I worked on Cub Cadets for years. The only drive shaft I had to replace was one a customer tried to improve on for tractor pulls. His mods failed miserably. I put the factory parts back in and it worked perfectly. The factory parts would last 30 to 40 years before needing service.
In this application, with the new engine mounted higher than factory, major mods were required. I like the idea of the CV axle mod.
Nice to have the machine shop to work with.

I never did have a problem with the original driveshaft parts. I just couldn't keep a piston together in the Kohler engine, so I finally decided to replace the engine. Thanks for dropping by and commenting! :)

So from shifting from 1 to 2 to 3 to reverse how does that work because you would need a clutch

There is no shifting, it's a hydrostatic.

Next time you have that problem tack the caps in.Old 4x4 trick .The old chevs and ford's with the solid front axles were famous for this.Been doing it for years hell even the ones in my Yamaha big bear front drive shaft is this way .Also I have made some drive shafts out of square stock for I belive it was Toyota for people over the years .Not sure what aplaction it was for .

Yes they are Chris! I looked at the date of this video wondering if it had been a year. I was in shock that it's almost 2 years! I posted my first video to TH-cam in Summer of 2009, I can't believe that's been almost 6 years.
