If you hear the song on the Herzeleid album, that sound of a baby crying on the final chorus during Richard's solo is a sound sample. One of the oldest songs ever written by the band
The crystals on stage are actually ice. I think they had a Rammstein logo, which was literally burning, and it fell off during one of the songs before this one. There should be a video of this moment. Das Alte Leid is actually about erectile dysfunction ('old suffering' cause it's common for older men); that's why Till is acting so stressed and grabbing his crotch, and also, you can hear a child crying at the end.
Interesting interpretation. I would say the song stands for the exact opposite in terms of content. The old suffering is the hormone-driven story that dominates us men to varying degrees and makes us do stupid things. One of the results of the uncontrolled urge is the stylised baby crying.
Dry ice at the front. This is the gig that had Till decide to learn pyro safety, the large metal "Rammstein" box (That was on fire, suspended from the scaffold rig) fell onto the front row about 20 minutes before this song.
Supposedly by that time Till was raising his first daughter, also Kruspe and Paul had each a baby of their own ( so a lot of crying in their houses maybe saved for inspiration.) haha that atmosphere is the vibe I’m getting in that song a lil bit of desperation. 😛
Good old times. At that time, in addition to Rammstein, there was also the band Richthofen. Similar sound, slightly different vocals but with incredible energy. They've recently returned and are called Seelenwalzer like their first album. That would also be a good retro feeling.
It would be nice if that was true but it’s not. Another American dude known as reactions by D has about 150 and another European dude known as ITN also has more. That's without seeing how many are on their Patreon but don't think they've got 50 plus Rammstein songs on their Patreon.
Trivia: This is actually one of the oldest Rammstein songs. Not only that, it was the first Rammstein song to ever be played on the radio. For anyone curious on their earliest songs - Rammstein, Weisses Fleisch, Das Alte Leid, Seemann, Schwarzes Glas and Feuerrader
@@xxJOKeR75xx well that is the first song on the first album. They did perform that song a year before the album though, so it was another early one. It was referred to as "Bringer" back before the album. And they still will usually use that name on their internal set list for shows. There is also Jeder Lacht. These were their 94 era songs before they really took off
I’m pretty sure it is dry ice, actually, I’m pretty sure that I remember seeing ‘smoke’ coming off of the blocks when they were first put out. I need to watch the whole show again, which is just going to be *such* a hardship…😜 (Also, I’m gonna point out that I recommended this exact performance in a TH-cam comment awhile ago, specifically because I knew Chels would appreciate Till’s Magic Mike moment.)
Its just big blocks of ice, stagehands were fumbling around in the dark getting them out on stage for several minutes before the song 😅 this was the first song back for the encore followed by a fun performance of Du Riechst So Gut to end the show
7:19 her face🤣

Old Rammstein are super energetic and Flake really played the keyboards. Unfortunately today they replaced that with fireworks.

I was gonna say, isn't this the one where the flaming rig fell down? Thanks for confirming.
Chels actually said it pretty good 😮
Thank you! 😊

The Future Palace track I was hinting at dropped today 😁
It’s on our list!

We plan on it!

It’s a great song!
Barely 2 weeks after this show, was the last time this song was performed live. That was pushing 30 years ago
Wow!
Flake smoking at 2:10 😅 the show was sponsored by a cigarette company
NIL 😅
The Band was founded in 1994. 30 Years ,

The first song that i heard of them was "Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?" from the Herzeleid Album

During Du Riechst So Gut, one of the dancing girls slipped on the ice when Till tried to tear her dress off.
