    It's pretty amazing that the trunion isn't notched out with all the slop in the rest of it. Good detailed stuff, thanks again. Ken

      I definitely expected it to be shot as well 🤷

    That is an awesome tractor. My 1641 needs minor adjustment in the hydro control. Thanks for putting these videos together - most helpful.

      It is an awesome machine. Wish I had one!
      I believe your 1641 has a different hydrostatic pump than this. Yours most likely has the HydroGear BDU-21 that they continued to use in the 3000 Series tractors. The control linkage is much less complicated.

    I don’t recall ever seeing a detailed video on the hydro linkage repair. Appreciate you sharing this, looking forward to part 2. I might dive into replacing the trunnion too. The control for my 1811 always tends to drift faster. I know how to control it, but once my wife tried to drive it and crashed into the side of her Audi. Needless to say, it’s manageable, as long as I’m driving!

    Glad I found your channel. I have a 1969 125 with an IH rototiller on the back of it. Runs great but a few problems with linkages.

      Thanks for taking the time to comment - and good to hear of another old Cub still in service!

    Quick question ( and somewhat unrelated)..what motor oil do you use in the Kubota?? SAE 30 is not good here in far upstate NY cuz even in June and August it gets down to 40F at night and might be 90F the next day..I'm thinking 15W-40 year around..

      15w-40 year round for most of the small diesel engines. I would not use straight 30 weight in the winter.

    Is there an adjustment for hydraulic steering when turning a sharp corner and forward movement slows to stop or CRAWL? I running an 1854 that does that?

    • @SolunaGarage
      @SolunaGarage 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no adjustment, but what is happening is related to internal pressure dynamics of the shared hydraulic system. The steering valve and hydrostatic transmission drive motor share the same pressure circuit. When you request full flow/pressure to the steering valve, there will be a pressure drop on the motor. If you make sure that your linkages and trunion controls are rebuilt, and you have changed the fluid and filter, that pressure drop should not cause a huge difference in forward or reverse motion. There will most likely always be some change, but it shouldn't stop movement or decrease it in the way you describe.

    To me the lesson here is keep all those linkages lubricated...nobody ever does..

    • @SolunaGarage
      @SolunaGarage ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup. Some graphite lube goes a long way here.
