubes place
5. The guy who sadakiyo kills in the end isnt Fukube, it’s katsumata since Fukube died in 2015

Its impossible that Katsumata was friend all along, or at least in the original timeline.
One of many plot holes is the conversation Fakube has with Manjoume chapter 202, where Manjoume tries to get Fakube to bend spoons live on television so he could get famous.
Fakube, at the last minute, decided to drop out, making Manjoume pissed off by telling him that he couldn't actually bend spoons, to which Fakube responded with "I can!" and then saying that he would be on tv, but everyone called him a liar. A common theme with Fukube is that he always lies. He says that he wants revenge on all the people who doubted him and that he is going to take over the world and kill the people who wronged him. This chapter is set after the events of the science room, meaning Fakube didn't die because his resurrection attempt failed in 1971.
Putting into question the "This is the truth." Panel when the new friend arrives in the virtual attraction and tried to kill young fukube saying "this is the truth." This lead alot of many people to believe friend was saying fukube did die in the science room when the resurrection attempt failed and when fukube slipped
the line "this is the truth," could be interpretated many ways. Perhaps the new friend was trying to preserve the lie by forcefully shutting down the Virtual attraction. Or even simply showcasing that Fukube did not have any special powers at all and that he was, in fact, a liar, adding another reason to believe this was not the same friend.
I gotta say that Uwasawa likes to make sure everyone understands the timeline and plot lines of his manga. He usually does not let the interpretation of events. He does, though, heavily like to put the character's motivation up to interpretation and what could happen in the future, a perfect example being Johan from Monster.
In order to interpret, you need to know what actually happened. In all of his other works, there isn't really a timeline where you don't know the answer to events that happen in the series, he likes to be quite clear on that.
Judging by how the original ending was serialized for over 10 years, I just do not think this new ending has any merit which was serialized in a Kazenban, aka Special edition in Japan, in 2016.
Even in the movies of 20th-century Boys, which have a similar ending to the special editions, they needed to make many changes to the story to make that happen, proving, in my opinion, that as a story, the new ending cannot fit with the manga's timeline and events that transpire.

Then sadakiyo and fubuki and all yamane make another one.
In 1999 Fukubi dates Kenjis sister.
Kenjis sister leaves Kanna.
So at that point, why doesn't kenjis sister simply tell kenji who the dad is? Would that not be a smart move considering he's a psychopath bent on world domination? She just forgets to tell him, and endangers her daughter mother and brother for no reason?
Did anyone who died actually die? It's all so confusing
At one point toward he very end of the book, I believed that donkey was friend. Because he was the only character who "died" that had not come back. And if every other dead person didnt actually die, why would he?
This manga is trust issues on a level I've never seen

It just baffles me that nobody thought of making this into a real movie. It believe it would be among the greats

The first 200 chapters were amazing. The plot was full of suspense and twists, and the characters were well written
The last 50 chapters were good but not as strong as the rest of the story. Too many plot holes and underdeveloped plotlines
Still an awesome series overall though. The 21st century boys ending was much better than the original

well in the actual manga its said the katumata replaced fukubei whic makes sense as he died on 1 jan 2015
but in the 21 centaury boys kenji tells that it was katsumata all along from the end of summer break as fukebei messed up his trick to fake his death and actually died which in hinted in 20th centaury boys
but it also doenst make sense as if it was katusmata all along then who did yamane killed in 1 jan 2015
and why did kiriko said :fukubei was the actual friend but he was killed and the 3f friend is someone else.
but of them are right and wrong in their own ways
