Trying TRADITIONAL CZECH FOOD, MASSIVE Pork Knuckle

- It's my last day in Prague, and I did a lot of touring the cathedrals in this beautiful country. Then for lunch, I ate a huge pork knuckle, which is a traditional dish here in Czech. Next day I had some more traditional Czech food, but my main reason I came to Prague was for the Global Social Media awards that I got nominated for. Thank you for all those who voted for me. The shop where you ate the bone marrow early in the morning, is called Nase Maso, which means Our Meat.

I would like to see a blogger not visiting that establishment. Too touristy and overpriced. The reason why the centre is not habitable for locals.
Czechoslovak here. The dumplings are called knedle (I'm spelling this phonetically in English) and they're like a steamed bread, perfect for mopping up sauce. If you are in the Czech republic or Slovakia in the future make sure to try Yalita, Yrtiniza (pork sausages), halushki (kind of like spaetzle), and kapusta (sauerkraut with caraway seeds and bacon.)
*all spelling is the best I can do to make this readable in English and get the right general pronunciation.

also tatarak, potato dumplings with sheep cheese (that's supposed to be official translation for halusky z bryndzou), for sure he needs to try tatra tea oh yea and some beer foods like pickled hermelin and drowners.

Making me very sentimental as I lived in Prague for two years in 2003-2005 and I miss it terribly, as much as I love it where I am now. The traditional stuff is great, and they didnt have all the steak and burgers when I lived there. Good luck in Seattle!

I love Prague!!! I grew up with those plum dumplings, but we had them topped with bread crumbs fried in butter and sprinkled with sugar, no sauce like in the video. OMG it’s sooo good!!! I’m craving them now!!
With breadcrumbs? My aunt, with whom i lived way back in Prague added sour cheese. Whatever, the dumplings have colonised my memory.

It is a beautiful country - and Prague is an amazing city. So Much Art There. I wished to move there as soon as I saw it. The Clock. The Central Square. The Cemetery. And the Powder Towers. What Glass-work! What Theater! What a wonderful place for an artist to Thrive. The Beer is the Best! But the food sucks!

I was at the castle too. It’s best if you wait for the afternoon when all the soldiers do a march. The cathedral is a great sight too. Would recommend 100%

You should'e gotten braised sauerkraut with those dumplings. The combination of savory, fatty pork with tangy, sweet sauerkraut and dumblings 👌👌👌

Dumplings from germanic areas are dough balls that are boiled. cheap, flour and water.
Mikey enjoys his meals to the fullest and reminds me of my nephew...
Those dumplings in Czech are very much like the dumplings we cook in the UK. I absolutely love them, proper Winter comfort food, stodgy & warming!

This part of the world gets such a bad food rep overseas so Goulash was a pleasant eye-opener for me in Central Europe. (Prague and Budapest particularly). So flavourful. (Also the fried cheese in Prague!)

I LOVED Prosperity Dumpling when I went to NYU... I would walk to campus from my work study in the LES and would stop there to get dinner or a snack... So cheap! I recommended them to everyone who would visit NYC. I felt like a part of me died when I heard it closed down. I'm so glad to hear they've reopened.
