… Roy also speaks about Teles in general, and how the old (early 50's) Telecasters had a better cut nut which made the open C-chord more comfortable ..... On a "modern" Tele he found that he had a tendency to mute the high E-string with his forefinger while playing the open C.
I wonder if the '52 RI has the period correct string spacing ..... ?

Marty Scorsese told me last summer ...
in my interview with him for The Hollywood Reporter ... about choosing Roy Buchanan's rendition of "Sweet Dreams" for the soundtrack of his Oscar-winning movie "The Departed": " 'Sweet Dreams' is like a theme that goes through the picture. The downbeat in the beginning of the song, the way Buchanan plays it, is so melancholy and so powerful that I thought, here's a perfect place for it, at the end of this movie -- so I put it there."

Roy played clean. No gimmicks. The only true test of talent. He used a Fender Telecaster 1953.....one amp ...his two hands...magical fingers....and his tormented soul. Period. Gimmicks are for those with less talent ......looking for help.
